Wild camping by a mountain stream in the Nordisk Telemark with a plodge and some tasty pheasants

- A quick in and out camp, but what a beauty,
Parked up near the crackingly named Skirl Naked and a quick side step up one of the Cheviot Hills smaller, but no less stunning valleys.
(If you have a bit of familiarity with the hills you can work out where I am)
Alas the burn guarding our pitch was swollen so no help for it but a bit of plodging
A peaceful and beatiful place to camp. Pheasant and chilli were on the menu.
Thank you for watching and all the best!
Graham

Great Camp - Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching- I really enjoyed that little camp, just a quiet little recharge, ATB, Graham 👍
I love walking along that valley although its abit scary in places. My feet are cold just watching the plodge. As you say, getting out in the hills restores the mental batteries. Thanks for sharing your adventures
Thank you for watching. The route can be a little sketchy in places, I didn’t capture it on video but I did slip on a step up on a boulder on the path and ended up flat on my back a little closer to the burn than I wanted!
Definitely great for a recharge, being out and about. ATB, Graham 👍
great vid tks
Thank you, I really enjoyed this little camp, very chilled and peaceful, ATB, Graham 👍
Another lovely video there. My go to after work walk. Really enjoyed that 😊
Thanks Em, I’m didn’t find that little valley until a few years ago- I knew you’d know of it though! Me and Lundy were just saying no one knows the Cheviots like you do, thanks for watching- always appreciated, ATB, Graham 👍👍
Another great vid.... absolutely love it down there great spot 👍👍. Great score with the pheasant too. Enjoyed that mate thanks ATB Simon
Thanks Simon, it’s a good little place to camp and a canny little valley. Not far to walk so great for a last minute pitch or when you haven’t a lot of time. ATB, Graham👍
Hi Graham, great camp and food as always, glad to see you back in a favourite spot
See you soon on our next one
Cheer’s Adrian

Thanks Jimmy, I’ve been given a location for a top secret spot: see you there!
@@grahamswildcamping it's going to be fun 🤣🤣
Canny vid man, mint spot..Its like seeing faces in clouds ie the voices in the waaater 😅
Just realised I haven’t replied, apologies for delay! I think our brains are hardwired to pick up patterns in nature- probably kept us safe round the campfire in the distant past when the sabre tooth was prowling around 👍
Great video , brings back memories. Just remember that when walking on scree you are one letter away from a screem! Take care.
ker
Haha, I’m stealing that!
Enjoyed that Graham.... not sure I'd wild camp atm or wade through a river in winter....but was good to watch. 😊 you and your dreams always make me laugh! 🤪 Hope you had a good Christmas and a happy new year to you.
I love getting out in all seasons, winter can be crisp and beautiful and the lack of midges is a huge plus! But yeah- wading through that burn I could’ve done without 😂 Happy New Year to you as well Louise 👍👍
Nice video Graham. I need to get back in Cheviots for a camp soon.
So many places to choose from up there. Thanks for watching, ATB, Graham 👍
Another good one Graham, it's been years since I was last down that burn, and the sketchy part of the path with all the stones and the gorse bushes hasn't changed much. Brave of you to wade through the stream mind, it looked fast, deep and really cold, no chance I'd have done that lol. Worth it for that canny pitch though. ATB from DVS :)
It is a little sketchy. I slipped on a boulder and ended flat on my back and tumbled down the hill- not on camera unfortunately!
Just glad my specs and camera weren’t damaged 😂
It was worth wading the little burn for the pitch- a lovely little night. TFW Donna, ATB👍
Heyup. Been subbed for time Graham😊. Do enjoy your films especially the pipe tune at the beginnings of your vids. I'm watching them out of sequence, just watching this one now. Fair play on the river crossing given how chilly the water must of been. 👍🏼 Great stuff..
Thanks mate, much appreciated. That’s Silky Nick, my good mate on the Northumbrian pipes. Glad you’re enjoying these little vids, ATVB, Graham 👍👍👍
Nice one Graham, what a peaceful spot to camp in. At the foot of that waterfall is one of my favourite wild swim spots too. Cracking pair of breasts too mate ! 👍
I thought you know where it is straight away, I hadn’t thought of swimming in there, maybe next time! And yeah, the pheasant was pretty good!
Great stuff Graham, looked a cracking spot listening to the stream rushing by 👍 atb Dave ⛺️👍
Thank you it really is a nice little spot, ATB, Graham 👍
You lost.me.when you destroyed the pheasant breasts with so many condiments and sauce that you might as well have just fried up some cheap chicken.
Just why?
Ah well, I guess we all have different tastes! Chilli garlic and pheasant can be a good combination and in truth the flavourings were quite mild and the taste of game shone through.
ATB, Graham 👍
When you add things to cheap chicken it's to give it some flavour and texture, when you add it to pheasant it enhances the overall product. It's like the difference in gravy from using cheap granules to using the meat juices, I know which I prefer. Crack on bonny lad, there's plenty of pheasant in the freezer.
