    I have spent about two weeks looking at all the BuildADrumSander vids on CZcams. Trust me when I say, those cog'd wheels underneath that table are THE coolest thing I have seen yet! What an amazing job!

    Hello there, this is an excellent execution, thanks for sharing. When will the plans be available? or, do you have drawings for the gears separately?

    I would have perhaps put the on off switch on the side of the machine that you are feeding the wood from. Otherwise, awesome build !

    What is that green material you're using for the drum? I saw it in the disk sander video too.

    Hi, I like your design. Are you going to make a power feed? What is the drum made up of? Thanks for sharing.

      Yes. In the next video. The drum is made of mdf disks, I dont have a video about that.

    Good morning.
    I see the plans for the drum sander and feeder mechanism is not available currently. Would it be available soon and what would the price be?

      I will still take some time to make the model available with the feed rollers.
      I'm changing facilities and this will make me stop working for 2 or 3 months.
      Thank you.

    wonderful job .. 2 questions tho how fast is the drum turning and what kind of sandpaper did it have a cloth backing or just a paper backing

    • @FromTheWood
      @FromTheWood  Před 7 lety

      The drum turn 2850 rpm. I put a sandpaper paper backing because i had it. The cloth backing is stronger.
      Thanks

      watch that you dont use emery cloth, or you will end up with a grey or black coating on your wood, any sandpaper bound with iron oxide will do something called ebonization and will destroy the natural look of your wood over time. you might not notice it right away but it will darken the longer its left unless you sand it out. and if it gets wet it will colour it deeper.

    • @dennisbuckner6957
      @dennisbuckner6957 Před 7 lety

      @sam delapp that will only happen if the emery has been used on steel from my experience i lucked into a pallet load of belt sander belts and been using them for 3 yrs now never had a problem with new emery

    • @samdelapp9042
      @samdelapp9042 Před 7 lety

      its iron oxide that does it, emery is bound to the cloth with an iron oxide glue, which gives it its red appearance. it will still happen from clean emery but not to the extent that loose iron particles would. you lucked out on a whole [pallet of sanding belts?!@?! what size and type? that is a mighty fine score.
