Have you tried black sapote? It tastes like chocolate pudding fruit. Once you've got one, usually from south American markets, it has to be *really ripe* As in, ninety seconds from spoiled. They're like creamy-ish pumpkin pie without the spices.

I used to go to a great local coffee shop. One day, I forgot my wallet. So no cash, no card, before paying by phone. They already made my order. They said forget about it, you're a regular. I thanked them several times. The next day, I came back and insisted that they charge me for the day before and thanked them more. Oh, and I dropped about 3x my normal tip in the jar. This is how you get great service, not by screaming.
They unfortunately closed during COVID. They made their own most amazing caramel sauce! I couldn't count the caramel late's I had there.

I worked at KFC, this lady came in asking for a chicken breast, after she took it to the table she took a bite and came back and said that the breast was too big and she wouldn’t be able to finish it, she asked if I can take it back and give her a smaller one because she doesn’t like wasting food. She didn’t see the irony of me telling her that if I take it back I’m going to have to throw it out due to her already touching it

#3 Reminds me of this one time when I was at a café by myself. I was returning to my seat and stopped to look at the chalkboard with the day's specials when I heard someone go 'Hey! Hey, you! Hey, miss!" behind me and as I was turning to see what the ruckus was about, a customer grabbed me by the shoulder and sort of spun me to face him. He got right in my face, hissing that this service was unacceptable and he knew the owner personally and was a regular (I actually was a regular and had never seen this guy before as far as I could remember, but I figured maybe I just never noticed him, and if he'd noticed me always hanging out there then mistaking me for staff was understandable ) and would have me fired if I didn't bring him the menu RIGHT NOW. I pointed out that the servers there never brought menus to the guests, the menus were in a stack by the entrance so you could grab one as you came in. Furthermore I told him that I didn't work there, and gestured towards a waitress, as I was about to explain the difference between my hoodie and the servers' shirts. The waitress noticed and came over just as the guy was calling me a liar and saying he saw me come out of the kitchen. I pointed out that the restrooms were in the same area as the kitchen door (neither directly visible from his seat), something a regular would know. The waitress politely asked if he needed anything, and he started again about being friends with the owner. She asked "which of the owners do you mean?"
He goes "both of them!" and she looked over his shoulder at the (sole) owner, who was sitting a couple of tables away with a bemused expression, watching this unfold. She asked "Hey [owner], you know this guy?" and he shook his head before getting up and telling the guy it was time for him to leave if he was going to be harassing other customers and staff. Never saw the guy there again, and I got a free (small) beer from the owner as an apology for "the experience" of the preceding minute. 😆
I just spent ten times as long on writing this as I did on arguing with that guy, so getting a whole beer for that is the highest hourly wage I've ever received.

Until I hurt my back last year, I used to ride my bicycle in the evening after work. I’m white and have two daughters. One evening I was riding past a convenience store. A young black woman around the same age as my daughters was crying in the store parking lot. I stopped to ask her what was wrong. She said that she got out of work late, missed the last bus for the evening, and didn’t have a way to get home. I told her I’d give her money for an Uber. Being a parent, I felt sorry for her. Before I could give her the money, a white woman with a gun came barreling out of the store and said she’d seen me “harassing” the young lady on a surveillance camera. Both the young lady and I tried to explain, but the woman with the gun wasn’t listening. She told me to leave immediately or she would call the police. I left and went home. I lived very near the store. A short time later, I saw the young woman walking down the main street that intersects mine and caught up with her. She said the pistol packing mamma gave her a rant about the evils of white supremacy but didn’t offer any help. Consequently, she was going to walk the 8 or so miles home. It was around 10:00 PM, and it takes around 30 minutes to walk a mile, which would put her home around 2:00 AM. I called an Uber, paid for it, and stayed with her until driver arrived. I found it amazing that the woman from the store stuck her self righteous nose where it didn’t belong and didn’t even offer the young lady help getting home. I appreciate that she thought the young lady may have been in danger, but she was so wrapped up in her ranting that she was oblivious to the reality of the situation.

My story: I work in a deli. Lady walks up while I'm helping someone else and just says "chicken salad" I'm still helping the other customer so I gesture to the display of chicken salad behind her. Then she goes, "no. Chicken salad. It's usually right here." Pointing at where we keep leafy salads. I'm getting kinda confused because we haven't had chicken salad over there ever as far as I know, so my response is "oh, it's over here mamn". Gesturing to the other end of our cold case. So I finally finish with the other customer and ask this lady how much she would like, and start scooping some chicken salad, and this is when the bomb drops. She wanted our CRANBERRY WALNUT chicken salad the whole time, and when I told her we didn't have it she stormed off, asking for my name so she could report my TERRIBLE attitude to the manager. Sorry I couldn't read your mind while also doing a genie snap and making what you want appear, lady.

Story 13: I had an opposite experience of that customer. I once went to Old Navy to get jeans and there was a sale sign. When they didn’t ring up that way, I politely said the sign said they were on sale. Cashier asked where, I point it out, and a person who I think was her manager basically explains the sign was supposed to be taken down but it wasn’t and I got the discount anyway. I like to think my politeness helped that go smoother
