Well, I've tried to make this video as fair as possible for all five apps. But you know us, we are the creator of KIRI Engine, and we love our product like our own baby. So I couldn't help but spend more time talking about KIRI Engine than the other four :P But anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the video and can take something new away from this video.

Subbed and went all in on Kiri Engine for a year. Your app is great, all the best man, keep pushing the boundaries!
Oh wow!! Thank you so so much for the support barry! Let me know if you ever run into issues or problems!!
Thanks for the good comparison video! You did a great job highlighting many of the topics of interest! 👏👏👏
Thank you so much Kevin!
Your channel is going to blow up!! great production, information, and flow.
Thank youuuu! Have you seen our KIRI Engine official channel? www.youtube.com/@KIRI_Engine_App
Awesome! You helped me a lot to understand the technology and choose wich one I will use in my projects. 😎
All the best.
My pleasure man!! It feels nice to know my video really got to help people :DDDD
Which is the best app to use in AutoCAD software exporting the point cloud in . RCS? Thank you!
seriously assumed this channel would have at least 100k subs. Really excellent production quality, I hope you can find success in your goals.
Wow, thank you so much!! Yeah, I'll keep the good content coming, stay tuned :)
Super helpful. Dense content. no fluff. Love it!
Thank you so much!!! Glad you liked it :D
I tried Luma AI, I tried PolyCam, and I tried Kiri Engine for Photogrammetry. Today, I purchased a Kiri Engine 1 Year subscription because the quality is unmatched. I can't wait to see what you do with 3DGS launching next week. I trust Kiri Engine will provide a smooth experience for game asset and level design tools that perform better than most UE5 asset capturing tools on the market. TEAM KIRI LET"S GO.
Wowow! Thank you so much for the support!! Yeah, 3DGS coming next week along with my video explaining our vision with 3DGS. Stay tuned!!!

Replied and no video has been posted. Not sure about downloading KIRI
May I ask what device you are using kiri on AND what generally are you scanning? I have s22 ultra and couple years old iPad pro (with lidar). I just purchased my first 3d printer. I'm looking to use both scanning and printing to help mentor FTC Robotics (high school club). Thanks for any help/comments/support! Be safe and happy holidays - how ever you celebrate. ~ Rich
@@jackisbuildingkiri2997 when do you launch 3dgs video?
It's already launched in November :)@@nilotheking
amazing production thank you
Hey m8 :D
You deserve a sub good sir!
Great comparison video :)
Hello, nice video!
I would like to know if the app is appropriate for 3D face scan to use in dental field?
Excellent Review - thx so much
Isn't this a conflict of interest ? This guy is the CEO of Kiri giving a review of his own product but he doesn't state any affiliation with Kiri. It's kinda weird... I will still try kiri but this review cannot be more biased knowing this.
Hey, copper_knight! Yes, I confess :) I tried to make the review as fair as possible, as I stated in the video, many people have asked me if there are any differences between 3D scanner apps, and it led me to make this video hoping people would get to know a little more about our industry. While making this video, I did realize I was not the right person to do this because of the conflict of interest, and my deepest love for what KIRI has achieved. But I mean after all these software I stated in the video are all free to try, I think it wouldn't hurt to try them all and let me know what you think of them
@@jackisbuildingkiri2997 Good :) I think you needed to see how it looks from our point of view. It could be seen as disengenous. If you would have made the exact same video and be upfront about who you were and be full transparent it would look better for you. I haven' t tried all the others but I have tried yours and it works. I keep hearing good comments on your app, it would be a shame to get some bad press because of this. I am evaluation what would be the best setup for photogrammetry of people. Let's say that I would buy a phone spcecifically for this purpose, what would you recommend ? I would prefer Android (Samsung galaxy S24) but if there is a significant difference with Apple then I'll go with Apple. The version of Kiri on Android seems to be different than IOS, is it better ?
@@copper_knight Hey cooper knight! Thank you so much for understanding :) And I will take your suggestion next time when I need to make another video like this. Back to your question, I would always recommend using an iPhone Pro (but doesn't matter too much if it's the latest iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro) Not only because iPhone Pro has the best cameras for computer graphics algorithms, it also has a LiDAR sensor which we have developed extra features for it such as Object Capture, RoomScan, and Scene Scan.
Auch he is the ceo. Btw scanning small object doesnt give justice to the power of kidar. Go scan a room building or whole area or sumthing
What app do you recommend to scan cylindrical items and unroll the image flat in software?
Just starting out on my 3d scanning journey! Super helpful content. They all seem to handle small objects fairly well. Curious about which app you would recommend for larger scans (e.g. a 360* scan of a person)?
Heyyy welcome to the game!! scanning a person is typically harder for 3D scanner apps because you need to make sure the person you are scanning is as static as possible. The Featureless Object Scan mode in KIRI Engine handles person movements much better than photogrammetry and LiDAR, it is more tolerant to the movement. So I recommend using the Featureless Object Scan for scanning a person with KIRI Engine. But you can also try LiDAR on Polycam, I've seen some good result that people got using Polycam's LiDAR feature, but it requires you to have an iPhone or iPad Pro models
I really appreciate your knowledge
I'm flattered!!! Thank you so so much for the support
One might think that it's shady that you suggest your own app over the others, however the advantages and disadvantages you pointed out really aren't biased in any way. I really appreciate that. Thank you for this video, and for Kiri!
Thank you so much Daniel! But yeah it was my bad, I'll make sure to indicate my relationship with KIRI in my future videos to acknowledge viewers, but yeah I try to be very fair in explaining the features haha, thank you for the support :D
Amazing!! Would love to see a tutorial for how to export properly to reprint STLs
Good call! Putting that on my to-do list
@@jackisbuildingkiri2997 pumped for it!
Pbr is good for simplifying some textures but the bad thing is that its somethimes less detailed , so if you want an extremely detailed texture you should probably use reality scan (i hope kiri will add a setting to diseable pbr)
Thanks for sharing the great insight! I didn't know this before, but actually you can choose to include or not include PBR in KIRI 😁
I see potential on using different apps for the same purpose, like making a game that has a same object through time one new and the other decayed through time, instantly achieved , that I say is cost and time savings.
This looks great. Going to give Kiri a try. The annual deal is unbeatable in the moment.💯 Let's scan some stuff.
Thank you so much!! Let me know if you run into any questions in the future
Great information! Are any able to do a side by side comparison of two separate 3D images?
Hi there. I don't think any of those apps could do what you described. Do you mind sharing a bit more information about it? Like what do you intend to do with the side-by-side comparison? We may be able to find some way to help you with that
Is there an offline application for Kiri? I don't want to upload my private images if you know what I mean... (data security etc.)
Nice 👍
How do you animate the items after scanning, in terms of keyframing? Thanks
Thanks for commenting :D 3D scanner apps like KIRI Engine is only capable of generating rigid 3D models. I've seen many people use mixamo to animate people 3D scan, you can check it out mixamo.com
@@jackisbuildingkiri2997 gracias 🙏
You should make a video on importing the file to a plateform like onshape
This is an amazing video.
If we are considering Glaussian Splatting as well as a feature what app would you ssay is the best app for creating levels for Unreal Engine
Haha, at this moment Luma has the best 3DGS, much better than Polycam. But wait until KIRI Engine's 3DGS update next week. It will support both Android and iOS.
I purchased a Kiri Engine 1 Year subscription. Can't wait!@@jackisbuildingkiri2997
I have a question: I looked up your video to find some tech that would make it possible to scan an existing door frame so that a perfectly fitting door could be manufactured based on the scan. Is there anything that you would recommend?
Yes, I recommend to use an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro that has a LiDAR sensor, then use the LiDAR scan option in KIRI Engine or Polycam or Scaniverse to scan the door frame. LiDAR scan will give you a real-world scale :) Have fun
How do you upload drone video to to the web browser for Nerf?
Great question, and unfortunately at this point the answer is you can't upload drone video for NeRF :( We are developing this feature right now but there are some technical details we need to toggle to allow local video upload for NeRF, and one of them is to make sure the video length is within 2min, and if it exceeds the 2 min limit, we need to provide a easy trim tool so users can trim the uploaded video to 2 min. But it's in development, stay tuned :D

Hi Jack great video. I am thinking of scanning the inside features of a boat so that I can design internal cupboards etc Would Kiri app work for this application or would a LiDAR iPhone be better? Many thanks
Hey John! thanks for commenting haha! Yes, for reverse design, KIRI Engine works great. If you just need some dimension measure, don't need super great visual quality, I recommend you use the LiDAR scan feature in KIRI Engine (We have LiDAR now for iPhone and iPad Pro models) :D
Thanks Jack I have just tried my first attempt at creating a 3d model with Kiri Engine and it worked pretty well I think.I don’t have a LiDAR phone but looks like it might be the way to go having just watched your video on object capture. Still need to work out the process of getting the model into my CAD package Onshape to design the bits I need for my boat Very interesting project. Many thanks for the info.

Thanks bro
No problem! Glad I'm able to help. BTW, we just updated KIRI Engine, it now supports LiDAR and the new Object Capture, if you have a LiDAR equipped iPhone, give it a try! It's completely free
Hello! I wanted to ask if by scanning an item in the KIRI program it is possible to make a 3D print of this item in a 1 to 1 ratio? Based on the scanned item, I would like to model an addition to it and print it in 3D to match it. Is it possible? Having no volume or size, just a photo?
Hey Michael! You are correct, if you use the Photo Scan mode or the Featureless Object Scan mode in KIRI Engine, it won't be 1:1 scale because the algorithm just can't have a sense of the real-world scale. However, the new Object Capture mode in KIRI Engine that's available for all iPhone/iPad Pro users has the real-world scale. If you have an iPhone Pro, you can just use Object Capture mode and it's completely free.
But if you don't happen to use an iPhone Pro, there are workarounds to manually scale the model, here is a tutorial video from our friend Kevin: czcams.com/video/axdPIc6FqQU/video.htmlsi=Q8M7iPAV3UW2Ijaj&t=324

I legit subscribed to your channel faster than the time it took you to say "Hey, everyone, my name is Jack" 😂❤🎉
Thank you so much for the fast sub hahah, I'll make sure I say those words faster next time :D
Is there any soft that combines those technologies to get better quality results?
From the technology point of view, it's close to impossible to combine all the technologies together to deliver better quality. The closes thing right is KIRI Engine (no ads, it's true :D) Cuz, KIRI Engine is the only app right now that has all the modes I talked about in the video and more.
Im looking for a scaner to scan products for my clients and implement 3D product view in their Webshops. Any advice?
Hey there! Thanks for the question! Yes, the better solution to your need is the 3D Gaussian Splatting. I literally showed the entire process of how you can create a 3D Gaussian Splatting model and use it on Wix, here is the video: czcams.com/video/z6gYBmu-AvQ/video.htmlsi=rNKSIvIPapMqX8yu
I am looking to scan large trees, with all branches but no texture necessary. Ideally, I would prefer not to have to climb them. What app would you recommend for this? Thank you, this video is fantastic!
This sounds like a hard task :( Basically, the idea of 3D scan is that you have to let the camera see all the details of the object you are scanning. So if you are scanning a large tree and also need to scan all the branches, you have to take photos of all those... so not climbing is not an option haha. But I fear even if you could climb, you won't get a perfect result because there are just too many branches... Having said that, maybe you can try taking photos around the tree trunk, then fly a drone to take other photos around the branch. Then use KIRI Engine on web browsers to upload these images, but again, this is a hard task, so expect some trial and error :D
Thank you so much for your answer, Jack. I guess I will have to go back to childhood and spend my days climbing trees again; not the end of the world! Thanks again!!
My pleasure! But be careful if you have to climb it lol Try flying a drone first, it's safer and probably will get you better result than just climbing it@@unamor
How good would this be on scanning my dog he moves a lot too?
Haha, not good for all applications :( 3D scanner apps can only scan stationary objects. If you are looking to scan a person or a dog, the best shot would be bring him/her to a photogrammetry booth (many cities has this kind of service) where a lot of cameras capture him/her at the same time
Subscribed!
I need to scan heads in order to have 3Ds of faces and create costum sunglasses. Which technology will give me the best results? And with which software? Thanks :)
I recommend the Featureless Object Scan on KIRI Engine. Because the trickiest part in scanning human head is that it's not perfectly stationary during scanning. The Neural Surface Reconstruction approach in Featureless Object Scan is more tolerant to the object's movement comparing with others
@@jackisbuildingkiri2997 Grazie mille 🤩

Thanks haha, new video is coming, stay tuned :)
I would love if this comparision is extended with low- and mid-budget 3D hardware scanners, (350-1500 EUR), especially with a view on 3D re-production via 3D printing. Which method and workflow is the best for tiny details or from a ROI (time/budget) perspective. Using a hardware scanner can be much faster than taking a tons of photos. How good does NeRF fit in here?
That's a great great suggestion! Let me put that in my to-do list. Shopping time haha
Hey Marcus, just took in the suggestion and made this comparison video :) Feel free to check it out: czcams.com/video/TvNf0kg-gZE/video.htmlsi=0SA79Nus9_CHxsTK
How small of an object would Kiri be able to scan? Say maybe something as small as a 3cm needle?
Hey Bushra, thanks for your question! It actually depends on if you can use a zoom camera to capture enough details of an object even if it's 3cm small. If you want to capture something tiny, the best chance is to use a telescope camera to capture the details of it and use the upload from local option in KIRI Engine to upload those photos
Mate I only want good things for you. As far as I can tell you nailed it.

How does Kiri perform with scanning interior spaces / floors plans?
Hi kasper, thanks for asking :) For interior spaces and floor plans, we have a dedicated feature for that on iPhone Pro and iPad Pro models, it's called RoomScan under the LiDAR Scan option. And while it's already available on KIRI Engine, we are going to introduce an updated version in the coming weeks to improve the algorithms capability and accuracy
after scanning how do you export the file to use on a website?
To embed the 3D model on a website, we have a comprehensive tool for that.
1. Log in to the KIRI Engine Web portal with your KIRI Engine account: www.kiriengine.app/web-version/
2. Find and open the 3D scan that you wish to use on your website
3. On the top right of the 3D model viewer, you will find a button called "Embed"
4. Copy the embed code to your clipboard
5. For most of the website builder such as Wordpress, Wix, Shopify, etc. There will be an option that you can paste the embed code to a window. And that's how you and embed and interact with the 3D model from KIRI Engine :D
Scaniverse uses also Photogrametry!
Yeah, that was my bad :( I will put correction on this video
Does Kiri store the models it's processes and is the HQ china? This is important information for businesses that may use this for personal information. I think despite bias - this is a good comparison.
Thank you Adam for the comment! I'll try to make less biased video in the future for everyone's information only :) But to your questions, no, we use AWS storage services across the globe, the data are stored in different AWS servers depending on where you are.
What is the extension of scaning l have ? because I want to use it for 3d printer
KIRI Engine, Polycam, and some other apps can export STL files, it's perfect for 3D printing :)
@@jackisbuildingkiri2997 thanks, can i have the exactly dimensions of models that i work on ?(real model=printed model in every thing)
@@amrel-mahdy5335 To have the exact dimension of the 3D model, you will need an iPhone Pro or iPad Pro that has s LiDAR sensor, and for example, you can try the Object Capture option in the KIRI Engine under LiDAR Scan, this will give you a detailed 3D model with exact real-world dimension
@@jackisbuildingkiri2997 many thanks
But you didnt mentioned that you need to pay for all that features in kiri. Im a simple user and if to compare all these apps - they are all same. Benefit of reality scan is that it show point cloud and photos in 3d space after several photos and fast upload for computing each done photo.
Hey there! I totally agree with you! If you just need a simple solution, the photogrammetry mode in KIRI Engine is free like Reality Scan. But from a start-up point of view, when we think of growing and surviving, I'd like to think about who is willing to pay for our product. And the answer to me is that the paying users are those who need advanced features to fit in their actual 3D workflow. So we made a lot of very advanced features so it could be of use for some serious users so our company can have enough cash flow to grow.
It is goood. hope future will intro Gaussian algorithm?
Yes, absolutely! The next video about 3DGS will be posted on our official channel haha, feel free to follow KIRI Engine youtube channel :D
Looks good in 2024 but id like to look up competitors versions doing simikar things.
No SiteScape?
haha I do have SiteScape on my radar, as a LiDAR scanner app, I personally rated scaniverse over SiteScape unfortunately :(
Thanks
Anytime qwell :)
I think you forgot to mention that NeRFs aren't supposed to export meshes, they are meant to be viewed with a NeRF visualizer, meaning that your results with Kiri and Luma are not indicative of the quality that they can give
Hey Marcel, that's a great point! I actually made another video comparing our NeRFs and others; technically speaking, we don't use NeRFs but rather a variant technology called NeuS, or we call it Neural Surface Reconstruction (NSR). What's cool about it is that our NSR can actually generate mesh, so it inherited all the good things about NeRFs, like the ability to capture shiny and transparent objects. Check this out: czcams.com/video/f6vuY-RJtq8/video.htmlsi=cXjOvLZWT3UWprCr
USDZ support would be spectacular 🤩
Actually KIRI Engine does support USDZ file export, enjoy :))

kinda biased review and you didn't disclose your relation with Kiri engine
I like mistakes. Cheaper to work with mistakes of others(tech). Construction industry have tools to measure alignment of buildings, auto 360deg optical-level, laser-level (light emitter), (light-emitter) laser range-finder, (no digress with the foot kick-step peg of tripod but concentrate on the optical stabilizing and auto-levelling). Artillery have range-finder and calculators for trajectory. Quick edge detection to match video-frames(after processing to remove issues of progressive-sensor-scan and to build interlace then build non-interlace before comparing frames - typical engineers and their cheap mentality with pompous excuses of maximizing profits to feed their minions). After have edges as reference points, texture-tech and filler-tech are subsets. Using old 4 core arm processor of TV-boxes under $usd+70 as a starting baseline for bigger niche. The performance from 5 to 0.5 to 1, 30fps gives 3 frames per second approximates, layer tech for edge and area.sss to be processed by optional AI to generate a coarse map (social media bandwidth complains limiters of receiving parties) at a sweeping hand movement of walking adult and generate a finer map for slower baby-tram powered by underpowered cheap remote-control car motor for more serious usage (retail shop)...
Find social niche in year 2024 after COVID-19 and money returns on investment for consumer and developer. ROI for consumer is often left out. If the purchase isn't generating a value to save-money or increase profit or increase some objective in a person's life, it is worthless and not worth a dime to him/her.
After calculations, later tech subsets and set pivot-points where the other algorithm take precedence. Example, LiDAR before NeRF or NeRF before photogrammetry then LiDAR.
Politicians destroyed engineers and engineers destroyed politicians but all are pressed for money from those they destroyed.
Pros-Cons
= Weaknesses of algorithm
= Strength of algorithm
Proprietary emitter... Ambient lighting
Range setting
Having both sides of the coin, in those categories... Who will not complain about fame and fortune of others.? Jealous societies...
To shoot an airshow, the upper limit must be specified before the lower limit. The algorithm with range and double for 2x ranges to narrow down processing. The pairing of subsets of coarse to fine is coarse at low-resolution for edge, coarse texture at low resolution, as a pair, then fine resolution with coarse edges, then fine resolution with fine edges the coarse texture within higher resolution mask with fine texture, then maybe shape up the edges of fonts and eyebrows with eye-liner... Pairing of non-AI... Pivot-points for speed.
Reserve all for self/industry is to defeat the core-objective of monetizing and instead run-down progressively and over-time, budget-resources. Similar to concepts of price-protect. These non-democratic business-"sensibilities" of engineers who snob business-and-finance, snob banking-and-finance, snob baseline accounting-costing, cost-accounting, economics, budgeting-costing, ... - are religious-"logic". This is the game others watch the cronies, playing the system(politicians). PhD vs Politics (office and country and society). All claiming to be smart.
I see you fall over yourself with glee!
I'm deleting Kiri because of this dishonesty
Hey, I totally understand :( I Feel sorry if this video made you uncomfortable. You know I hate running ads on social media, so I thought I could help people understand KIRI Engine in a better way. I'm putting disclaimers on all my future videos if I are to mention others' products
Do you often cut off your nose to spit your face? I'm trying to figure out how Jack was dishonest other than not stating that he is affiliated with KIRI? Did he misrepresent the others? I'm pretty sure that the video is fairly accurate. KIRI is arguably the best even if you do have to pay for it.
I tried PolyCam and Kiri Engine for Photogrammetry, Polycam is sooo better (Mainly the mesh), Kiri Engine is a bit shity... This video is just an advertising of Kiri engine... So... 👺
Hi there! Thanks for commenting! It's likely you got this impression when trying to scan a low-texture object like a water bottle or a simple Lego figure or something? Polycam uses Apple's API and it tends to do better scanning low-texture objects, however the result is still far from being usable. That's why for scanning low-texture objects, we have a separate option called Featureless Object Scan mode. You should give a try :D It will be mind blowing
agree
@jackisbuildingkiri2997 Is there a PC version of nerf? A mix of nerf photogrammetry and kinect would be a dream!
Frankly speaking, Kinect was never good enough for detailed 3D scanning :( But one step closer to da dream is that KIRI Engine now has Object Capture mode. Which uses iPhone's LiDAR sensor and photogrammetry and a little bit Neural Engine. Here is the link to the video: czcams.com/video/TeIi0BsR1Qs/video.htmlsi=h0YJEzdvYMY1tV1C
