Shearing in different countries is definitely not the same,(sheep types, venues, fields, sheds, pay, value of the wool, working conditions, weather, etc) but the people are all salt of the earth, nice people...

When we were young , we were made shear every dead ewe , that way we learned to shear as she didn't kick , the burial whole was smaller to dig afterwards and back then the fleece was worth money .

The black lamb probably had bloat, too much spring grass after being on hay. I think it's treated with a drench of olive oil, bicarbonate of soda and water.

I did the same thing at a nursing home I worked at I ,took 2 newborn lambs in, the residents absolutely loved it and also all the staff, we used continence aids for Nappies so no mess .It was wonderful to see the smiles on their faces This was in ACT Australia
