When Pete's plane crashes in the swamp, he's rescued by young Tammy, an unsophisticated backwoods girl who lives with her lay-preacher-cum-moonshiner grandfather. When Pete's well, he goes back home to his fiancée. But then Grampa gets sent to jail and he sends Tammy to stay with Pete. At Pete's house, Tammy's home cooking, enthusiasm and quaint sunshiny personality bring about changes in Pete's family and in Pete himself.

This is one of my most favorite movies. I've watched it for years as it used to be up on CZcams. Recently however I found out that it was taken off and it made me so sad as I can't seem to find it on Prime or any other movie streaming service. I'm planning on purchasing the DVD version once I get a new DVD player but it saddens me that such amazing films like Tammy and the bachelor are slow by slowly being forgotten. I'm only 20 and don't plan on having kids for a while but when I do have children of my own I want to be able to show them movies like this. Movies that I grew up loving, movies that taught me to dream. To whoever took the time to read this comment please introduce older films to your children and grandchildren or anyone you can. These pictures deserve to continue to be the timeless pieces that they are. Thank you for giving me a moment of your time and I hope you have a wonderful week😊💕

Of course Debbie Reynolds is the sensation of the film, but you also have a young Leslie Nielsen as a leading man! God, what an offer

I gotta watch this flick! Leslie Nielsen, the theme, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, Debbie Reynolds and the vintage / nostalgic touch on this movie are reason enough.

Just watched this again after seeing it as a little kid! It's a funny, sweet movie and Leslie Nielsen is so young and handsome!

My mum did too! I love this magical film which gives us a glimpse into a different time..
That is truly beautiful. This song and movie holds so much for so many. My mother never sang this to me but I remember when I was younger I would often sit in my windowsill watching the birds and the trees outside while humming it to myself.
I never saw the movie as I was only 11 and one had to be 16 to be admitted but I shall watch it now!
