- ITPM Flash provides insight into what professional traders are thinking about in the markets RIGHT NOW! In this episode, Ed Shek delves into the strategic reasoning behind adding a rotation trade to his portfolio. Ed discusses the current two-tier market scenario, dominated by high-performing hyperscalers and underperforming value stocks. He explains why now is the time he wants to rotate out of a high performing stock to a value-based alternative, despite the prevailing market trends. Through analysis of earnings growth rates, liquidity flows, and economic indicators, Ed makes a compelling case for a cautious yet proactive approach to portfolio management. Watch the full video to find out more about how to build and manage your portfolio in the current market environment!

#Excellent way to look at the market right now. There should be lots of opportunities looking at this kind of trade.
Excellent ideas and insights as always. TGT is indeed interesting for some rotation tailwind, although the valuation looks slightly above the pre-COVID average. Just to add some details from a price action standpoint: The consumer staples sector (XLP) looks like it's in an ascending triangle on an uptrend, with chance of breakout by end of August, which would be good for TGT. And TGT itself looks like it would rally once it can break the 149 level, which corresponds to a long term 5 year trendline. And then there's an amazing channel at play, up to 174 resistance, in line with your vertical spread. However, to your point - rotations can happen very quickly, hence waiting for such a confirmation may be against some people's strategy, but I will be waiting for that break point.
Ed! Why not eliminate the ido risk and short SPY500 vs. long SPY500 equal weight? That permits your thesis to play out without taking the risk that a single corporate event derails your view.
SBUX, as well as MCD 3-6 months out
