Thank you so much for dropping the links to the books it really means a lot to lazy people like me 😭😭
You guys should definitely do Dceased: Dead Planet for Halloween
Government agent talks into his suit lapel: "Yes, sir. Ethan Marsh managed to predict the ending of a book he never read, again. How should we proceed?"
Make him Italian mob boss.
"Ask him about the next Powerball number".
“Release the cannibal virus.”
I swear I'm surprised Marvel didn't make a Dark Multiverse before DC with these Titles
*The government agent is then revealed to be in the bullseye of a high end sniper rifle*
Me, speaking into my cell, cradling the sniper rifle, safely in my nest: you were right. One more time would force the agent to make a move. How do you want this handled, Ethan?
D-Man is a proud warrior, who deserves your respect!
I kid you not, I was rewatching the Wolverine episode JUST TWO DAYS AGO, and I wondered "hey, they never came around to follow up with the Versusverse, oh well, nothing of value was lost". 😂
With all the respect in the world, I always wish your videos were longer by atleast an hour. I'm here for all your videos, regardless of length, don't get me wrong. the chemistry between the four of you is next level. It can't be taught or bottled. It only comes through authentically being friends. No matter what life throws at you guys, I know the four of you will be a-okay in the end. It's been a pleasure watching your account grow over the years! Here's to many more!!
This is sweet to read!!
"Fuck Hawkeye"
- Thor
I have a theory about Thor killing Hawkeye. Maybe it was a mercy kill? Maybe after seeing the situation he pitied humanity to the point where he didn't wanna see his last friend turn into a monster. It's hard to say for sure, but Thor has no signs of infection. His teeth aren't sharp and he's not shouting meat. Just a thought because poor Hawkeye needs a break. Also if I recall correctly Thor doesn't show up in Marvel Vs Punisher.
Now I think about it where were the robot heroes during this?
I literally just finished watching the episode on Marvel Universe vs. Wolverine and was thinking about how I'd like to see episodes about the other books in the series when I saw this video in the subscriptions box. ComicPop never disappoints.
Hey Ben, just so you know, Lestat eventually discovered that Magnus was wrong when he said that drinking the last drop as the heart stops beating will actually "drag you down in to death with them" or whatever, at least in the literal sense. He almost immediately tries it for himself, because he's Lestat and someone just told him not to do something so of course he has to do it, and he describes it as a "wallop" that apparently stuns and disorients him for a while, so it's probably not something you'd want to happen right after you've killed someone in an alley or whatever but it's not actually deadly in and of itself, it's just apparently that they feel the death in a way that they wouldn't if they stop drinking before the heart stops.
Oh hey this is the one with the random cameo of Hazmat from Marvel's Rise of the Imperfects as well as the book that confirmed they own those characters.
Wasn’t she from Avengers Academy?
@@YouCalledForTheDoc there are 2 characters named Hazmat, Keith Kilham & Jennifer Takeda, the one that was first drawn in the book was Keith Kilham by mistake when actually Jennifer Takeda was supposed to be drawn, it was fixed in the next issue but the mistake was already made & in an interview about the mistake on of the artists said that it was so fat in that they had to check if they owned the character so they didn't have to redo all that work & the Keith Kilham cameo was kept in.
You could say that the virus from this universe is similar to the one from "28 days later".
The trinty word association is so strong when Sal said it, I immediatly pictured Batman Superman and Wonder Woman in this marvel apocalypse.
I think it’s really cool that this comic has quite a few citizen characters. Having down-to-earth characters really grounds the story and reminds the heroes what they’re fighting for.
Another series that does this even better however is Harbor Patrol which DESPERATELY needs another installment! :)
This show has become one of the bestt parts of my week every week.❤
The ending always haunts me, as Hawkeye is so well written.
I always thought that Thor killed Hawkeye out of resentment, for failing to save the world. I don't know what to think about him succumbing to the virus. I think that's what it's supposed to be, but he never actually eats Hawkeye. It's like he's rage quitting Midgard.
Reading this at age 10 thinking I was strapped in for a fun/interesting zombie story and seeing the ending still has me thinking about it 12 years later was not a recommended experience 😭
I like to think Deadpool was immune, he just saw an excuse and took it. That's the beauty of his character: I don't feel like he high-key wants to eat me but, like...if it came up? If it was suggested to him?
The whole “I have hope now” and then they die trope happens kinda often but it’s mostly played for laughs. This and maybe that one death in The Suicide Squad are examples
I always took Thor killing Hawkeye as his act of Asgardian mercy. I thought he saw that the Avengers were dead, the city had fallen and there was no way out for Hawkeye. So he mercy killed him to spare him the horror and the chaos.
Kind of thought it was like a poetic end of showing that even Thor knew that there was no hope. The only thing left to do is prevent any more suffering
The “Marvel meets 28 Days Later” Universe
lol indeed :)
2:16 Oh man, another Versusverse book! That Wolverine came out not too long ag... Oh fuck me, time needs to slow down.
Ok no lie, not realizing this was gonna be the new episode I just recently re-watched the Marvel Universe vs Wolverine episode. Talk about good timing
So excited! I'm gonna watch and share so we can get the third installment one day!
So to build on the part where Spider-Man is using a webs to capture his victims the reason he still able to make web is because when he was bitten by the radioactive spider in the original comic he states that being bitten is what gave him the knowledge to instinctively make web fluid.
I like these stories, not because they're good but because I find it an interesting concept. Also I enjoy thinking about how you could turn this into a movie or show.
So this series is basically DCeased years before DCeased. I want to read this now.
The fact that there are all these versions and twists on “Zombies in the Marvel universe” but NONE of them are simply just The Avengers or The X-Men holed up in a mansion while fighting hordes of feral zombies bewilders me. Just make a REGULAR zombie story but with our REGULAR heroes as the survivors. Enough of this obsession with flesh and “eating the universe” or whatever tf
Funnily enough, Marvel did do that a few years back with the MCU Avengers cast vs Zombies in some manga. And it was not good...
"Oh that sucks"
No Ben, technically it bites. 😁
It's been a long time since I got a "WTF is this" book from the channel but holy crap!
Johnathan Mayberry is a really damn good author, but his books ARE horror novels, where bad things happen to good people.
This is always fun to hear the pop crew covering these stories.always a good time! I always describe these stories as vertigo for marvel/knights.
The ending left me so confused when I first read it, I ended up coming to the conclusion that Thor wasn't infected and was just cleaning up the world, Hawkeye just had the worst luck ever.
Look at his mouth.
@@comicpoplate reply but yeah I noticed the blood when the initially watched this episode, it was a detail I missed when I read it way back when.
Guess he was infected? Guess the galaxy is fucked if Thor can travel between realms still.
I know you said Ant-man can eat you forever, what I heard was “Aunt May could eat you forever.”
The soul gem bit! God this channel is gold 🥇
Wolverine's weakness is feelings. His healing factor has to take over and berserk his mind when the PTSD peaks.
The Marvel universe vs the avengers just seems like a sad and depressing story that doesn't sound fun but miserable at least in my opinion, but that being said seeing Hawkeye and punisher teaming up against doctor doom does sound badass, unfortnately with its ending it just felt like all that fighting was all for nothing which just sad and depressing at least in my opinion.
Well at least the ending of the Wolverine book shows a sign of hope since Reed is making a cure and survivors are all held up in a secure bunker.
@@reddeadspartan that's true and you're right about that and honestly out of all of them that book does sound hopeful way more then this avengers one which is just spiteful at least in my opinion.
@@TevyaSmolkaYour assessment of these books is fair. I do enjoy a bleaker story sometimes and these must have hit at the right time because I remember them fondly. I don’t know if I’d feel the same after a re-read.
@@shawnfrieler1187 i can understand that
YES! I've been waiting for this one ever since your review of the Wolverine one dropped.
I would’ve rly loved hearing u explain D man to them 😂
Love the 2 years between episodes like the 2 year time jump in the first volume haha
Yay just in time for October!!
I remember reading this back to back my freshman year of college on Marvel unlimited. I would confuse the title with the, kills the marvel universe.
This show is excellence personified. Its awesome sauce incarnate!
Damn you guys followed through awesome! Appreciate it
42:40
Odin: Welp looks like it’s the end of the world, time to party, Thor grab me some mead
Thor: …Meat?
Odin: What
We need the next volume! Great episode
What good timing, I just watched the first TMU vs video last week! Can't wait to hear your coverage of the sequel.
Another fantastic episode!
I didn't even watch the video yet and I've been waiting for you guys to do this
Nice it's finally back, Can't wait until you do the next part.
17:17 I didn’t think it was possible to make a Dr. Doom suit that’s uglier than the one in Fant4stic, but there it is.
I have wondered about this comic for awhile…. Thanks for the breakdown
Great video. Looking forward to the finale of this series.
Keep up the good work.
Hey guys! This is awesome! I loved your Wolverine Episode and I’ve been waiting for a follow up to this universe. I liked the first one more (best part was the moment between Frank and cap “you were always my hero”), so good! This one not as awesome imo, but you guys make it awesome! Have a great day!
I have a question why doesn’t Reed or anybody just call the Silver surfer or some other space-based character and have them assemble the infinity stones, and fix everything that way?
34:30 - 35:08 favorite part of the video😂😂 Great episode!😂
Why wasn’t Doom the villain in the first one? He seems like more of a threat than Hulk with his intelligence & magic, and even with the doom stones, like he should’ve been the big bad in that one
bit a nerdy of me but Asgardians are meant to be immune to all earthly diseases. but yeah this run was so odd. Doom gotta Doom tho!
Studies on the doom stone have shown that the reaction from the infected by the doomstone is: o_o
Noice!![ I think the description is off]
Man I really hate hopeless stories. I enjoy you guys, great back issues.
Sounds like Garth Ennis’ Crossed was an influence on this.
okay my main question that i’m surprised no one asked.. if when other ‘turned’ individuals become childlike and docile when they have on the doom stone, why does it somehow keep doom seemingly as intelligent and alert as always. the only other person to act this way is Deadpool, but with him i get it because it’s a bit
I have the weirdest case of Mandela effect because I swear I remember seeing you cover this before
Isn’t this the 3rd one after last gun and wolverine? Different continuity or just changes from time ?
It's Frank.
Frank makes bombs, so I'm willing to bet that he makes more bullets.
Oh boy
That ending suuuucked! I get that it's setting up the next one, but cmon! That was way too cruel.
Technically they would be CHUD over zombies
Sounds like I Am Legend combined with 28 Days/28 Weeks Later but with Marvel characters.
Wait shouldn't Dakken be immune like Logan?
MORE
Funny thing in the walking dead they also are all already infected and can just turn at any moment without dying or being bitten and no one knows why
A book that features the Marvel Zombies, now this is a series I’ve been… dying for you guys to return to lol
Landlord Clint can't fix the radiator what makes them think he can stop the cannibal apocalypse? Also I feel like the vegans and vegetarians are on a super high horse at the beginning of it..
Great episode , I have idea about 3rd one , does it lead to frank becoming cosmic ghost rider in this universe?
Is this a re-upload? I swear I recognize this Thumbnail.
They teased it with the thumnail in the community tab a couple days ago maybe you saw it there.
@@codystork3008 Oh, Yeah! Thanks!
Wow so this what if Marvel Heroes become Mutated Cannibalists via a Viral Strain
Wolverine is not invincible his healing factor doesn't prevent harm just repairs it. We also forget he feels every thing that happens to him so you shoot him in the head he feels it unlike others whose power protect them from pain. Just pointing that out wolverine is not invincible just durable to an extent you can still vaporize wolverine or drop him in acid or lava.
No need to point it out
Holy sh*t... this was relentlessly depressing.
I never read these kinds of stories. They’re just so sad and fatalistic. Which is the opposite of what I like about superhero comics
I read these if they are villain focused like Williamson's Rouges book. Something about making the focus not the heroes lets me know I am not in for a typical story. But, on the whole I agree if it stars a hero I want them to save the day or acheive a personal win.
The first volume was pretty decent. Had me interested about the future of this series. My lord how quickly it went downhill. Cant wait for yall to get to the Punisher volume. It is so bad. Literally the worst end of a trilogy I have ever seen. No answers to the mysteries set up. It contradicts the previous series. And the art is no good. Oh and its just gross. But it will be one fun Back Issues episode
There has to be a better name for this book, marvel universe vs is a place holder name at best, there's no way they couldn't think of something better to call it
Huh, really swore I did a comment. Hmm...my lack of commenting will be a Avenged.
Can anyone help me out here? I thought punisher vs the marvel universe was a what if, where the heroes kill franks family and so he kills all the heroes and villains. I remember him luring the mutants to the moon and using a nuke on them
Yeah that's Punisher *kills* the Marvel Universe written by Garth Ennis
@@Bryan-gy2zu Dubhhh, you are right. Thank you, I must be slipping in my old age
Everyone’s already infected….so it’s just the walking dead then.
41:51 “Repopulate? All I do is Depopulate.”
So the Marvel Verses Verse is kinda like the Crossed comics, but less perverted?
Once again Frank is the hero everyone needs thats why hes the best boi
This is like the worst and disgusting comic I’ve ever seen besides ruin and zombies
46:20 I think they said the best that it’s a misery fast like junk food. For me it’s kind of like I’m holding out for Hope, but knowing full well that there’s no hope in sight.
@jrgomez5861 if you mean Marvel, I can see it. But if you mean in general, I disagree.
Why was this comic made? Just another zombie like story, so boring!, so hopeless and the art is always so ugly on this type of comics.
