    I know it’s got to be a lot of extra work to create videos during lambing, so a big thanks from a subscriber who just loves watching those cute lambies being born. 🐑💕

    Triplets never go well. I made an exception and a mistake of leaving a triplet on a ewe who loved her lambs fiercely. After a tough night, the wee one perished, proving the point. It’s years since I have seen a hooded crow, we used to see enormous flocks of black and hooded crows raiding arable crops. Hope the adoption goes well.

    13:13 here in the states I will let a ewe try to raise triplets if she's got decent milk, and has exceptional mothering instincts so as to not get overwhelmed mentally,although additionally I get all the lambs eating creep feed mini-pellets asap so it's a bit like apples - oranges.

    Joann can sure swing a lamb. Good job. What we also use is Respirot. Not sure if you would be allowed to use that as an organic farmer.
    I think your fan base is ready for some bloopers 😉

    We reared 9 full sets of triplets 1 year but they were kept inside and fed well. The lambs were the first to go but they had creep under them. Mind you that was the only year they went well.

    Leaving triplets on never works well. I believe some breeds would definitely have enough milk but momma is programmed to stand for a few seconds and move on. Especially when the lambs get older and more demanding on her udder. This leaves one lamb going without each time. My concern with that is the damage that the lamb does to the ewe's udder trying to find a teat but not succeeding.

    Do you boys in Ireland put an Lplate in the pick up window to warn people you're lambing get yourself a Shepherds crook save a bit of running in have one which you can catch the ewes feet in 👌happy lambing lot of big lambs around this year always take one off a triple 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    Great video. You can feed the crow dog food or layers pellets, it'll be cheaper and easier than sliced ham. Make sure he has water though as nuts and pellets will make him thirsty. Tinned dog food won't. You could wire the water container to the cage to stop it getting knocked over.

    NZ Romney development ewes will rear 3 lambs on their ear, and good lambs at that, if they don’t, they will be culled, if they have them, they have to rear them

    • @emmett1739
      @emmett1739 Před 2 měsíci

      I hate the word triplets at scanning , and while some ewes will rear triplets one year they will not the following year and infact it causes a lot of udder damage .if they were made to rear 3 they would have 3 teats..give me 1.5 good beltex lambs per ewe any day .goodluck

    • @shanereaney3631
      @shanereaney3631 Před 2 měsíci

      There is no way any ewe will rear three lambs not on

    • @chrisoconnor5880
      @chrisoconnor5880 Před 2 měsíci

      @@shanereaney3631 they certainly can and do, in the NZ Romney development flocks, any ewe needing assistance to lamb is culled, any ewe producing a set of twins or triplets, must rear them to weaning, or she is culled
      And they do this outside, as well,
      Do some research, you will find what I say is absolutely correct
      And they will put one ram to at least 150 ewes, and wean 150% plus

    Why did she put water on the back of the newborn lamb? I’ve never seen anyone swing a new lamb that hard. I was afraid she was gonna accidentally hit its head on the ground. Is there a reason for being that rough? I’m just curious because I watch a lot of sheep shows and am trying to understand why that was so different from what I’ve ever seen. Thanks for the entertainment and information.

      Yea that was crazy!! Lol I'm like if we swung any animal like that over here in the states we would be arrested!! Thats animal abuse!! And i agree the way she was swinging it was waaaaay over board! I didn't like that! Idk its crazy bc the only time i ever see the whole swinging of the lambs up side down is from youtubers overseas! I know why they do it but it still seems a little excessive to whale them around like that! I always hate seeing anyone do that to any of them cute babies!! Its not a life or death thing bc the master sheeper Sandi (lol) has never once had to swing a baby around to keep it alive! She just sucks the goop out to clear its airway! So if many many ppl can lamb and not have to swing them around then obviously you can do without it! Just my opinion! 🤷🏼 And just like you I also was confused about why she poured water on the head bc she just washed away all the smell and the mom could of just left it and walked away bc it didnt smell like her! It could of ended bad with an abandon baby! So idk why she did it either! 🤷🏼 Well hope you have a great day hun!! 😊😊

      @ewetube.videos  Před 2 měsíci +3

      Cheers for your comment and for watching the video. 😁
      She is pouring water into it's ear there, it's a trick to wake them up and get them going and breathing.
      I agree with you about the swinging, it was a bit much, different maybe if the lamb was struggling to breath but the lamb was lively and quite healthy considering its tough lambing.
      I assure you however that Joanne has alot of care for our sheep, more so than me! Anything she does, is because she's fully convinced it's for the lambs benefit, for example she insisted on bringing the ewe and lamb home even when I wanted to leave it in the field.
      I'll ask her about the swinging and maybe get her to tone it down a bit.
      Cheers for the feedback guys. 😁

    the questions to answer leaving 3 lambs on - will she have enough in the in Autumn and tupping time to breed back or will she be empty - will all 3 survive as many loose 1 or 2 because they are not getting enough to eat - I was watching Tom Pemberton this morning on youtube and he wants to leave 3 lambs on a ewe and I questioned that idea - because they are in what were would call a "home paddock" he could leave them on if he took a bottle out 3 times a day to see who was hungry
