In 1937, for the first time, Ford Trucks had their own styling, which was very distinctive from the Ford car line. Design wise, Ford had definitely stepped ahead of the competition with its new grille, split windshield and completely redesigned cab. Your Revell model features a stock flat head V-8 or custom manifold with dual carbs and high compression heads, vintage truck wheels and tires or steel wheels with dog dish hub caps, a '38 grille and hood, optional headlights, wood stake sides, lowered suspension, dual exhaust and surf board. Authentic decals for factory stock and custom graphics are also included.

The Ford line of cars was updated in 1937 with one major change - the introduction of an entry-level 136 CID (2.2 L) V8 in addition to the popular 221 CID (3.6 L) flathead V8. The model was a refresh of its predecessor, the Model 48 (itself based on the Model 40A), and was the company's main product. It was redesigned more thoroughly in 1941. At the start of production, it cost US$850 ($15,302 in 2020 dollars [2]). The Ford Line bore several model numbers during this period: For domestic 1937 production in the United States Ford Model Numbers for 85 hp V-8 equipped cars was Model 78 and 60 hp V-8 cars was Model 74. Models 81A and 82A in 1938, and Models 91A and 92A in 1939.
The 1937 Ford featured a more rounded look with fine horizontal bars in the convex front and hood-side grilles. The front grille was V-shaped, rather than following the fenders into a pentagon shape, as on the 1936 model. Faired-in headlights installed in the front fenders were a major modernization found on both the Standard and DeLuxe trim versions, and the introduction of an all steel top for the passenger compartment. The Standard could be distinguished from the DeLuxe by the body color radiator grilles and windshield frames while the DeLuxe had walnut woodgrain window mouldings and exterior trim brightwork, and a woodgrain finish applied to the interior window trim.[1] A larger water pump was used to help aid in cooling.[3] 'Slantback' sedans gained a rear trunk door, though space was limited, and 'Trunkback' versions continued gaining sales. The station wagon had seating for eight passengers. A 4-door "convertible sedan" with roll up windows was offered in small numbers in the DeLuxe series.[4] Also, new seats were used.
Introduced in 1935, Ford's Model 50 pickup shared many of the styling updates that applied to the brand's passenger-car lineup for the same model year. It was powered exclusively by the legendary Ford flathead V-8. Production of the successful model came to a halt in 1941, when Ford shifted its considerable production might to benefit the war effort. By that time Ford had produced more than four million trucks. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
"Shaka, when the walls fell", great ref to "Star Trek, The Next Generation"
Awesome reference! Episode was called "Darmok" and guest starred actor Paul Winfield, who people might recall was Captain Terrell in Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan.
When the radiator fan housing comes in multiple parts, you know it's going to be a great Kit!
I've built a couple of the earlier releases of this kit. One of my favorite kits. It goes together so easy that it might as well come pre-assembled. It's a great slump buster kit also.
Thats a nice build, I like those they don't take up as much room as the big simis do.👍
Beautiful job. TY.
Thank you I learned some neat tricks from this vid!
You have this way of - well - When I see the new releases and decide NAH I'll pass on that one. Then I see you do a build on said kit, see the part trees, the assembly, the details and it quickly becomes a must buy.
Lovely little truck
Very nice, I like the green/gray color you choosed 👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful job! 👍
That black really pops after you put the clear coat on
Awesome looking truck
Damn I want someone to make a 1936 Ford Pickup!
A surfing theme could be easily collected & built from all kinds of kits geared to this sport. Your finished work looks great. Cool colors & wood working.
I know it's not the same year but it does remind me of the old Ford pickup at the beginning of the Burt Reynolds movie Stroker Ace. "Mmm mmm mmm. You boys better hold on. I'm gonna have to stand on it"
Just picked this mode up at Hobby Lobby yesterday, all box models 40% off!!! Looking forward to getting started!👍
I recently completed the 37 Ford Panel truck by Revell, for the headlights I drilled into the indents which gave the buckets more bite and used some Loctite super glue to secure them to the posts.
🤔...... Darmok at Tenogra! 🖖😉
and Jalad.
Nice job Chris looks good buddy
Really nice! I love that sage green. I've used it on several kits.
Thanks Chris.great review and always an awesome build.on my wish list for sure.looks like a great kit.sage and black nice combo period perfect.peace
Just think of the possibilities! In my mind I've already built a sweet rat rod straight outta the box. Ohh, a surf rat rod! My mind is reeling. Thanks again for a great review/build. I have used your reviews to guide my purchases and I think the way you show all the parts in the kit really helps us kitbashers out here.
Sokath his eyes uncovered. Every video
Awesome build!!
Its to bad i'm shaking cause this is a great hobby...
Might be my favorite build you’ve done, and I’ve seen a lot! Just the right amount of detail, great color choices, and informative. Keep up the good work, and thanks!
I woke up a little groggy. Then I watched this video - nice pick up. I feel so much better, I'm goin' for a walk, but I'll have to ford the creek. So enough with the "humor". Dang, Chris, you turned out a mighty fine finished Ford. It's that classic hpiguys detailing that sets your works apart. Thanks again for another wonderful Saturday.
Captain Lou reminds me of the wrestler from the 80s.
Lmao I made this comment before you mentioned him later in the video.
And that's the way all dashboard gages should be designed for models imo. Perfect. I've been thinking that the next time I have gage decals I should drill out the holes for them in the dashboard and mount the gage decals on a spare piece of flat styrene and glue them in just as shown here. Very nice kit. Also, nice demo of how to use modge podge for the windows. Tyvm. Really nice job.
Love it.
Awesome, once again Chris you nailed the colors.
The gloss is blinding, awesome build, thank you for doing such a great job
Great build of another well engineered Revell kit. Personally, I prefer Revell kits. Since I began my “comeback tour” to modeling, I have developed a preference for Revell kits. You do an amazing job with the detail you put into the models you build, and you give a great review of the kits, along with tips for building them. As always, thanks for sharing.
You must have boxes of extra parts lying around after all the kits I've seen you build. It would be cool to see if you could put together a sort of "junkyard dog" just improvising and using spare parts. Sort of like a teenager living near a scrapyard with a small budget and a lot of ingenuity'. Great job on this Ford!
This is really a nice build - love those wood panels on the back. Thanks
Excellent craftsmanship Chris, wonderful presentation as always!! I really dig your color choices!!
Watching you do this is relaxing to me. I don't believe I can do one of these builds...I like the music too.
Love the Star Trek TNG reference
Another Hot one Chris stay positive and safe
Hey Chris Shannon here Great build
Can't wait to get this one...
So many ideas come to mind.
I love to see your car building vídeos. Always looking forward for the next one. All of them are very inspiring and the music is great. Thanks a lot for sharing. Regards from Brazil.
I love the gel pens and sharpies for detailing! Makes it look good!
Darmok and Jilad at Tenagra!
COOL!!!
Looks nice. Thanks for the great build.
Great build and information! I'm currently building the older version of this same kit! Red oxide primer and red. Love the tutorial on the wood grain!
Build on!
Man this was a very beautiful build!!
Great build. Good color choice.👍🏻
You make the painting and weathering look so easy! Its taken me years to be as bad at it as I am.
Very impressive detailing and your color choices are perfect in my eyes! Really looks like a fun kit to build. I do like the gauge idea, going behind rather than stuck in.
Please tell me my vision was obscured by lighting, but it appears the inner cowl sides under the hood are gray, not sage, in the photos at the end. Is that something we need to be aware of when painting the interior tub?
You do such a great job with detailing, I hate to say anything about the paint. I can see myself overlooking something like that, and then wonder how to fix it.
Awesome job always, I just purchased this one yesterday look forward to building it. Thanks for the tips
Another amazing build ! These trucks are very rare nowadays. I have only seen one 1937 Ford Pickup in my life. It was blue. I really like how you did the Sage Green with the black fenders. I already have an idea for how I would paint mine if I can get my hands on this one. I would go with a Stock build and go for a little darker shade of green with black fenders and paint the stock wheels a pretty yellow. And I would use those beautiful wooden bed rails. And I really like the " Lemon Grove " decals ( makes me want to drink a cold glass of lemonade as I'm building it ! ) And I used to work in the produce department of a small grocery store years ago. Can't wait to get my hands on this one ! Awesome build as always Chris ! Keep up the good work ! Thumbs up !
Nice build.. thanks for the video!
Great build Chris, good colour combo looks authentic. Always enjoy the show and get some great techniques and ideas for my modelling.
chris i just preorder Chase Elliott 👍👍from modelrunup
Great looking truck Chris! Love the color and Crab decals. Nice kit.
Glad you like it!
Gonna have to grab this kit for the stash. Nice job.
"Shaka... when the walls fell" - you know, it's been a while since I saw that and I've forgotten what that meant, but happily the captain figured it out so that's ok :)
I must say, your skill with the spray can is really impressive to me (most impressive 😉) you seem to have worked out exactly how to get the right amount of paint on without flooding the part. Even using an airbrush I'm still prone to such errors. More practice on my part I think.
Take care. Thanks :)
Thanks Mark!
Another great build!! I'll definitely get one although mine will definitely have some Cragars!! It looks like a really cool kit and a great place to start some kitbashing!!
Nice job. Cant wait to get one of these
Sokath his eyes open
Darmok and Jalad at tanagra!!!

Hey......you didn t forget the bluegrass music
Wow, that turned out spectacular! Love it!
Look at the box, then look at the ( nicely finished piece) hubcaps that is spoiled the whole look to bad, oh well
I'm going to have to get that kit, nice work Chris, and that box art is gorgeous
Thanks!
@@hpiguy No Thankyou brutha!
I really love your channel, it gives me a chance to preview the model, this way I can decide if I want to buy it.
Just ordered all the 1/16th scale Chevys and the firebird, the Thunderbird. Waiting for them to arrive, can't wait to start building them. Thank You for your service to us builders.
For those who wish to add more detailed wheels on this kit as an upgrade and improvement;over the no name wheels that comes in the kit,Round2 Models sells a 1/25 scale stock and custom tire set,for AMT,MPC,and Lindberg automotive kits;but can be kit bashed with other 1/25 scale kit manufacturers. The biasply stock and custom tire set from AMT;are fully branded as either Goodyear or Firestone continentals that are whitewall for the stock biasply tires, and red stripe for the custom biasply tires.
So you have two different wheel options in the AMT tire set to choose from.
Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.
👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Chris, love your videos, don’t always comment. Great looking build, as usual. I wanted to know what glue you use, the stuff you slather on all the time. Happy days and model on! 😎
Just ordered. Great build, great looking kit!!! Thanks brother!
Great work! I love the color choices. Thanks once again for sharing.
Great build, love the sage green and detailed flathead V-8
Very nice build
Very nice model! If I may give you one piece of advice: The spare wheel in the video is quite shiny. You could use a matt varnish in a few places.
People often Armor All the side spare so that it gleams, hence why I did.
'37 / '38 kit. This molding began as a '37 only...later they added '38 hood and grille. Custom and Stock only refers to the engine in this kit...and maybe a custom wheel / tire option.
Lindo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks!
Great looking build Chris...
Another great video and build!
Chris you really are the best. This one is so gorgeous, so sweet. Tnak you for sharing your videos.
Nice build Chris great looking kit
By any chance, do you ever buy "glue bomb" model kits and restore them? Doesn't cost much and is a fun challenge. The worst that can possibly happen is that it doesn't work out and you have more parts for the parts bin!
Darmok and jilard at Tinagra.
I am just building an original issue right now. Is the sage body color you used Rust-Oleum paint. Love the color.
I noticed that you might have also built a street rod version of this kit with the flathead high compression heads. Any chance you'll show that one?
Great build great color choice
It looks great!
I come here for the music.
Have you ever take your models an d figures to ipms show or model show?
What brand is that metallic marker? It looks like a good size with a medium fine tip, possibly a little easier to handle than the standard sharpie.
Wasn't that pickup on a beach boy's album cover?
Hey Chris, what colors of brown craft paint did you use on the bed and rails?love your builds
I go with colors that look close to the type of wood look I want, a light tan, beige for new from the lumber yard. Or medium brown color for a stained wood. Or a light grey'ish green for aged wood.
@@13Dixiefried thanks for the reply
Hey Chris it been a long time for me. Had to take break from videos, like your videos, I got the reference wall fell, how about this the 37's not the truck,
