  • What did Jesus do between His crucifixion and resurrection? What did Jesus do in Hell? Did Jesus actually go there? Join Pastor Allen Nolan for this fascinating look at the death of Jesus, and what the early church believed and taught about Jesus' death. Many today find the topic of Jesus and what He did in Hell to be controversial. If you've ever asked "what did Jesus do in Hell for 3 days?" This sermon on Jesus in Hell discusses what Jesus accomplished in Hell during the three days that He was buried after His crucifixion. Pastor Allen discusses the Bible verses supporting this view as well as the Apostle's Creed and views of one of those influential church fathers, John Calvin. We hope this video on Jesus in Hell will help you have a better grasp as to what Jesus did in Hell for 3 days during His burial, between His crucifixion and resurrection. #jesus #allennolan #theology

Jesus never went to hell. God cannot go to a place like that. The reason hell is not talked about much, is because God doesn't know much about hell. God didn't create such a place. It just formed by itself, according to Genesis.

Yes I do because I suffer like Jesus suffered as the strictures say if you are true to Jesus you would suffer. But anyone who does not obey the Ten Commandments is not true to Jesus and does not follow. He said take up your cross and follow daily which means to suffer daily. And anyone who is true to him would suffer as Christ suffered. But you are a child of the devil with blessed worldly values from your Father the devil to keep you sweet on your way to destruction.

He said “i will never leave you nor forsake you!” I at a low point asked him if he still loved me and a scripture came to mind . Jesus christ the same yesterday, today and forever! He still loves us! Stay in the word! I remember hearing a black christian asked about his walk with the lord and he said “its like theres two dogs one good and one not good and i feed them and whos winning is the ones i’s feeds the most! Keep appreciating jesus! Who he is and what he’s done for you! His work was completed on the cross! When he said tetelesti or paid in full or it is finished my favorite is transaction complete it was! Sin was covered! Now salvation is in 3 tenses in greek! Unfortunate that not clearly expressed into english. Accomplished fully when believed and accepted in the past! On going work of the spirit or scantificaltion. Future tense or to be fully realized! No one who has truly received jesus as their savior will be lost! Not one! Not only is he able to save to the uttermost all that rely on his saving work but he certainly will! He will lose not one! Saved or rescued or redeemed by the LOVE of GOD! Its a narrow way to be saved by someone elses love! A proud man cannot enter! Let his LOVE save you!

@@allennolan Is hell a place of eternal suffering?
No. The original words translated as “hell” in some older Bible translations (Hebrew, “Sheol”; Greek, “Hades”) basically refer to “the Grave,” that is, the common grave of mankind. The Bible shows that people in “the Grave” are in a state of nonexistence.
      ● The dead are unconscious and so cannot feel pain. “Neither work, nor reason, nor wisdom, nor knowledge, shall be in hell.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10, Douay-Rheims Version) Hell is not filled with sounds of pain. Instead, the Bible says: “Let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave [hell, Douay-Rheims].”-Psalm 31:17; King James Version (30:18, Douay-Rheims); Psalm 115:17.
      ● God has set death, not torment in a fiery hell, as the penalty for sin. God told the first man, Adam, that the penalty for breaking God’s law would be death. (Genesis 2:17) He said nothing about eternal torment in hell. Later, after Adam sinned, God told him what his punishment would be: “Dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3:19) He would pass out of existence. If God were actually sending Adam to a fiery hell, He surely would have mentioned it. God has not changed the punishment for defying his laws. Long after Adam sinned, God inspired a Bible writer to say: “The wages sin pays is death.” (Romans 6:23) No further penalty is justified, because “the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin.”-Romans 6:7.
      ● The idea of eternal torment is repugnant to God. (Jeremiah 32:35) Such an idea is contrary to the Bible’s teaching that “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) He wants us to worship him out of love, not fear of eternal torment.-Matthew 22:36-38.
      ● Good people went to hell. The Bibles that use the word “hell” indicate that faithful men, such as Jacob and Job, expected to go to hell. (Genesis 37:35; Job 14:13) Even Jesus Christ is spoken of as being in hell between the time of his death and his resurrection. (Acts 2:31, 32) Obviously, then, when “hell” is used in these Bibles, it simply refers to the Grave.

I cried during this. I have been a born again Christian for 30 years and didn’t know about what Jesus actually did the 3 1/2 days. I was under the assumption that he presented his spotless blood as a sacrifice to the Heavenly Father on behalf of the sins of the world. After that he went to get the keys to death, hell, and the grave. I am so humbled by his sacrifice and what he endured. Thank you for this teaching.

(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be said)
Kind Sir, Allen Nolan...You are a VERY intelligent man, when it comes to bibles and it's truths. Rather than the garbage that's natural. So much so, that I did something; I rarely do on Christian's CZcams videos. And that is: I only stay to see IF they are intelligent in the truths, in bibles. And sadly, that is very rare. May Jesus have mercy...
So, I watched and listened deeply to your video twice (no less)! And I learned a lot; that I didn't know. So I am very pleased that I learned them. Especially when you said, "What happened AFTER Jesus was crucified; and when He was resurrected"?! And you spent almost an hour to explain what happened; in those 3 Days and 3 Nights. Wow, was it good Sir!
Because I too, for untold years, have been believing; that Jesus went to Hell (or "Hades" or "Sheol's", etc). And also, I have believed a long time; that "Placee" is in the middle of this earth. Where most do NOT believe that at all! As you espoused wisely. So kind Sir...I said all of the above to say this...
After 16 yrs of my 91 yrs of Christianity; trying to get to the pure TRUTH; and not what MOST preachers believe. And with NO disrespect (at all) to you Allen; I believe you ARE wrong; when you say that "others" go to that place, when they die.
For I believe, all stays (except for Moses) in their graves. Until Jesus' 1st Resurrects His Born Again's ("Sheep"); dead or live to the Old Heaven. And after 1,000 yrs goes by; Jesus "Calls Up" satan's Non Born Again's ("Goats"); to the Old Heaven too. But remember Brethren, in these...
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is Jesus as a thousand years, and a thousand years (on Earth) is one day (In Heaven).
Matthew 19:26 Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Since Brethren, I never debate or argue...I will just let it stand where we (Christians brothers) are. And I'll still believe you are a "helluva" preacher...in my life! And may Jesus bless you and yours always, kind Sir. AMEN!

Had my first near death experience aged 12 (coincidences) no Sir,,,We have little miracles within us, Light sparks of Our Lords Devine Power, It's In all of us, In every soul connected to Lord Jesus. Most my life is a testimony to this. My life has changed so much. Somtimes feels like am blessed, Never been healthier been learning to read I have learning difficulties. Forgive the spelling and ponctuation never at school Sorry, Yep feeling blessed, Even got a Job after getting a knockback at first, Said a little prayer and few weeks later got the job, My first job in years and its the first salaried job ever, Been there 2 years now. Only took me the end of time, for i know we are close to the end and there is the blessed hope for us all, Holy Scriptures are near fufilled and i still have loads to study and learn before i meet Our lord Thank you Pastor looking forward to learning from watching your video's, to Quote the Apostle Paul. We can finish this race, Gods Speed and Peace Be With You All, Hallu yah,

No he does not. Rich man and Lazarus is a parable. John 3:13 Jesus: "no man has ascended to heaven except he that descended, the son of Man" . Death is a figurative sleep and Abraham was sleeping in the grave, (sheol) Greek Hades. Jesus "slept" for 3 days and then was resurrected. 50 days later he ascended to heaven. It is estimated that 16 billion people have lived on earth and died and they are all still sleeping in the grave. With the exception of those who have been chosen to rule with Jesus in heaven most of them will be resurrected back on the "new earth" Acts 24:15 to learn the Bible and Gods will. Those who are deserving will live on earth forever.

Jesus said just before He took His last breath, "IT IS FINISHED". Finished meant that Sin was paid for. According to 1 Peter 3:18, Jesus suffered once to pay for sin. He did not have to suffer again in hell. Peter tells us that Jesus went to Sheol to preach to the spirits there (v 19), most likely that redemption has been made possible for those who repent and believe in Him (vv 19-20).

The idea that Jesus was under the authority of Satan or needed to suffer further is utterly disgusting to me. The NT clearly states repeatedly that it was the blood and His death that set us free. Many are older woman in pain and all I could do now is pray for them all I ask is that you can pray for them as well. I would love to tell you about my testimony from my birth to this present day. Sorry, a little too long. The last thing I will add, I am Blessed by GOD, saved by JESUS, and guided by the HOLY SPIRIT. I cannot ask for anything more. Thank you, FATHER, thank you JESUS, and thank your HOLY SPIRIT. Nothing more I can add.

      Just something to help.
Hell is the KJV's word for the Greek word Hades. Which is the grave. All who die end up in hell or the grave. It is a state of nonexistence(Genesis 3:19). That is why a resurrection is needed to bring the dead back into existence. Jesus too needed to be resurrected to bring him back into existence.
Acts 2:32 God resurrected this Jesus, and of this we are all witnesses.

He isn't teaching what the Bible REALLY says, he doesn't KNOW what the truth about hell is! Hell does not exist, God didn't create anything of the sort because his dominant quality is love and the doctrine of hell is entirely pagan but loved by the phony "Christians"! God gave the Jews their religion and NEVER mentioned anything about hell because it was not real!!

      GOD can NEVER DIE!
GOD IS LIFE!! The Way the Truth the LIFE!!
That’s why we even had a Mediator! The flesh of Jesus the Son died, but the SPIRIT which is GOD JESUS the FATHER is INVISIBLE and can NOT DIE!!
Glad you don’t fall for these lies of the devil!

    • @bonganimkonto
      @bonganimkonto Před 2 lety +1

Yes, to say that Jesus Christ died spiritually violates doctrine.
Christ is God and is eternal (John 1:1 KJV, Hebrews 1:8-10 KJV, John 14:9 KJV, 1 John 5:20 KJV, Titus 2:13 KJV, Isaiah 9:6 KJV). The scriptures are endless because the whole Bible talks about Jesus Christ (John 5:39 KJV, Luke 24:27,44 KJV, Hebrews 10:7 KJV)
What died on the cross was the body/flesh (Romans 8:3 KJV, Hebrews 10:4-5 KJV)
This is why a lot of people do not get the mystery between Jesus and Christ. Hence why the pastor in the video said Christ died spiritually.

Thanks for doing and sharing this message. It is one of those topics RARELY gone over or explained. He had to experience death (even spiritually) in the ordinary fashion in order that He may overcome that spiritually and physically, that He may lawfully be the redeemer of those of us willing and the rest of creation that has been affected by sin. One can't help but wonder if that was a long 3 days for Him, but we can have comfort in that He endured where we cannot with full and complete willingness. Until the day we are fully redeemed, I don't think we can fathom the entire depth of all He's done for us. Just what we do know and understand in this life is enough to blow you away.
