- Get ready for some real heavy eating. In this installment of Chef's Night Out, we head out with Jeremiah Stone and Fabian von Hauske the Chef/Owner's of Contra & Wildair, two of the hottest restaurants in Manhattan's, Lower East Side.
After rounding up the troops, the guys headed out from Contra to hit up Rebelle, a new French-inspired restaurant on the Bowery by head chef Daniel Eddy. Daniel kicked things off by sending out the usual culprits-cured meats, foie gras, and beef tartare-and then it was on to some lobster and a massive veal porterhouse. After that it was time for some pizza, so we head uptown to Rocky Slims for a few slices and some 90-day aged beef.
Now stuffed to the brims, the guys head over the bridge to Brooklyn to visit James Murphy's new wine bar and restaurant The Four Horseman. They expected to have a glass of wine, and then head out, but wound up staying for more cured meats, potatoes, and tartare. Barely able to keep their eyes open, the guys head back to Wildair to wrap up the night, where Jeremiah snaps out of it and whips up a noodle dish he likes to call "Chinese Bolognese." Quite the accomplishment, considering he was fast asleep only a few minutes before.

I dont understand why some people here are being so harsh and trying to be critics. They were just nice normal dudes. Theres this idea floating around that to be a chef you have to be a wild, slightly insane, drunk party animal and so people seem to be disappointed anytime this isnt true. Chefs are just normal people who love to cook.
we don't go on vice to see normal people. it's vice after alll, hello?
Actually they aren't dudes. "Jeremiah" Stone is a lesbian woman. *She* does not post pronouns or pride flags or celebrate pride or support LGBTQ. "F2Ms" (those are transgender women; they would call themselves men) are legion in the restaurant industry and food content on CZcams and Instagram. Almost none of them post pronouns or are out as 'trans'. The media is not explaining to people that these are gay people trying to be straight and disappear into the straight world. They don't want to live in gay neighborhoods or be gay or just sit in a coffee shop as a gay person. Jeremiah left NYC in 2022 during the weekend of gay pride - that's what almost all of them do. THEY ARE ASHAMED TO BE LGBTQ.
That all looked amazing, and I'd love to try any of it. If you care more about the chef's personal style than how the food feels and tastes in your mouth, you're doing it wrong.
I love Chef's night out!
Considering how many episodes of Chef's Night Out Munchies has made, you would expect that people would stop bitching about them being hipsters and just stop watching these if seeing someone like these people pisses them off so god damn much. But no, I guess people would just like to call everyone featured on the show hipster trash and get pissed off for no reason.
Its always the same comments on each one
As a cook I welcome hipsters . come in spend that big tech money. 45$ for flavored fried air on a floating plate . one slice of the best meat you ever ate 29$. I love hipsters .
