Thanks for talking about Woolly World! Personally, I kinda do feel like it doesn’t get much attention it deserves nor have I hear a lot of people talk about it either. I even thought to myself that this might be the only entry that is on par with the Og Yoshi’s island. Just about everything about it is amazing imo. Knowing it was developed by Good-Feel, being the same guys made Wario Land Shake it and Kirby’s Epic Yarn (both being one of my fav games in their respective series), I knew i’d love this game. I rlly do hope they make something similar to this or at least the Og Yoshi’s island.
I'm guessing Yoshi's Woolly World wasn't ported to the Switch because Crafted World was planned to release the year after the Switch before getting delayed, so maybe they felt Woolly World port wasn't necessary or something, similar to how they didn't port over Smash Wii U because of Ultimate releasing early in the Switch. Though I do feel they could've ported it over later into the Switch's life to give us something Yoshi before the next mainline Yoshi game for the Switch 2, since Good Feel worked on Princess Peach Showtime after
This and Xenoblade X are the Wii U's strongest soldiers at this point. I know Crafted World exists but it's been enough time that releasing Woolly World on Switch wouldn't really impact the other's sales.
It’s really unfortunate that the follow up to Wolly World was Crafted World which isn’t necessarily a bad game but a big downgrade from Wolly World. I’m hoping in the next couple years, they give Yoshi another shot similar to how they did Wolly World
