It is required to hace Lidar? In wich models works?
If can only export to USDZ format for Object Capture API, then can it be converted to GLB as I would like to import it to some metaverse platforms?
When I 3D scan using lidar in Kiri engine app, it makes this annoying noise while scanning. Is that normal or is it something wrong with my iphone 15 Max?
So far I'm impressed with this app. Question, I made my first test in FBX, but didn't realize only OBJ comes with textures. Can I change my model in the app to OBJ and re-export?
FBX has texture as well, its embedded into that file. You can re export to another file type but that requires Pro, if you dont want to pay anything you can reupload those images. Because KIRI allows unlimited uploads

Update: I just figured out the issue. When importing this FBX into Cinema 4D 25, if you choose Node Based material, it comes in blank. Standard materials works as expected.
And in relation to the scale, because the measurements aren't right and the application doesn't allow it. I'd like to print my scanned object at the right size.
How can i export quad mesh in kiri engine?

Awesome, I have tried this on my android phone and it's works. The only question that I had is, is those photo has privacy? There are a lot free 3D objects that are listed in the library that you have updated every Tuesday. Is my scan project also will be displayed in the library section?
That's a great question! When you are uploading the photos to our server to generate 3D models, there is a "visibility" toggle that you can choose to turn off. Your 3D models will be private if you turn that off

1. a photo of the object you were trying to scan so I can take a good look at the object itself
2. which scan mode you used, was it Photo Scan or Featureless Object Scan or Object Capture?
3. If you could also send the model link, it would really help me identify the problems.

When will Quad Remesh & Auto UV Mapping be added to Object Capture Mode?
Hey! Thanks for the question, and it's a great one! To be honest, with the recent 3D Gaussian Splatting and Vision Pro stuff, we haven't really gotten the chance to work on improving Object Capture Mode, but Quad Remesh and UV Unwrapping for Object Capture is definitely on our pipeline. From the current pace, I'd say it will still take around two- three months

I'm using an android. I did get good models. What am I losing by not using an iPhone? Is it still worth it to get the pro version?

Great job, folks. I would love to see an option to store in a format compatible with Meshroom - which is also free - or pro programs like 3D Zephyr. (Then I would also ask for compatibility with 3D printers, but I know nothing of that world.)
My goal - I break a part. I scan it and print a new one. Now _that's_ useful...😉
Hi there! Thank you so much for commenting. Actually, all the suggestions you made are possible in KIRI Engine :) You can export 3D files in OBJ, GLTF, USDZ, and STL, which are compatible with Meshroom, 3D Zephyr and 3D printers :)
Can we scan an image and get a 3D scan of it ? Or it has to be only done on an object?
You mean getting a 3D model of the contents in the image? Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way :( You have to physically 3D scan an object

Yeah, unfortunately it's iOS only because of the LiDAR :( We are working on something similar to bring to Android, but it will still take some time

Hi there! It's actually pretty simple, just open any 3D models you made on KIRI Engine app, and there is a big "export" button on the bottom of the 3D model viewer :)
Possible to scan a whole car? i cant flip the car to its side tho =D
Hey there! Object Capture is photogrammetry-based technology, what that means is that it doesn't deal with shiny/reflective surfaces very well. So you could scan a whole car but to get a better scan you'll need to wait until your car is dirty and mudy haha :) But did you try our new 3DGS scan? CAN YOU MEASURE A PERSONS BODY? AND GET A BODY SCAN WITH MEASUREMENTS?
It would be hard with the Object Capture feature that I was talking about in this video, but in KIRI Engine there's photo scanning mode and featureless object scanning mode that can 3D scan a person body better than the Object Capture. Feel free to give it a try :)
Is it possible to scan a head/body? Also is it scaled to real life? Would be nice to make a 3d scan for 3d printing / modeling

@@cybernetix86 Thanks for answering my question. If you can impomt into Blender then scaling and the rest can be figured out. (perhaps include a reference object of know dimensions in the initial scans?) Now I have to pry the 15 Pro out of my wife's hands to try it!🙃
I have an ipad air 5 that is supposed to have lidar but Kiri wont do lider scans.
Hey there! Actually, since version 2.9, we now not only support LiDAR scan, but also Object Capture scans :DDD And these features are completely free!
Ohhhh, actually. Your iPad Air 5 doesn't have LiDAR unfortunately :( Only iPad Pros and iPhone Pros have LiDAR
How can i use turn table?
Great question Mohammad! The Object Capture mode in KIRI Engine doesn't support using a turntable, but our Photo Scan mode in KIRI Engine mode does! And the Photo Scan mode in KIRI Engine is also free! So to use a turntable, use the Photo Scan mode and before taking videos you will see three options above the photo-taking button: Manual capture, auto capture, and turntable mode. Choose to use turntable mode and enjoy 3D scan :DDD

WWDC ‘21 is about 2 years ago, not 3. Object capture has only been released in october ‘21. So 2 years ago ;)

Haha, everything seems to take money from us hard workers nowadays, right? Totally feel you! And you know you don't have to pay to use the app at all, for example, the Object Capture feature in this video is completely FREE, and so is our powerful photogrammetry scan (aka photo scan in the app). It's only if you need to use more advanced features, we will have to charge users a subscription fee because it helps our small but dynamic company to survive and deliver better technologies in the future.
