Paulo the question is why should there be a resurrection. There have been billions of people on this planet so heaven must be over populated with souls by now. A question that needs to be answered is what keeps the soul as a living entity after death? Death is the end of energy in the body so why can there be an energy keeping the soul alive?

He has prepared us many rooms--that according to Jesus. It will be amply equipped, as you will see if you are a believer. @@tdw57 You need to realize that there are over a hundred and ten religions in the world and your religion is just one of them. All have a different interpretation of what god is. What you believe is what you are taught and told to believe. My life became very happy and fulfilled as I began to cast off orthodox religion and started putting my own religion together using reason and facts. I have been a better person to be around and have been able to help others in a more meaningful way. again open your mind to the fact that there are 110 religions in the world and just because you believe in one religion because your parents led you to it does not mean it is more important than any other religion. If you miss that point you will always be a sheep. There is nothing wrong with being a sheep and going though life that way if you are happy. That is why I do not encourage others to drop their religion, it is something a person must do with reasoning.. I have to laugh how religions put a guilt trip and a scare in anyone who thinks about questioning what they are taught or breaking away. The god inside you which is your life force includes the ability to reason for yourself, try using it.

Not sure I agree. I believe paradise typically referred to Abraham’s bosom. From what I understand. Typically. I think the man on the cross went with Jesus there. In Matthew 27 it talks about how saints rose from the grave and spoke to people. I think that’s who Jesus spoke to. I believe Jesus descended into the part of Hell called paradise where the saints were waiting in a peaceful place and He brought them out. The Bible teaches about Abraham’s Bosom in Jesus’ story about Lazarus and the rich man. Some actually believe it wasn’t a parable at all. Could be agrued. But you can't argue with this verse.
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Or Hell.)
I like a lot of these teaches but I’m not on board with this one sorry. Plus I’m not a big fan of different translations adding words that weren’t in the original Greek. Seems dangerous to me

it could be, "Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise." So when He returns, and the criminal is resurrected, He would share paradise with Jesus. Which is what he asked for, for a part of the coming kingdom.
There are many examples in the bible of them saying things this day, or today, so I would try to make the case without this one verse. I testify to you today, or against you today, I teach you today/this day, I command you today, etc.
Paul teaches that the believers who die will come forth from their graves at Jesus’ second coming and then the gift of immortality will be bestowed on them, so this seems to agree with the scriptures more to me.

I believe the word quite plainly tells us that our LORD went down into hades, claiming all those who were His from paradise, and delivered His gospel to all those who died from the time of Noah, that they might be saved, or indeed left for judgement. Our LORD's parable of the rich man and the poor man tells us all we need to know about hades and makes what He does later, very clear.

Some of those added words are needed because word for word translation of the Greek doesn't make sense in English. The words added are those implied by the literal Greek. Other places the translators added words that really are added. Unfortunately I don't read Koine Greek or any other Greek so I can't tell the difference. As you wrote, dangerous. Some translations give literal translations in the notes some places where the additional words are needed.

Trav B dude you are so right. He went down into Abraham’s blossom and took back the keys to Hell death and the grave. Colossians 2 says he spoiled powers and principalities openly. Jesus kicked Satans but and roasted all those demons. His blood then cleansed the mercy seat in heaven, and now all the people that were counted ritcheous in Abraham’s bossom ascended into Heaven. Now we all go to Heaven if you receive Christ!

    • @MrRaverion
      @MrRaverion Před 4 lety +7

Interesting topic. I do want to interject a subject of time and relativity here. My points below I hope will construct an arguement supporting how Jesus descended into hell and rose on the third day and yet have the criminal accompany Jesus Christ into heaven when Jesus said he today you will be with me in paradise. But before I do, I want to establish accepted understandings.
      1. God is the Alfa and Omega.
      2. Alfa means the beginning.
      3. Omega means the end.
      4. Alfa = Omega means no sense of time in heaven.
      5. The Bible states that when the day of judgement arrives, all the living and dead will rise. So how can some sinners be suffering in the hand of demons when judgement has not happened?
      6. How can Jesus Christ descend into hell and rise on the third day?
      7. How can Jesus promise the criminal that he will be with him in paradise today?
The answer is time relativity. You see that no time exist in heaven. Time still exist on Earth. If you view the events of earth in heaven, it is a miniscule fraction of a second. As a mortal on earth, I will eventually die and be in a sleep like trance that will run until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Then all the dead and living will be judged. In heaven, time on Earth has come from beginning to end in the blink of an eye. So Jesus did descend into hell and rise on the third day relative to time on Earth. But time in Heaven was a blink of an eye. In heaven, Jesus was able to promise the criminal the ability to accompany him in heaven today because when the criminal died, he was buried and in a sleep like trance till the day of judgement. That criminal is still to this day in a sleep trance awaiting the day of judgement. But in time relativity in Heaven, all the events that happened on earth happened instantaneously in a blink of an eye so the criminal upon his death felt as if he woke up in heaven. This is liken to when we fall asleep at night and wake up not experiencing every second, minute and 8 hours of sleep that transpired.
Revelations verse 5 shows that Jesus was the first to rise from the dead even though trillions of men and women are in a sleep like trance awaiting the day of judgement. And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.
So all of the time events can happen when you break away the assumption that time is not constant in all the realms God works in. It is all relative as Einstein proved.

1Pet 3:18-20: "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water."
Heb 2:10-16: "For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.” And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again, “Behold, I and the children God has given me.” Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham."
Heb 11:39-40: "And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect."
The perfection of the OT saints came only after the atonement, and after Jesus has released the Bosom of Abraham.
Eph 4:8-10: "Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” ( In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)"
Mat 27:51-53: "And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many."

Hell is of germanic/nordic origin for place of the dead. I used to have a similar theory to yours brother but I believe it to be incorrect
Edit: I think that sheol, hades and hell are synonymous and I'm lead to believe the same for the grave. But my theory was that the grave contains Abraham's Bosom/paradise and hell/hades/sheol across the great gulf. But from what Ive seen grave seems to be synonymous with sheol and sheol with hades. See Acts 2:27 and contrast with Psalm 16:10. NKJV translates Acts verse as Hades and Psalms verse as Sheol since OT references in NT are from LXX

For God loves all of His children on earth, we have His love whether we believe or not. But in Hell, ones soul is completely abandoned by God. They no longer have His presence as they once did on earth. And so did Jesus have some sort of abandonment of God for three days? “My God, My God why have you forsaken me”? I’m not sure .

The people who commit inhumane acts and are not bothered by it are the worst and most dangerous to society. In history Kings and other sole leaders felt justified for inhumane treatment of others to maintain a kingdom or its expansion. Consciousness of actions is determined by the position a person holds. In my book The Direction of Man I stress that the perfect government model is in our biological interior and when we allow one person to rule a nation we are inviting disaster.

The "captivity captive" I believe was the process of Jesus pulling behind him (in His ascension) a long train of OT believer's souls that needed to be held inside a protective power sphere from God to reach Heaven. When they got there? They "got off the bus." That "divine bus" had them locked inside and captive until they reached the designation point.

“”When He ascended He led captive a host of captives “ Ephesians (4:8).This is what that verse means: When Jesus died He went to the heart of the earth for three days and three nights as He said He would (Matthew 12-40)
Thus we know that paradise was at that time in the heart of the earth, because Jesus told the repentant thief that He would be with Jesus in paradise that day. Then Jesus came back into His body(which was in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea) and came out of the tomb. Then He was on earth for another 40 days, and appeared to many people. After that He ascended to heaven. When He ascended, He took all the people who were in paradise (who had been captives in the heart of the earth)up with Him to the third heaven.
we know today, that paradise is in the third heaven, because in
2 Corinthians 12:2 and 4, we read that Paul was taken there. And he says he was taken up and not down. When a child of God dies today, he doesn’t go down to the heart of the earth like Moses, David , and Jesus went when they died, but he goes up to the third heaven where Christ is today. Christ descended first into the lower parts of the earth (4:9)Ephesians
Hell was also there, but there was a big gulf between hell and paradise-as we read in the true story of the rich man and Lazarus. Hell is still in the centre of the earth.””

correct, is important to always check the original source in greek, the Evangelion speaks of 3 "places":
-Hades aδης (Ades) the "undeworld" it's a neutral place( it is not "hell"), is the place where ALL the death go no matter if it is a good person or bad, Christ went to Hades, Hades has a good side ("paradise" or the "bosom of Abraham", lazarus is here) and a bad side (Tartarus, the greedy rich man is here) both sides are separated.
-Tartaros Τάρταρος a place of torment (but it's not "hell") , this place is not eternal, its an intermediary stage of torment until "the second death"
-Gahenna γέεννα (Geenna) THIS is Hell the permanent place of suffering, "the lake of fire", after "the second death" this is the place where the wicked and non-believers will be ad-eternum
the King James makes the error to call all this places just "Hell" making everything very confusing, that's why its important to check the original greek (the interlinear text at Biblehub is a great resource)
there is a great video "true-to-the-source" explaining all this by David Bercot "where do we go after we die"

Jesus promised the thief on the cross that he would be with him in the new heavens ( paradise )and earth when he comes to be glorified in his saints. When he comes , his desciples will probably be sent to continue preaching about Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God again, because , Man has made a big mess of his Gospel, and every body is being taught a different Gospel than the one his apostles preached. We could end up being damned. 3. The great gulf that is fixed between the place of suffering and paradise is the bottomless pit aka Tartarus.

Hence why when a believer dies now, they are present with the Lord in the Fathers house and not in Abraham’s bosom.

Remember, when one dies, his spirit becomes unconscious and remains in this condition until the resurrection day. During this state of unconsciousness time is lost! This simply means that when the thief's spirit is resurrected it will seem to him as if it were that same day because he will be in paradise with Christ.

Solomon the preacher teaches us that the dead are concious of nothing, he states that; "The living know that they shall die; but the dead know not anything".(Ecclesiastes 9v. 5) The apostle Paul teaches us that the resurrection has an order to it. He illustrates this to us in the book of 1 Corinthians 15v.23 which reads " but Everyman in his own order; Christ the first fruits of the dead. After ward they that are Christ's at his coming". This simply means, that the dead remain in an Unconscious state until the resurrection day !! Daniel the prophet reminds us that; "many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake , some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt".(Daniel 12v. 2) It is easy to see that all three men of God are portraying the same line of thought! So our advise for you is to use the Bible as your guideline, and stop listening to the doctrines of men.

Wrong. According to the Bible, nobody is in Paradise/Heaven yet. The only one who is in heaven is the Lord Jesus Christ the firstfruit. He has a new spiriual body, He is God's new creation, the second Adam. *Sheol and Hades are nothing more than the grave* There is no such place as the mythical pagan place called hell. Even the word hell is pagan. Eternal life by faith in Jesus Christ or *perish* in the lake of fire aka the second death. Those are the only choices. There are no disembodied spirits in heaven. When your body dies your soul dies with it. That is what the Bible teaches. The immortality of the soul comes from Gnosticism.
From where did Jesus call Lazarus to come back to life from the dead? From heaven or from the grave? Why is there no record of Lazarus explaining to his sisters of his death experience? Lazarus could not explain because the dead know nothing *(Ecclesiastes 9:5)* even being in a conscious state like any person fast asleep. Yes you don’t know what goes on around you while you’re asleep. *Acts **2:29* Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of *the patriarch David* that he is *both dead and buried* and his sepulchre is with us unto *this day*

@@15bashie the great thing is, with study you can always find the truth in the word of God. The last thing Jesus said before he breathed his last breath. "It is finished" John 19:28. That ment it is ALL done, the debt has been paid. Jesus became the final and ultimate sacrifice for our sin. The word in this verse, “finished,” is actually from the Greek word, “tetelestai,” which is the same word that means “paid in full.” Often, it was used in an accounting term, which indicates a debt was paid. The uniqueness about the way it was written is that the tense of the word indicates both a point in time it was complete and that it would also continue to be complete or finished. And this is the essence of what Christ came to do. He came to “finish” God’s work of salvation in us. He came to “pay it in full,” the entire penalty, or debt, for our sins. So, nothing else (like going to hell, for some obscure reason) would have been done. 3 days in the depths of the earth, means phyisical death. Hell is not the physical, earth, it is the spiritual death. So people say that Christ went to hell are confused and are not reading the whole Bible that would make Christ a liar if he told the man on the cross next to him today you will be with me in paradise and when he said it is finished. 1Peter 2:24 says, "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” - thats it. Not by his wounds and suffering and oh by the way he went to hell for three days that's nowhere to be found in the Bible I hope that helps I'm glad you're thirsty and looking for the truth look up Ray comfort and how he Witnesses the people and watch a lot of his videos and slowly learn how to do that because people really need to know Jesus especially at this time good for you

Soul sleep is unbiblical. Clearly when Jesus said that, he was referring to bodily ascension, which did not occur until 40 days after his resurrection. Many scriptures attest to this. Rev. 6:9 (the souls slain under the altar asking the Lord when he would avenge them); the poor man in Abraham's bosom, speaking to the rich man across the great gulf; Phil. 1:23 - Paul desires to depart and be with Christ, which is far better; David would go to his son, but his son would not return to him. And kingdom science already explained the Ecclesiastes passage. Also keep in mind progressive revelation; although some OT saints, such as David, understood the intermediate state, it was not completely clear to all of them and it was left to progressive revelation to remove the ambiguity. This can be clear to anyone who has a Berean attitude and studies the full testimony of Scripture.

Is the correct comma punctuation of Luke 23:43, "Truly I say to you, ..." or is it "Truly I say to you today," ... . There is a correct answer using the Bible alone.
Let's consult a listing of every instance in which the Scriptures records this phrase and see if there is a consistency we can appeal to for authority in this matter.
I consulted my Strong's concordance and counted a total of 74 entries of "Verily, verily, I say unto you". Now If you refer to the WT published "Comprehensive Concordance" (1973), you will notice that it too has a similar listing, "Truly I say to you," Observe it's column. Notice how all the commas line up and Jesus was consistent in his application of this phrase in the Watchtower concordance?
Oops, except one. 73 of the 74 phrases have the comma after "you".
Did you notice which verse is the sole deviant? Do you suppose this one exception is due to a "preferred religious view" of WT Corp?

This is a very interesting topic. It has long been a focus of meditation for me: Where was Jesus in the 36 hours between the the stone rolled to close the Tomb on Friday evening and being seen by Mary Magdalene on Sunday Morning. There is no answer but we can explore the possibilities. I was afraid that Dr. Bruce Ware would just recant the traditional positions but instead He debunked them. We often say in preaching and song that Jesus destroyed the gates of hell but that is only based on the statement the very gates of could not withstand Him, which is not quite the same thing. Though having spent a lot of time in contemplating this, I had never considered Jesus's words to the dying Thief and i thank Dr. Bruce for calling my attention to that. But the question has no COMPLETE answer and is open to further contemplation.
I thought he was going to give an easy answer and he refrained from doing so.
Part of the meditation is how did Jesus become alive again? A clue to this that i find in scripture is Genesis 2:7 -- Then Adonai Elohim fashioned ha-adam (the man) from the dust of the adamah (pun) and breathed into his nostrils the nishmat chayyiym (breath of life or lives) and was the adam l'nephesh Chayyah (to a living being) ("and was ... to" means "became" and "was" is not really the correct word given the nature of Hebrew verbs.) But again this is something we can only wonder about.
I am greatly impressed by brother Bruce's perspicacity and now i will try to see as much as i can of his messages. In general i have so much of Southern Seminary's output to be grateful for and when i get myself sorted out will express my thanks with a token gift.

There are 4 words that are translated into "hell" in the English. Only one of them refers to our idea of the actual hell.
Sheol & Hades - These are the grave. The dwelling of the dead. Hades was taken from the Greek and it was a place for all dead, not just the bad people. Sheol is the Hebrew version of that.
Tartarus - This was the Greek prison for the Titans. This is the prison in which the fallen are kept in. You might know it as the bottomless pit. I think this word only appears once in the bible, but it is also translated hell.
Gehenna - In the Old Testament, this is the Valley of Hinnon. It's where the Israelites caused their children to walk through the fire as sacrifices to Molech, a false god. It was later looked at as a kind of cursed place and tradition has it that this is where they ended up throwing dead carcasses and periodically burned them to prevent disease (I can't verify this). None the less... every time this word is used, it is in reference to the Lake of Fire. Which is the closest thing the bible mentions that resembles the Dante's Inferno created version of hell.
The idea of hell as we know it came in large part from 'The Divine Comedy' by Dante Alighieri. It came from Dante's imagination.

The Nicene Creed mentions that Yeshua was crucified, died, buried, raised on the third day and ascended to Heaven from where he shall come to judge the living and the dead. To keep it simple, only because different church denominations in Splinter groups have different beliefs when it comes to hell and heaven. Most would agree that's Yeshua did release those that were in limbo between Earth and Paradise. Some Churches do not believe we have an immortal or Eternal so and therefore none of these things have happened yet for people that have passed away.. so some Churches believe it when your body dies then you're just waiting asleep in the grave until the return and Resurrection. It's way too much to get into here but I think you're showing a difference between heaven and Paradise. Generally speaking paradise and heaven are the same within scripture and this means in the Old Testament or the New Testament.. I don't really remember anywhere in the Bible where there's a definite different meaning for paradise and heaven. People as a mentioned above the long to certain denominations or even certain religions, who happened to believe that when your body expires you don't have some Immortal, Eternal. So that's going to carry on. But if you happen to believe that you do have an immortal and eternals so, which I believe, then just recognize there's not any difference between paradise and heaven and they are synonymous and one word can be used interchangeably for the other!. I'm not a Bible scholar or anything like this but I do know a little bit. Where did you hear that paradise and heaven weren't the same? I honestly have never heard this in my life. That's not a jab at you it's just I've never heard anyone show distinction between heaven and Paradise and usually thought of as the same place. Only if you get a chance could you let me know because I love to learn what people have been told or where they got the information from and so on. So if you get a chance just hit me back and let me know if you had just always been told paradise and heaven or separate places or what because it's important to me when I have questions in reality or real life, and I want to be able to answer a question for myself but also I want to be able to recognize that this belief is amongst a certain group here and there. When I said that you're the first person that's ever said this to me in my short life, I didn't want you to take that as a jab or something like this towards you. We're all learning and that's why life is just a big school. I don't want you to read this and then think I am so he'll put you down or making you feel silly or stupid because it's pretty easy to do the same to me and I wouldn't do that to anyone on purpose. Again, if you can tell me where you first heard this difference between heaven and Paradise as if they're two different places could you please let me know because again oh, I just want to learn

Let us set aside a "preferred religious view" and observe how Yeshua used this phrase. As you know He always used it to preface something very important.
Let's consult a listing of every instance in which the Christian Greek Scriptures records this phrase and see if there is a consistency we can appeal to for authority in this matter.
I consulted my Strong's concordance and counted a total of 74 entries of "Verily, verily, I say unto you". Now If you refer to your WT published "Comprehensive Concordance" (1973), you will notice that it too has a similar listing, "Truly I say to you," Observe this column. Notice how all the commas line up and Jesus was consistent in his application of this phrase?
Oops, except one. 73 of the 74 phrases have the comma after "you".
Did you notice which verse is the sole deviant? Do you suppose this one exception is due to a "preferred religious view" of WT Corp?

Why are you changing today for now? They are obviously NOT the same word or the two separate words wouldn't exist. Punctuation? There is no problem with this verse when you consider ALL the other verses in which Jesus said; "truly, truly, I say unto you, ..." . Have a look at them. Jesus used this phrase a hundred times. If you refer to a concordance, you will see that the commas All line up (f they don't, your concordance is obviously in error!).
Besides, stating, "I say to you today, ..." is redundant and superfluous. When would the listener think he was talking? Tomorrow? To speak in the present tense has to be "today". Also, He never said "today" in any of the other references where this phrase is used, and he didn't here either. As with all the other 100 or so instances of Jesus saying "truly, truly, I am telling you, ... " the comma is after "you". "today" is grammatically connected to "paradise".

Its my view, for what that is worth, the ephesians passage isnt an either or proposition on the "led captivity captive." This is referencing psalm 68 which speaks of God desiring the mountain of bashan and the defeat of the supernatural and territorial evil of bashan and its mountain. That mountain almost certainly was Mt Hermon (the place where tradition has the Genesis 6 angels coming down to pollute the whole world with their seed -and thus oppose Eve's seed [Gen 3]---that is in gen 6 context, noah, his descendents, israel and most emphatically and most direcrly Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Man of Dan 7 to whom all power was given by the acnient of day, that is the Father).Bashan was the general area called Cesar Phillipi in Jesus ministry. Also the local he was at when Jesus said upon this rock i will build my church and where he was transfigured. Also an area viewed as the gates of hell during Jesus tine and before. Recall Jesus stated the gates of hell would not withstand the church. The church would overcome them. The kingdom of God would defeat them. Also, back to bashan, psalm 22 (my god my god why hast thou forsaken me) has the bulls of bashan surrounding the crucified christ (strong bulls surround me many bulls of bashan beset me round...they have pierced my hands and my feet) But the allusion to psalm 68 that Paul makes in Ephesians...it describes ancient vicotry procession in which yes conguered princes are led back by the victorious king to his land but also the great and victorious king has the prisoners the bad guys had imprisoned by his side. He has set the captives free you see as another passage has it. They were captive to sheol, that is death. And christ and the cross is the defeat of death. He has the keys of death and hades as revelations has it. BUT also he did make an "open show" as Colossians states of the principalities and powers and especially the prince of this world, that is Satan. He demostrated himself king of kings lord of lords and going to the old testament language God of gods. He, in my view, then at that time before ressurection, preached to the spirits THEN in preason (which, the passage states, were at one time disobedient during the days of Noah 1 Peter 3.20), that is tarturas, locked in chains of darkness (2 peter 2.4), the lowest pits of hell. He preached the gospel. But it was not good news to them but a proclamation of their doom for conspiring to kill their God and lord to whom they will one day bow the knee, "that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of things in heaven and in earth amd UNDER the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." phillipians 2.10-11. They had conspired to kill him and he walked into sheol and made fools of them all. Jesus feet were as fine brass as burned in a furnace rev 1.15 states. Powerful stuff.

I like what Southern Seminary had to say. The video title asks tough questions (and raise more) that are partially addressed by many relevant passages in scripture, but seem to lack definitive answers. We know that at some point Jesus took on our sin (probably right before crying out) and was separated from the Father. We know that the devil has never owned anyone's soul (no ransom theory, instead propitiation and life in Christ). Jesus experienced death on our behalf, death on the cross (and separation from the Father). How long was this separation? The passage, (approx.) this day you will be with Me in paradise, limits the last question. However, in regards to Jesus going to paradise, after He had risen and was seen by Mary He asked her not to cling to Him because He had not yet ascended to the Father. Does this mean He went to heaven and didn't see the Father? Abraham's bosom should still have been in effect (I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am there you may also be) so maybe. Was something specific (between Jesus and the Father) supposed to happen that just hadn't occurred yet? Did Jesus do something else between dying and going to paradise? If so, what was it? If it's important for us to know, one day we'll know. Some may/may have already know/known, but the numbers claiming to know/have known are far far greater than those who actually do/did.

No, this is referring to the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:11 says that the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead. So back to 1 Peter: He was raised in (by/through) the Holy Spirit, through Whom He also "preached to the spirits in prison, after they were disobedient long ago when God patiently waited in the days of Noah..." The temporal indicators in vs. 20 describe the time of the preaching. The spirits of the disobedient are now in prison, but the preaching occurred during the days of Noah, as Christ by the Spirit preached to the disobedient ancients through Noah. The NET Bible's footnote says, "Many translations take this as adjectival describing the spirits (“who had once been disobedient”; cf. NASB, NIV, NKJV, NLT, NRSV, TEV), but the grammatical construction strongly favors an adverbial interpretation describing the time of the preaching, as reflected above."

As A Minister of the Gospel, two main things we notice about Scripture when we study them, the first is, there are text that are direct and simple, that mean what they say, clearly, without having to go deep, THEN, there are those things we see that require a strong connection with GOD, Spiritually, which is written like riddles and which the intended meaning evades us and is deliberately complex. There are also things that may seem ambiguous when you first read it and, thus, requires you to truly study all of the scriptures to put the pieces together in order to understand the true meaning of what is meant. So, if you find it difficult to accept what you read in the scriptures that is clearly stated and you find it difficult to accept it for what it clearly and deliberately says and means, you would have complicated the interpretation and made a complete mess of everything. ACCEPT IT FOR WHAT IT SAYS, THE LORD WENT DOWN INTO HELL to Preach THE GOSPEL, to set Souls Free, ALL of Them, the fact that HE had to PREACH, meant, the souls, although in HELL, still had to be convinced that HE IS WHOM HE SAYS HE IS, All the souls, All the way back to the Flood had been given an opportunity to accept THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF THE FATHER and be forgiven of their sins, funny thing is, even then, not all RECEIVED HIM, Whole Nations were still trying to get back to their former lives on earth and still wrestle with death, yearning and struggling to return to the, "Pleasure of The Flesh", that's how powerful Lust is.

When in the garden after Jesus was raised, John 20:7 "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not ascended to my father:" said Jesus. You are saying Jesus died, went to heaven, and after three days and three nights there He returned to earth to see Mary Magdalene just to tell her not to touch Him because He had to go right back to heaven and present Himself to God? That makes no sense. Then consider Matthew 12:40 "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Said Jesus Christ. He surely knew his fate and He doesn't lie! These quotes are from the KJV, dump the nasb "Bible" and their adding words to redirect the meanings of what Jesus Himself said! I'm not a preacher, just an avid reader of the Word of God.
Paradise is used for Abraham's bosom and in other places heaven. The word translated "hell" is not the same word throughout the Bible. Anywhere the risen Jesus is or that God is will always be Paradise! Before the resurrection all righteous went to Paradise and unsaved went to hell. At the end hell will be cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:13 "... death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them..." Revelation 20:14 "... This is the second death."

First off, the word we know of as “hell” has been used throughout the Bible where multiple Hebrew and Greek words were used. It was as if the word hell was translated from all these different words. The word hell has been completely misunderstood and wrongly translated. 2nd, the original bible language did not use punctuation and the comma was added to the scripture where Jesus said to the thief that today you would be with me in paradise. As far as we know Jesus could have been just telling him on that day that he would be with Jesus in paradise. I could say to my child “I’m telling you today that if you don’t do your chores then you’re going to be grounded”. Does that mean that only applies to “today”. No, I am just telling him today. Since, translators added the comma, we don’t know for certain that it was placed in the correct spot. That scripture is the only scripture that states you will be in paradise on that day.
