thanks my dude! thats was one of the best tutorials i've seen, keep the great work!
Thanks. You are the best of the best. I cannot believe how many times Microsoft has messed up my recovery partition. You have taught me more than I want to know about windows.
Glad to hear that
Very good video, I solved my problem and I also found out that you can attach custom (bootable?) images to reagent. For example, I attached my MS-DaRT bootable image and now I have all the DaRT tools directly in the RE without having to boot from an external USB or DVD every time. I tested every functionality and it all works flawlessly, the integration is perfect. So people, if you have an ISO of MS-DaRT (you can make your own for free, there are plenty of videos explaining how), definitely replace the default RE with it. It's miles better and everything works fine. As I said, good video, too.
You saved me in moving a Windows install and creating a recovery partition for a friend. Your videos are very well done. Cheers
I'm glad!
that was clear af, not only you shown how it should done that way, you explain why it has to be that way too! very great dude, love it all the way to the moon lol
Glad you liked it!

Excellent video. Helped my recreate a recovery partition and the WindowsRE file after deleting it whilst trying to extend the main partition in an Unraid VM
Glad it helped
Muchas gracias por haberte tomado el tiempo de hacer y subir esta información. Me ha servido mucho y resolví el problema. Usé 7zip para extraer el archivo que faltaba por alguna razón. Muchos 👍🏻 éxitos. Thank you for this tuto.
Hello, I installed a SSD and for some reason it created another recovery partition and now the original won't work. Edit: I have two recovery partitions on disk 0, "hard drive", one is part 1=450MB and the other is part 5=509MB. Which one do I choose?
Man I cant express enough how much I appreciate that! Really I could give you a kiss. Thank you very very much.
Glad I could help!
When doing a reagentc /disable the Winre.wim is not mooved to c:\windows\system32
ecovery folder. I disappears from the recovery partition, but goes somewhere else. Where?
Will the build of the Windows ISO file that is newer from the current Windows build be fine? (For example, the difference between security/quality/feature/cumulative/version updates.)
You sir are an absolute gem!!
Thanks!
Now I get the error 3bc3 after using reagentc /enable. What sould I do?
I accidentally deleted recovery partition. But by watching your videos I could recreate recovery partition and mounted win file as per procedure described in video. Thanks a lot.
Glad I could help
You are truly great at understanding and solving windows related issues. I faced some problems after deleting my recovery partition and without your assistance, it would have taken me down the path of reinstallation. My only question is whether the index 1 that you used would have different recovery file relative to other indices (read other windows versions)? Thanks again for your help.
Thanks for watching, recovery partition could be at any location.
Thank you so much. So many other methods didn't work. Very straight forward
Bro you saved my life ,this is the first CZcams video I say ,for realll mannnnnnn

God bless you bro❤️

Happy to help
Hi, I clone my old SSD to the new One and then formated the old one. Now, I am trying to do a PC reset but it is not working. I had done it once on old SSD. What should I do?
Thank you very very much for this video . I had this problem nearly 6 mouths . All the other CZcams videos are hard to understand . This video is the video I searched from those 6 mouths . Thanks . 🙏🙏🙏👌👍👍
Glad it helped. You are most welcome! 😊
I dont have the windows installation media but i created a bootable recovery drive and in the sources folder I have "Reconstruct.wim" of 3.9 GBs, "Reconstruct.wim2" 1.5 GBs and "boot.wim" 421 MBs , I tried mounting with the first option of wim of 3.9GBs and yet I didn't see any wim file in my temp. mount folder in C drive .
Thank you! Finally a solution that works after I browsed the endless microsoft posts without success.
Can we grab another Recovery from a PC that has it and copy it directly to the Recovery on the affected machine?
Thanks friend. I was getting so pissed until i saw your video and fixed the issue!
Hello friend, your video is really amazing. But I had a doubt, how did you manage to save inside "c:\windows\boot" if it is protected by the system... Due to the permissions, I can't even take ownership of the folder.
After converting, I was worried that I can't get reagentc because the conversion deleted my recovery partition.
But I figured that since I was trying to install windows 11, and after installing it, I got my recovery partition back so it's all good.
Haha pc hobby noob here. Do u mean that I can just not care about this and when I finally install Windows 11 it will come back?
I once got a malware virus that can take control over your computer (administration) from afar. The hacker was smart enough to delete The Windows RE image so that I couldn't reset my pc and get rid of the malware. You literally saved my life and many of my accounts including this CZcams account, even though I couldn't recover my Facebook and Microsoft account in time. Thank you for the tutorial, have a nice day brother.

@@Socuition try to reset ur pc as fast as you can
How’d you get the malware virus? I’m scared I might encounter one while I’m recovering the reagent c
@@ooplycrossing2744 I downloaded cracked version of adobe photoshop from unknown CZcams channel (probably Russian) which they immediately deleted their video sometime after I got malware virus. You just have to avoid downloading cracked versions of apps, find reliable channels if you really wanna download them, but the safest way is to buy those apps from official websites.
THANK YOU!
Well explained, clear and informative! :)
If you have used "reagentc /disable" as part of resizing the recovery partition, it "should" copy the winre.wim file off the recovery partition into c:\windows\system32
ecovery. If it doesn't, you need to provide the file as per the instructions but you may find that the ReAgent.xml file still points to the file being on the recovery partition so it will still fail. You may also need to give it a copy of ReAgent.xml that can be found in the same place.
you are a godsend, I spent days trying to figure out why it still fails !
This needs to be pinned to the top. Many guides are not mentioning this and it is happening to many people. Though it seems so simple to try, many are overlooking this simple added step of copying both files when RE Image is still not being found. You definitely helped me with this.
i have this problem, when i try to copy the install.wim from sources it doesnt show anything when i search it what am i doing wrong?
Muchas gracias amigo, no entiendo inglés pero igualmente entendí tu vídeo y me sirvió, saludos desde 🇨🇱, mucha gente de todos los países deben estar acá viendo tu vídeo 👍👍👍👍👍

Oh my god thank you so much for finally helping me with his issue, Internet sucks to find the simplest of things to do.

Thanks man, you were only one who could solve my problem!
I deleted my recovery partition to extend my C-drive due to space issues. I want to recreate the recovery partition but cannot find the Winre.wim file in my recovery Pendrive. the recovery pen drive doesn't have the install.wim file in it. Please help me.
This solved my issue that my previous file is correpted or dont work for some reason but this method helped me to create the partition from scratch, Thank you so much
Thank you. I originally had windows 10 but upgraded to windows 11 some time ago. Didn't realize the recovery partition not updated. I just installed a new SSD and not sure what the issue is and was thinking of reset but found this issue.
how did he use the windows installation media? did he put it on a disk or....?
What if it is saying it can't see it but I have a winre.wim file in recovery?
if i just get new windows, would that solve the problem too?
Just found your video, thanks alot man!
Hello. In my installation media device there is no "install.wim" file. There is an "install.esd" file instead, which has the same size (almost 4GB). Can I do the procedure with this file anyway? Shall I rename its extension? Thanks!

you said you would insert the windows installation media file, where can i find this? Thanks
the command line is missing the mountdir options for more information refer to the help
When downloading the media recovery tool, I went to find the install.wim file and instead of that, there was a 3.7 gig file called install.esd (esd file). What do i do with that?
czcams.com/video/Mwk0Vo-pvVI/video.html
i tried follwing the steps but the dvd drive never shows up
in my cmd i did reagentc /info i checked the location it wasent anywhere what i do ?
Followed these instructions, when i go to do “reagentc /enable” it still tells me there is no recovery image, despite the Winre.wim file being in the system32/recovery folder.
I keep getting "Error 13 the data is invalid" whenever I try to use the dism to mount-wim. Any ideas what the issue could be?
I followed all the step.. still saying unable to update boot configuration data

hell. i need help. so basically i have the health reovery partition in there but it still doesnt want to enable
Thank you very much for this guide. It was a pain in the neck since my installation disk has the install file as an .ESD file rather than a .WIM file so had to look for another way to open that file but alas, i was successful. Thank you.
hi, I also have a .ESD file. how did you manage this? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
What do i do if: Unable to update boot configuration data
i put the file in
ecovery and it still says windows re image not found please help. is there any way we can get on some sort of call to get personalized help?
In my case I dont have the Windows RE Location. and it is disabled. please advice
Is safe to delete mount folder after that?
How did you find the windows installation media
My file is 'install.ESD' does this work the same way as .wim?
Sir I have a esd file in sources what Should I do
I don't have windows install media. Is there another way to complete this?
Hey @IT Army i am at 6:40 i press enter and it says error 11 ''An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.'' what should i do?
Hi, Try this method to get wim file czcams.com/video/Mwk0Vo-pvVI/video.html
What if my windows "install" file ends with the .esd extention instead of .wim? Can I use it as well?
You will need to convert to .wim file first. there are good instructions on how to convert esd to wim.
Thanks. You are the best, help me so much. Once again thank you.
Glad to hear that!
This worked, holy shit, you are awesome.
Thanks for useful explanation on how to fix this issue! Though for me on the last step the Winre.wim file didn`t move to the recovery partition and the issue still exists. Going to try to solve it other ways
Figured out the reason, needed to change path for reagent image using command
reagentc /setreimage /path C:\windows\system32
ecovery
after that using commands
reagentc /enable
reagentc /info
worked exactly as in the video - winre.wim file disappeared from System32/Recovery folder and changed to new Windows RE location:
\\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition4\Recovery\WindowsRE
Which basically means that it is now located in drive C:Recovery instead of being on a hidden partition
@@nik_evdokimov Thank you!!! I scrolled through all these comments knowing someone else had to be stuck at this step. Changing the path using the command you provided worked and I was finally able to enable it again!
when i do reagentc /info and when i check the windows re location it's just empty, what should i do?

Hi, I mounted the WIM folder and set up RE, however, now I am unable to delete the E:WIM folder.
I have used cmd line to take ownership and full control of the directory and contents, however,
it keeps insisting that I need permission from "myself". Any suggestions? I have gone thru folder
properties permissions, User Account Control, CMD line permissions, none have worked.
Unmount it like what he did inside the video
@@yinh4514 Yeah I had unmounted it. Shortly after, my partition manager was updated to include a shredder, it took care of it.
I have the recovery partition. However, still don't have the image file. Windows RE location shows as empty, meaning there's no path to it.

Great video, helped me connect the pieces between fixing this quite annoying Windows issue. Any idea why the file disappears when running reagentc /enable again?
Its moved to the recovery partition as was said?
Thank you for the very helpful instruction video. In my case (deleted and then recreated the recovery partition) i needed to add another step after I had copied the winre.wim file to actually "activate" the file. I had to use the following command
reagentc /setreimage /path C:\Windows\System32\Recovery
in my case I deleted that 500Mb recovery partition. will this video solve my problem?
Yes, but in future you will not be able to upgrade or reset the PC.
