Great question! It's all about shader writing. There are actually some open-sourced 3DGS add-ons for Unreal, you can take a look at those and rewrite it on Godot.

Thanks for the question! Unfortunately at this moment, it's not possible, haha we need to attract more native users to KIRI Engine :P But we do have plans to open this conversion feature online so other people can upload their 3DGS data to turn them into mesh

Although software like KIRI Engine won't automatically give you the real-world dimension of the 3D model, you can easily rescale it on pretty much all 3D software like fusion360. And the accuracy can be pretty high if you accurately rescale the model

@@tyj1234able Great question, and surprisingly, the answer is no :) People have been having this LiDAR hype for a while, but as soon as they actually get their hands on the LiDAR scan, they'll realize the 3D scan quality directly from LiDAR sensor is unusable in any actual use cases. Although our recent Object Capture feature that utilizes the LiDAR data and combined it with photogrammetry to greatly improve the end result, in the end it is no better than our full-power photogrammetry from the Photo Scan mode. So, in short, if Object Capture can generate a good 3D model of an object, Photo Scan will only do better; But if a photo scan can't make a good 3D scan of an object, so won't the Object Capture

Unfortunately no :( For local processing, you'd need a computer software like Metashape which would be 3000 dollars for the license

Yes, unfortunately some of the tutorials we had to use a downloadable Blender add-on, we'll try to make more tutorials in the future that don't require additional add-ons

I didn't get a chance to use Twinmotion yet, it will need to support 3D Gaussian Splatting rendering because 3DGS isn't a traditional mesh. Although KIRI Engine has a feature to generate mesh-inclusive 3DGS, for such a powerful rendering engine like Twinmotion, frankly speaking, I don't think the mesh quality from the mesh inclusive 3DGS is the best, I suggest use our pure 3DGS scan

Hi there! Yes, the 3D model is directly compatible with Fusion 360, you can export 8 different file formats including USDZ, GLTF, FBX, OBJ, STL, etc..

When you get yours you'll know, its surface finish is weird, it got a skin-like touch, really comfortable but it's not the type of material that will last forever

I have a few more questions: 1.When removing the background from intricate parts, such as a fan's grille, a mug handle, or wires from a black object, what's the best approach? 2.Does it make a difference if I use a white, green, or another colored background? 3.If there are markings on the background, like dots, does it assist the app in the background removal process? 4.When scanning larger objects, like the size of a car, would it be better to have fixed lighting that illuminates everything or directional lighting in the area being photographed, such as a ring light with soft light connected to the camera?

@@romulotrindadealves6611 Hey, great questions, man. Let's answer them :) 1. To remove some parts from a 3D model, you'd first need to export the 3D scanned model as quad mesh for better editability (This is one of our advanced export features, so, unfortunately it's also a paid feature). And when you have the quad mesh of the 3D model, you can then do the part removal process on third-party 3D software such as Blender. But to be able to properly remove the parts from a 3D object, you'd need some 3D modeling skills to help 2. Using backdrops when making a 3D scan doesn't really help that much in today's 3D scanning. Using a white backdrop will, tho, help you get the 3D model with neater texture quality, but that's pretty much it 3. No, it won't improve the background removal. We use an AI algorithm that automatically tells the object from a background, and it's pretty smart as far as you include the whole object in the photoset, not just a part of it.

@@romulotrindadealves6611 and 4. When scanning a car, specifically speaking. Yes, an even and smooth lighting environment will absolutely help with the result. But more importantly, to get a good 3D model of a car scan, the car itself needs to have a lot of features points (I know we have featureless object scan, but frankly speaking, it doesn't do well with car scan). So, in my experience a dirty car will work better than a brand-new shiny car

I'm so glad to see you agree with my point as I have stated in the later part of this video :) Exactly like you said, by converting 3DGS to a mesh, it loses all the advantages of being 3DGS. But before 3DGS receive massive adaptation to major 3D creation pipeline (which we are working really hard on), in order for users to use 3DGS, we need a intermediate solution to convert it to mesh

Hi there! Thanks for the question :) Actually, a small jewelry would be very hard to scan even for KIRI Engine, I'm afraid it's too extreme even for the paid version. The only way you can get great results when scanning a jewelry is to apply a special coating spray on its surface to make it not that reflective.
