I am so close to completing the 718 Porsche Cayman S which was the cheapest in the UK! I have restored most of the car and now there are just a final few damaged parts which i can replace for upgraded parts like the GT4 bodykit. One of the parts i need to change is the exhaust system so i decided to straight pipe ... but it didnt end well.

Not a car guy but invested in how passionate people are about cars it’s mad impressive
Watch him you'll become a car guy
Thats how it starts.😹
You picked the right guy to follow 🙌🏼
Mat is the most passionate on You Tube!!! Best car channel by far!!!!
@@sidrens1047 Mighty car mods is up there !
Mat, I'm watching your videos from Kyiv and I have to say that it's awesome to watch it. Literally like a fresh air. You're the most sincere and positive person I've ever seen on youtube and definitely one of the most amazing person I've known (if I can say that). And now in contrast to those explosions which have gotten me up watching your new video is like reminding myself that there are people in the world that make me happy to live in this world and it's not fucked up completely. Love you man. Take care!
I cant imagine bro! Thanks for watching!!
Love to Ukraine keep strong UK is with you ❤
@@dazzerj156 thank you and believe me every person here including me appreciates your help and support. Great Britain and Poland and all other countries make our faith much stronger and it means a lot. Btw I've been in England and I really love your country. We have a lot to learn from you!
@@hshafiq75 I didn't see any nazi symbols and never heard about but what I do know about it that Russian propaganda singing that song since 2014. Many of ukrainians are nazis and shit like that but it's just complete bullshit. There are a lot of videos on youtube about it and you can check it by yourself. But let me say you one thing: our president is a jew. Doesn't it sound ridiculous to you that we have any social problems with nazis and jewish president at the same time? xD
@@hshafiq75 I would assume that's media being media
I love how open and transparent he is about the pricing of everything. Not many people do that, makes us feel more involved and how little/loads it actually costs to repair a car!🙌🏻❤️
that is a very good point. I hate car channel where they do crazy stuff, but hide how much it cost
He's so down to earth & relatateble,+ he's a great teacher too you .I always gome way from his posts feelin like i''ve learned something.🖕
Mat, whatever you do, never change the down to earth guy you are. So many YT starts acting and screaming like hell in their videos.. but you.. you’ve stayed the same 🙏🏻❤️ love the narrative during the fixes! All the best! ☀️☀️
You have great pacing for these videos. Stuff actually gets done. I know it's a lot of work but it's nice to see solid progress each time. I follow a lot of other similar channels and sometimes they'll spend 20 minutes doing one small thing. And that's fine, everyone has a different style. But I appreciate how much work you pack into each video. I look forward to the next one!
I cant tell you how much your videos do for my mental state...all things disappear and I'm lost in a world that makes me happy.Thank you Mat, keep living and sharing the dream mate, you are inspiring beyond words.
Simon says. And says it well 🤝
Totally agree :)
Can’t believe that I started watching you when you were doing little mods on the 1-series back when I had one too and now you’re here, honestly great content and love the channel!
absolutely love the vid been watching you since your first tt in the driveway you've changed so much and your projects are getting better and better love the vids. 👍
I have such admiration for your enthusiasm, tenacity and non-defeatist attitude. You are a real role model and inspiration for the younger generation. Well done and keep up the great work, love watching your videos.
Instant improvement to a cold Monday morning, keep it up, smashing it out the park over the last year
Mat makes my day when he uploads. Keep it up man 💯❤️
Loving the work, one of the better car rebuilders/modders. straight talker and does it, no repetitive speaking, and not work.
Out of all the projects, this is the one I'm hankering on every episode for. Just blown away by the whole roof replacement etc.
Favorite series to date. Keep it up, Mat. Looking forward to the finished result!!
i am always speechless when i see all the work you performed. You need to cover all the aspects of the restoration : safety, performances, design, reliability and much more. When you repaired and improve a car you are truly tha best !!!! Thank you for the video.
Just started watching your channel after a recommendation from a friend. I'm properly invested already and have found myself tracking back through your vids. I love the enthusiasm and enjoy the realism to show it doesn't always go to plan.
Subscribed and looking forward to going through 3 years worth of videos and seeing the new ones as they pop up!
I am not even a car guy and I only just started watching your channel and I must say your videos are addictive. Doing a top job Mat, you are inspirational. Observing you and your vibe your channel will blow up before you know it 👏
Great build. I would have painted the inside of the roof panel before puttting the interior back, Any condensation will eventually cause rust.
I’m loving this rebuild/restoration series. Just recently found this channel, love it!
Love the video's and think the channel deserves a spot on main stream T.V.
The detail and description Matt delivers are first class and easy to understand.
I used to do a similar venture in the 80's with high end Japanese vehicles, Supra, Sylvia turbo etc but then you had to rely on Exchange and Mart, there was no internet, LOL's, it paid off my mortgage after a dozen rebuilds. One thing I did do was to power wash the vehicle all over to make sure everything was clean and made assessing damage so much easier, also never bought a car over four years old ( in case of rust issues making dismantling more difficult ).
Well done Matt really look forward to your updates. :)
Great video Mat and I love the detail you put into making sure the car is straight after having such a big accident. A really cracking car and it will be sad not to see it on the channel for another 5 weeks. Looking forward to seeing the final result and keep up the great videos 👍
Your killin it Matt keep it up🔥
Excellent job as always - looking good! Word on the yellowstuffs, I used to use them as track pads, I still do on the rear but found the fronts lose their bite after one day on track. Should be fine if it’s a road-only build, but for track days I found them to be too expensive to keep replacing even if they’re good!
Loving the journey so far!! Those seats!! What an amazing saving!
I smile every time I see an upload from you. 🙏🏾🇨🇭 keep going Matt. Much love from Switzerland
This easily my favorite channel man!! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much!
@@MatArmstrongbmx Not going to lie your reply just made my day!
Loving the updates, 4-5 weeks will seem like forever!! Keep up the great work Mat
If there’s one person who I can literally watch all day, it’s you Matt!! I’m a passionate car enthusiast and binge watching all episodes is definitely my guilty pleasure! I wish to just visit you one day!!
Keep up the good work mate!!
Best automotive youtuber mat, nice 1
When you press the brake pedal you shut the hole for the brake fluid, That’s why nothing comes out. When you then release the pedal, the fluid can move on and out into the lines
Not in a normal braking system.
@@gdfggggg explain...
@@gdfggggg yes?
That's just not true
@@primozkaluza3621 in a normal braking system, when you press the pedal, fluid is forced down the line pushing the piston out onto the pad then onto the disc.
definition of not being cheap fixing these cars. saw the smallest nick on a rodor and replaced it, most people would of left it! you're amazing
Don’t comment often but wanted to say how much I enjoy the channel. Not mechanically inclined and don’t watch any other channel like yours but there’s something about your content that makes for great watching. Good job matt!
Great video. Being rear engines probably better for trailer balance to reverse the Cayman on 👌🏻
I noticed that and was about to comment, I navigate in a Porsche Boxster and we always load back end towards the front front the correct balance. However I wondered about the missing rear screen and if that was forward facing the airflow could push out the front screen.
Update to that put my glasses on the correct way and there is no front screen either. So best loaded backwards.
*Mid-engineed.
Can not wait to see the change and also the colour 🤔 the exhaust will not take much sorting but what a difference already in the sound 👍
So awesome man 😍🤤 since day 1 of watching you it’s been like getting to watch someone build my personal dream car fleet 😂 the amount of cars you’ve built that Ive wanted to build almost identically is pretty insane haha this build though has been moved to one of my favorites since I’ve been obsessed with wanting to do this exact conversion for a while now, and you’re doing it flawlessly 🤌🏼 love the milltek and makes me so excited to get my milltek kit in&on my TiguanR 😎😍
As always, stay awesome man, and can’t wait to see this one back 🤙🏼
I just found your channel less then a week ago and got addicted. I have watched over half of your videos. You have massively improved over the time. The only thing I have for you is that it would be pretty cool if you could put a page on your website to show the old and current projects. So the new people could see the order of the cars and not have to keep track of dates on videos to see proper order.
coming along nicely. keep up the good work and content Mat !
This series really gives me a piece of mind. Swallowed every single minute. Thanks Mat! Can't wait for the car to be painted!
I randomly came across your Cayman S build series yesterday and now I’m hooked! I hope the bodyshop do a quick turn around as I’m buzzing for the next episode to see what colour you went for!
Hi Matt, the build is looking great and you're covering ground very quickly, excellent job. On the brakes, the fronts are going to be more powerful now as you have increased the effective radius of the discs and you have also fitted the EBC yellow stuff, this will mean the fronts are doing a chunk more work than the rears. Therefore it might be a good idea to fit the yellow stuff pads to the rear as well so that the friction levels are at least the same front and rear.
can't wait for this man to hit a million subs! love this guy's energy!
Dude I can’t wait to for it to be done at the body shop! It sounds so good with those pipes! I can’t stop watching your videos. Every one of them sucks me in and I love it!
Love how the porsha is coming along so quickly from the wrecked car that was.
Well done mate and can't wait to see it again 👏 👍
I`m glued to the screen for every video, Mat. You`re mad entertaining and helpful!
Hey Mat. I'm from Singapore and chanced upon your series on this Porsche. I just wanna tell you I'm so happy and excited watching your rebuilding journey. I could only wish I was living in UK so I can be doing something like you're doing. All the modifications and rebuilding you're doing are close to 0% chance for me to do it in Singapore given the law and the cost. I can probably buy 2 to 3 of your Porsche with the price I paid for a factory VW golf in Singapore.
Mat the only person on You Tube who makes sponsor adverts interesting to watch. Every other channel I forward this section on immediately!
Your content keeps getting better got a crazy fleet of cars now well done man!
I have to be honest, I've never been a big fan of the cars, but you're making me one, I love seeing how you fix everything on the fly and how the cars change as you install the upgrade kits. If only I had the money and time I would seriously consider starting with a cheap car and see what I could do with it.
love this series!!!! thanks a mill Matt
Awesome video, as ever! Thank you for your hard work and taking the time to show the progress in such detail. One question - how do you organise your parts, screws, bits and bobs when working on your projects. How do you remember what went where and in what order? How do you keep the bits together? Any tips for the viewers? Thank you so much!
Even well maintained porsche's are notorious for vehicle fault warnings. Like even just swapping a battery will give you 5 major faults like pdcc system unavailable, system headlamp failure etc etc until driving for a while and system resets. I wouldn't worry too much about the faults if the actual components you are fixing or replacing appear to be working properly. Don't worry about codes until you can actually properly drive the car atleast 50km. keep up the great work dude. Time to do a cayenne turbo or turbo gt next!
Your videos are so good, really enjoying these series.
New subscriber here! Just started watching when you got the Porsche Cayman S 718. I’m totally hooked and impressed with your skill set and and you go about fixing the car, I love cars I hope I can get half the knowledge you’ve got on fixing cars! 😄 I’m learning a lot from this channel! Keep up the good work mate! 🫡👊🏻
YOOO that exhaust is music to my ears I never expected that from a four cylinder but the second I heard the turbos whistling at idle I knew it was going to be special
Awesome work Mat! I love the way you're just fighting through the issues to get what you want and deliver that final vision in your head! Good for you!
you were so right about the colour... and the sound... and the price and everything!!
Love the channel buddy! The production values are off the charts, congrats!
Looking forward to see what colour you picked and bet that exhaust is going to awesome with the exit pipes fitted. As when you did the sound test. The exhausts was facing each other.
Have only recently started watching Matt's video, past few months or so, and honestly the thing that impresses me the most is managing all the fitment pieces, nuts, bolts etc. I can take something off my car, put the bolt down right in front of me and that shit just disappears.
Genuinely the best car CZcamsr out there. Keep up the excellent Mat!
Great work so far Matt, with the exhaust not working out, you could try shortening both existing exit pipes, attach a 90 degree elbow to either side and attach the miltek tips to the elbows to suit the new diffuser.
Just amazes me how quickly you have progressed with your video quality!!I would say that you need to get a tv show. I speak on behalf of alot of us, we need more of your builds and videos! Its addictive😳
Well done Matt, I like the love you put into the car. Very impressive
I’m not much of a car person but I’ve always loved super cars or more exotic cars and you’ve shown me how with the proper determination anyone can do anything. Definitely gonna look into buying a rebuilding a car soon! Cheers mate!
I loved every single episode of this series (tbh I watched some episodes multiple times) so I hop you bought that gt3
This adverts are getting smoother and smoother
This has to be my new favourite channel to watch love every episode can't get enough of it
That sounded like a growling dragon! Awesome bro.
Completely transfixed watching this build, can’t wait for the next bit!!! Congratulations on how well it’s gone thus far! Subscribed a month ago, and loving the vids!
I was waiting so much for PT5, love this series
Honestly I waited patiently for an update on the cayman, it doesn’t disappoint, keep doing a great job
Was planning on skipping to the end but you’re energy had me hooked!
You need some sort of X pipe at the rear or just a 90 degree bend straight out.
The production quality of your vids is really impressive. The cars are nice too 👊
Hi Mat, I just found your yt channel few weeks ago and I absolutely love it! Just wanted to say big thanks to you guys for making such a good content. It came to my routine watching your videos every day after work while eating dinner. You make me feel better! Keep up what you do and your positive energy. All best! Regards from Poland. Can't wait to see this porsche when its done!
Just a word on towing safety. Now because the Coxster is mid rear engine, you want to reverse the car on the trailer, so you have more weight bias over the hitch. Rearward bias on a trailer can induce death wobbles. Ask me how I know. I was not the driver. I was the guy kicking in the windscreen on his Rangerover to get the driver out, after he drove his Ferrari front first onto the trailer. The driver ended up having uncontrolled death wobbles, then rolled his Rangerover, car trailer and Ferrari. Thank you for entertaining and sharing.
I wish you uploaded more often, but you put so much into your videos that I know it wouldn’t make sense if you did. I love this channel and the happiness your videos bring me. Keep at it brother!
Loved the video honestly so much progress was made in this episode 🔥♥️
Been absolutely glued to this build!
Would love you to do a ST185 Celica a classic and a great car
Great video mat!
Maybe it would be advisable to put some thermal shield between the exhaust and the shock? Seems like there was some on the stock exhaust and seeing the fit of the new one makes me anxious
I don't really follow any CZcamsrs at all but I found you awhile back and I must say that you and your videos are a true inspiration!
I love how he gets soo much done in 1 video unlike other CZcams rebuilds
New to the channel, Loving this built and the Lambo built, On holiday in Jamaica right now watching all your video's. Great stuff 😊
Perfect timing! Ive just finished watching part 4 😅
This is sooo satisfying to watch, I’m impressed with your confidence and bravery to take an angle grinder to a Porsche
you made this look like really easy, nice work im a mechanic for 15 years guess nice job for the editing
There doesn't seem any limits to your craft. Looking forward to see what livery you are going with. Best wishes on all your projects.
Mat, how about adding Spotify links to the music you used for the video?
Its strange how I've followed you since early 30k days with your TT. You're absolute smashing the youtube game with really motivational content. I've been building my R32 Skyline since I've watched you and its helped alot to motivate me. Keep it up
I love how cars are so different!! Also I love vibing to the outro 😆
Its a good monday when mat uploads 💪🏼
Mat love the videos keep up the work. The kit for the exhaust to make it to a gt needs to be flipped around so the bends are up to the pipes with sleeves over them for the flow
Loving the build dude 🤘🏽
Love your vids matt you need to get one more vw golf jus for old times sake 💯
im glad you're getting a new exhaust fabricated because that idea was horrific. you'll be able to have the exhaust exit immediately rather than go in and out
Binged watched the whole series so far, keep up the wicked content man!
This channel is so well done, in eagerly wait each new episode and it’s so interesting to see how you learn how to do this
Wow bro you a technical genius and you learn so fast it's incredible. And I use to own a workshop for 10 years.
nice to watch your activity mat with background sound great bro!
Brilliant Mat. Loved this video. Good luck with the rest of the project fella
