The whole band was ON FIRE. Roger Taylor's drumming and background vocals are epic. Many claim this is the best live performance in rock history.
? let me know just a innocent ? could you see it all I could see was rain and a blacked out screen with glimpses of Freddies vest
@@carolwinstanley2411 there are full unedited versions…….👀
My favorite quote regarding this performance was "it was the only 20 minutes since 1952, that Britain was ruled by a different Queen." May both her Majesty and Freddie be resting in Peace.
PURE FIRE! ❤❤❤😂😂😂
Agree with all and... I WAS THERE!!!......
Nephew. The second song you reacted to was "Radio Gaga". Lady Gaga took her stage name from this song. Gaga paying homeage to Freddie and the band is proof the impact the band has had on music, rock, and pop culture. 🖤🖤🖤❤❤❤
Freddie sounded this amazing in spite of the fact that he had laryngitis the week before this concert. His doctor recommended that he cancel his appearance but he went on and made rock history. You don't have to block your screens for Queen reactions, they're happy to have their videos watched and shared. The crowd reaction was even more impressive because it was not a "Queen crowd", Queen wasn't even listed in the advertising for the concert because they didn't commit until after the ads were printed. They had to do abbreviated version of Bo Rhap and We Will Rock You because each group had exactly 20 minutes for their set and Queen wanted to include as many of their most popular songs as possible. Wembley had seating for 72,000 for sporting events, so this concert had that plus all of the people on the playing field.
Freddie wrote 'Crazy little thing called love' in honor of Elvis.
And Yes we will rock you is a queen song.
Freddie supposedly wrote it in 5-10 minutes, such a talent ❤
I never knew that, can totally hear it now!
The crowd is singing along with him. That crowd would do anything for him...💙💛❤️💜🧡💚
His stage presence and crowd control, absolutely unmatched. Music is forever the great unifier. How else could that many people behave in unison!? They were hypnotized and I don’t blame them. What an experience ❤
Queen love their fans, then and now. Thats why they don't block reactors videos. They wrote songs their audience could interact with like We are they champions. Queen was a family that considered us part of it. Freddie told us he loved us all the time. I believed he meant it. This concert lasted 16 hrs. There was something like 70 acts and seen by billions of people all over the world live. If you weren't there you were watching on your tv. No one who preformed was paid. They did it to save people who were staving to dearh.
Queen was the best band EVER, and Freddie was a magical being.
Yes, he was & sent for awhile by God…to change the World for this! ❤❤❤😅😅😅
I was a teen in the 70’s & fell in love with Queen then! The only famous person I ever cried over was losing Freddy. He lives in my heart, always. ❤❤❤
Freddie was a god on stage.
Strong statement, there's no doubt Freddie Mercury was the greatest frontman in rock history but there's been better or as good bands; Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple etc...
@@adamknight7041 There have been many great bands, but I don't think any can touch Queen's versatility. From heavy metal to jazz to tin pan to opera and more. They could just about do it all.
SHON, FYI:Crazy little thing called love was written in 1979 in the bath in under 10 minutes by Freddie Mercury. Freddie sang it in a rockabilly way as a tribute to Elvis!!!!!
Yep, another Crazy, but true Freddie Fact!
Absolutely love Queen, there will never be another Freddie Mercury 💜
"Queen is music for the gym." Yep! That's my go to on the treadmill; especially their concerts. I love your excitement for Queen.
Thank you for the gym music inspiration!
Its just a 20 minute set and not a Queen concert, so the crowd wasn't necessarily Queen fans, it was part of a much larger event for the Famine in Africa. Roger wrote Radio Ga Ga, Dr Sir Brian May Hammer To Fall and We Will Rock You, Fred Bo Rap, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and We Are The Champions, none of John songs in this set, and both Freddie and Sir Brian are back later around 9.30pm with a song they wrote Is This The World We Created. All four wrote the songs and the mic was a happy accident, the mic stand broke and he was left with just the top half, instead of asking for another he just carried on and the rest is history
so true but they up to highest level after
I believe that the mic stand breaking was a happy accident from a much earlier concert and Freddie decided he liked the extra mobility it gave him over a conventional mic stand and liked. it as a prop instead of just a mic on a cable or wireless (not sure if they had wireless mics yet), so he kept it and it became one of his trademarks.
Thank-you for reacting to their entire performance. As I’m sure others have said.. Queen were one of many, many performers for this Live Aide Concert to raise $$ for African famine. It was viewed world wide with estimated over a billion people watching, and there were 70,000+ at the venue too. Queen had not performed together live for a minute, and weren’t sure how they would be accepted bc they were a late add to the program - so those attending didn’t necessarily know that Queen would even be performing. Each band were given 20 minutes, and it was as strict time bc they had so many performers. Queen built their set using their most popular songs.. but they cut them down to get as many as possible into the 20 min set. They didn’t disappoint.. they were on 🔥 that day.. Freddie played the crowd, and the band played flawlessly!! I’ve seen this performance many, many times… it NEVER gets old! Great reaction, thank you! Side Note: the 2nd song, Radio GaGa is where Lady Gaga got her name (she loves Queen); it was written by the drummer, Roger Taylor.
Actually Freddie was told before this performance by his doctor that he shouldn’t do it because he had a throat infection at the time! But he spent time preparing his voice so he could still do this!
Crazy little thing called love was a rockabilly type. It was a tribute to Elvis that Freddie wrote, so you are correct! He was one of his music heroes. ☺️
Man, I honestly get goosebumps every time I watch them get into *_Radio Ga Ga!_* 4:52 *EDIT:* LOL! I stopped to write this and got goose bumps AGAIN when the audience started clapping along. 😄👏
_Fantastic reaction!_
I have loved this band forever now; I was blessed to see them when they were on their " A Night at the Opera" tour and have loved them ever since. To have four musicians of their caliber together is and was something very special. Enjoy the ride
They only had 19 mins and they gave it exactly. Freddie had been advised not to sing as he had a throat infection, he downed a vodka and went out and did THIS! Widely regarded as the best rock performance OF ALL TIME!! ❤❤
I really enjoyed watching you enjoying this Queen concert. The crowd had been there all day and were tired when they came on. Queen put the life back in them. So glad you liked it. Great reaction. 😁👍🏾
There was an encore later that evening. Brian and Freddie performed Is This the World We Created. at closing. Early songs from Live at the Rainbow 1974 and Live at the Odeon Hammersmith 1975 are excellent. LIAR, STONE COLD CRAZY, IN THE LAP OF THE GODS REVISITED, SEVEN SEAS OF RHYE. and from 1975 WHITE QUEEN is a must see Live. It is an impressive performance. 1976 Live at Hyde Park, YOU TAKE MY BREATH AWAY is just Freddie and his piano and presented before it was recorded. I think you will enjoy all of them. You are giving really good, enthusiastic reviews. I look forward to your next post. Well done.
Great reaction! I’m glad you did the full concert🔥
He didn't
Freddie had crowd control! 😊
Sir Brian Harold May CBE is a British musician, singer, songwriter and astrophysicist. He achieved worldwide fame as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen, which he co-founded with singer Freddie Mercury and drummer Roger Taylor. John Deacon is bassist. 'Hammer To Fall' was authored by Brian!
Thanks for writing this. I love the song.
Freddy was a great performer and everyone loved him and The band.
Personally I feel that Brian May doesn’t get enough credit for how talented of a guitarist he is. Queen with FREDDIE is always the bests, I’m not a big fan(or really even a fan at all) when it comes their partnership with to Adam Lambert. NO ONE can replace Freddie! Queen was their own genre, they were very much before their time. R.I.P. Freddie we miss you!
Queen's guitarist Brian May wrote We Will Rock You Freddie Mercury We Are The Champions.
Queen Set List for Live Aid at 6:41pm
Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio GaGa, Hammer to Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions.
Later that night 9:48pm they played: Is This the World We Created (Freddie and Brian only)
Thanks, shon! Queen basically "stole the show" in this concert - they were a last-minute addition, so this was not a "Queen audience"... Crazy little Thing was totally inspired by Elvis... (we will rock you/we are the champions ALWAYS went together)..
The stadium holds 80,000 people and the concerts.... actually dual concerts as they were also airing one in the US at the same time, went out over satellite and over a billion people watched it live. They raised a whole lotta money for Live Aid.
Yes, the guitarist, Brian May wrote "We Will Rock You" and Freddie wrote "We are The Champions". If you want to react to an earlier song try "Fat Bottom Girls" at Milton Keynes Great reaction and keep it going 😊
Such a great reaction! Can’t go wrong with queen🔥🔥🔥 love your positivity and laugh.😊
He entertained the crowed he does not stand still he hits all points of the stage so everyone is involved (legendary)
Loving your enthusiasm for one of the best bands ever!! 👏👏💜💜🇬🇧🇬🇧
Shon, you mentioned wanting to hear a earlier Queen song, the Live performance of " White Queen " Odeon Hammersmith 1975 I guarantee that this song wiil blow your socks off, so be sure to wear some when listening to this " Hauntingly Beautiful Masterpiece " it's a true story written by lead guitarist Dr.Brian May PhD. The raw talent in this song is friggen amazing. As always, love your reactions and your channel 😊 ps. Queen does not block their music and never have, they adore their fans.
You don't need to mention his doctorate twice when you refer to Brian. You can exchange the first one with Sir - Brian Harold May, PhD.
1.8 billion listened to this world wide. Queen are top of everything.
Love your Queen reactions. You are probably the best & hyped I’ve seen. Do queen “ another one bites the dust “ I’m sure you heard of that one also. Too many bangers to count from them 🔥🔥🔥thanks boss
please do more queen reactions ❤
The songs are, in order, Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Gaga, Hammer to Fall, Crazy Little Thing called Love, We Will Rock You, We are the Champions. Freddie is Legend!! He will Never be Forgotten, Ever! RIP Freddie!! Love you and Miss you!! ❤🙏🏵
Full of energy and fun and great songs. And look at that crowd...WOW...❤❤❤❤
I truly believe the radio having its finest hour is going to be as an instrument to save people from war. Radio will never die as a form of communication at our worst time as long as we have power! Great reaction!
Every time I see this, I am just blown away. Queen wasn’t even on the billing when the people were buying tickets. Imagine showing up sick and putting on a show like that, fully engaging with 72,000 people and rocking out! Now imagine being the next guy in line to go on stage….
This was Live Aid, a huge concert at Wembley England. ALL the popular bands at the time played this concert. They were a last minute addition. They absolutely STOLE the show! None of the other artists wanted to follow them.😆 Best live performance ever!
They did parts of 6 songs, since all the acts just had 20 minutes a piece to perform at live ais
The single most legendary performance from any artist ever.
I’ve seen this vid many times but never witnessed the kind of reaction we got from you…your genuine intensity at their amazing music is just wonderful to watch and is a joy to witness….I’ve just seen there’s a reaction to ABBA’s Dancing Queen… I already have an idea what’s going to happen there! Your stamina’s exhausting me! Keep it going and thanks so much for the classy music.
I'm glad that you reacted to the entire performance. I'm so glad that you're enjoying their music. If you don't mind me recommending a few for you from Queen; Under Pressure live at Wembley (the 5:56 minute version) the interaction he has with the audience is amazing. Another One Bites The Dust live at Wembley, Don't Stop Me Now (the official video) and White Queen live at Hammersmith. I can list so many more. I'm sure you have heard a few of the songs listed. Again thanks for you reactions.
um but He DIDN'T react to the entire performance. Sorry, but I had to mention it, because it made me very disappointed. I can't understand why you'd bother making such a false statement
Oh yeah…UNDER PRESSURE IS AWESOME SONG! 😊😊😊
@@rodb9275 He reacted to We Are The Champions LiveAid a few days earlier, so yeah technically he did do the entire performance which means "I" didn't make a "false statement". Look up the reactions he did and you'll see. Is there anything else in my statement that you would like for me to clear up for you ? Wish people would do their homework before throwing out their accusations, comments, etc....
@@53mandevilla I love his interaction with the crowd. Totally amazing.
@@AngieHorvath ok cry baby
You did not disappoint! Great reaction ❤
Lady GaGa named herself after the second song, Radio GaGa.
From a fan since 1974. Early Queen I suggest Liar from a live concert, older Queen, now I'm here from Saturday concert at Wembley London 1986, this was the last year they toured. Freddie was diagnosed with Aids in 87. He was then too weak to tour but wrote and did studio videos until months before his death in 91. Now I'm here will blow 💥 your mind. I never got to watch the live and on t v in 85 as mumy son decided to be born 11 weeks early .Love your reactions keep going. Love and blessings from England.
Freddie wrote A Crazy Little Thing Called Love as a tribute to Elvis!
Imagine moving around the stage like that with a mic hooked up to a cord. The truly talented roadies did a lot of amazing work behind the scene at concerts.
Wow 😳 beautiful sweet Freddie ❤️ liked subscribed 😁 more queen reactions please 😍 white queen live performance Odeon Hammersmith 🤩 Freddie Mercury's vocals are absolutely breathtaking 😍
White queen is early 70s queen 👑
I was there that day, long and hot but Queen rocked our socks off for 20 minutes! Just my opinion, but I suggest - Early Queen: White Queen live Later Queen: One Vision, Innuendo Freddie solo: In My Defence
This is considered one of, if not THE best live performances ever. Each artist/band at Live Aid had 20 minutes - Queen practiced and polished those 20 minutes until they gleamed. It was timed to the SECOND - the warning lights at the front of the stage turn from yellow to red just after the last note is struck.
14:00 This song is "The Hammer Will Fall"
I watch this still at least once a week!!!! It doesn’t get any better 🤟
Me too!
Finding Queen songs familiar is one of the most common reactions to Queen's big hits as you said their music is often used in TV and movies (indeed they wrote all but one song for the soundtrack of the 1980 movie "Flash Gordon", the only one not written by them was the wedding march, but Sir Brian May (guitar) arranged it for their instruments. They also wrote a large number of the music tracks specifically for the 1986 movie "Highlander", included one of Roger Taylor's (Drums) already existing songs, and performed one other)
As for early Queen music, from their first album "Queen" I quite like "Keep Yourself alive", "Liar" and their first real hit "Seven Seas Of Rye"
From the second album "Queen II" I would choose "White Queen (As It Began)", "The March of the Black Queen" and the slightly weird "The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke" (to be listened to with a picture of the Painting of the same name by Richard Dadd to hand, it is after all Rock Music as art appreciation)
I can't pick only three from the Third album "Sheer Heart Attack" so I'll include "Brighton Rock", "Killer Queen", "Stone Cold Crazy", Bring Back That Leroy Brown" and "She Makes Me (Stormtrooper In Stilettos)"
There is one other that belongs to the third album "Flick Of The Wrist" but it should be paired with "Death On Two Legs (Dedicated to ...)" from the fourth album "A Night At The Opera".
That was the old Wembley Stadium in London with approximately 72,000 people attending, it has since been torn down and replaced by the new Wembley Stadium.
GREATEST 20 minutes of a concert EVERRR🥰🎶♥️
Freddy was one of the world's best entertainers. ❤
Thx for doing the full Queen set. (The video appears backward for some reason...). Great sampler, done in keeping with the global juke box idea envisioned by the concert creators. RADIO GAGA is the song you are diggin' with the electronic vibe. And yep, that's where Lady GaGa picked up her name. So these are big songs that get a lot of play...but oh the gems you will discover for the first time are waiting for their chance!
The 2nd one is Radio Ga Ga...the 3rd one is Hammer to Fall
Crazy little thing called love was a tribute to Elvis written by Freddie
Everyone who was ANYONE did this world wide concert, with each act getting so much time. Queen STOLE THE SHOW! Freddy gave the performance of his life & showed the world he was the best darling! ❤
You dont have to pick a favorite Queen song, just love them all! If you listen carefully, they're music is used all the time in tv and radio commercials. Enjoyed your reaction
Lady Gaga got her name from this song from what I have heard. Queen is from the 70's.
@@astrid3252 yes
If I could bring back any 2 dead people that died too young, its Freddie Mercury & Bob Marley. We missed so many years of their genius..... 😢😢
Most of the audience wasn’t Queen fans, Queen wasn’t even listed in the ads because they confirmed late. They had a tally hit a slump right before this and they came out at this charity concert and killed it. Most of the other groups took their 20 minutes and sang 4 or 5 songs but up until Queen took the stage many of them just dialed it in. The other groups felt Queen had showed them up by treating their 20 minutes like a full concert instead a little sample.
Fun fact… Phil Colins played both at Wembly in London and at the JFK Stadium in New York using the Concorde ✈️ to fly from London to New York in under 3 hours. He was the only artist to play both venues on a live worldwide 🌎 concert. 🎉
play list is Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio GAGA, Hammer to Fall, ( written during the cold war with Russia. Hammer is an emblem on the russian flag, Hammer and sickle) This thing called Love, We will Rock You and We are the Champions. They did rehearse and they only went 12 seconds over their time. You should watch Green Day in Hyde Park where the audience sing Bohemian Rhapsody. Freddie admired Elvis and Crazy little thing called love is his tribute to Elvis. Every one of the band wrote multiple hits. They are currently the highest selling band in history.
There were 72, 000 in attendence and 1.9 Billion watching from around the world , which was 1/4 of the world at that time.
Freddie performed against doctors orders with a throat infection .
Live Aid raised 24 million dollars for famine in Africa .
The audience was so hype because this concert took place in wembley stadium in london, so it was basically a home town concert. The hometown fans had sold out the stadium within a matter of minutes with queen being the headliner. But freddy mercury was still struggling to get over a bout of laryngitis with the concert approaching and all the reports were that he wouldn't be ready and queen were going to be scratched from the lineup.
And the guy on lead guitar is brian may. Widely regarded as one of the top handful of rock guitarists of all time. Brian may and roger taylor (the drummer) were also very good vocalists in their own right that both sang lead vocals and contributed significantly to almost all of queens songs with complimentary and/or backup vocals.
It's been said by many people; the instrument Freddie plays best is the crowd. He really draws them in and makes them part of the show. That song at the 14 minute mark? That's "Hammer to Fall" - the earlier one you asked about was "Radio Gaga".
HI FELLOW SUBSCRIBERS ! Is it only me ?? again screen covered in rain and virtually blacked out all I could see was white glimpses of Freddies vest. I enjoy the reactions but copyright issues are never a issue with Queen, never seen this with any other reactor
You should check out the Bohemian Rhapsody movie that came out back in 2018. It isn’t 100% accurate, but Rami Malek kills it as Freddie.
The guitarist Brian May built that guitar with his father as a teenager. He recently earned a Ph.D in astrophysics!
I graduated HS in 1985. This is an amazing event. Over 1.8 BILLION people, like me, watched it live on TV.
This was a Master Class of “what to do” if you have 20 minutes to show off your talent: Queen owned this event.
A journalist was interviewing the band backstage before they went on. He asked Freddy what instrument he played. Without missing a beat, Freddy answered, "I play the crowd".
The world is certainly a less exciting and gloomier place without the genius, talent, and pure joy of performing that Freddie Mercury and the rest of the band had.
IMO the best live band ever....and studio band too. They were so innovative.
Freddie had such a way with audience.
They were originals and one of a kind.
Rest in sweet peace Freddie.
Thank you for reacting and commenting.
As you liked the guitar player, who wrote "We Will Rock You" btw, ... his name is: *takes_a_deep_breath ... "Sir Dr. Brian Harold May PhD of Astrophysics FRAS Commander of the British Empire" (or something like that) - but it's ok to use "Brian" only! :) Fun fact: Did you know that Brian built his guitar together with his dad as they couldn't afford to buy one? It's made of wood from and old fireplace and parts of a motorcylce! That's where the unique sound comes from. Also he uses a coin instead of a guitar pick! XD
I lived in North Wembley at the time of the concert - which is 2 miles from the stadium. We could just about here some of it - but when Queen came on we could hear all of it and the roar afterwards was incredible - even from that distance, I'll never forget it.
One thing to keep in mind about this concert, it WAS NOT a queen concert. So the audience isn’t loaded with JUST Queen fans. This was one of the biggest concerts since Woodstock. There were a bunch of bands there, it was around a 16 hour concert….. in 2 separate countries simultaneously! But that whole place knew the song….. THAT is impressive as hell.
Live aid had a 1.9 BILLION watching the performances . . . . . . 7 seas of rhye was pretty much thier first succesful radio hit . . .
Starts with Bohemian Rhapsody, then Radio Ga Ga, Hammer to Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions.
I understand that Queen was a late addition to this event, but it is considered the greatest live performance and Freddie Mercury is considered the greatest frontman of all time.
You should check out Another One Bites the Dust. Everyone knows it and it's been sampled a lot, but they were the OG.
Of all the bands I’ll never get to see, queen is in my top 3. This has got to be in the top 3 rock performances. Freddy was the master of stage presence. Queen’s philosophy was to make music that the crowd felt like they were a part of. Must have been a blast to see.
Freddie didn't just take command of the stage, he took command of the crowd and even now his videos and music still do the same thing.
Thank you for reacting to the best live performance ever! Queen were almost always better live! Crazy Little Thing Called Love was written by Freddie as a tribute to Elvis! Pls just remember the golden rule, never ever pause during a Brian May guitar solo or the Queen army will come down on you hard!🤣 Brian is now Sir Brian May having been knighted by King Charles 111! Love your reactions, more Queen pls! Love from Australia 🇦🇺
My favorite piece of trivia about this concert: If you watch the audience clapping during Radio Gaga, you'll notice a ripple that starts at the stage, then fans out to the back of the stadium. Some experts studied that ripple and timed it. You are literally witnessing the speed of sound happening in the crowd.
Over 72,000 people were there!
Another awesome reaction!
Thanks Rah!
Best 27 minutes of my day.
💚
I came from NYC to see Freddie n Roger n Brian and Queen at Live Aid I was 17. I cannot tell you what it was like but Amazing to have been there. I had seen Queen on their first US Tour at MSG in NYC and in also in Canada. That was the best show I have ever seen in my life, and I have seen Some of the best musician ever, this was hands down the best I have ever seen live in my life. RIP Freddie
Let’s GO! Hammer to Fall pumps me UP. Definitely one of my all time favorite songs. I could run through a rock wall whenever I heard this.
This was actually on television so millions of people around the world saw this when they did it. Freddie LITERALLY had the world 🌎 in his hands that night. EVERYONE tuned in just for Queen!!
Freddie Mercury was the Real Deal. He wrote his own songs, he can sing, play the guitar, play the piano, crowd control at 1 million. All four members have attended universities: Mercury had a degree in graphic design and illustration; May has a degree in physics and has done graduate work in astronomy; Taylor has a degree in biology; Deacon earned a degree in electronics with first-class honors. 9:13 Even dead Freddie STILL has not peaked. Freddie died back in 1991... 32 YEARS after he went to Eternity he is still watched. 12:17 78,000 people following Freddie's direction. 18:20 Freddie was the Original Extrovert. 22:53 Freddie in his youth was heavily influenced by The King. This song is a tribute .
Queen is my all time favorite rock band and I loved seeing you enjoy watching Queen as much as I do‼️
The fact that Freddie Mercury could put in such an amazing show whilst being in such severe pain due to his Aids illness is almost supernatural.
That he did this while knowing he did not have long left is just amazing.
Crazy little thing called love was his tribute to Elvis. Written just for that reason.
this was Freddies tribute to elvis who he admired. He wrote this song in the bath. Brian as always doing a great guitar solo.
You should check out their entire "It's A Kind Of Magic" album, it became pretty much the entire soundtrack for all the Highlander movies and the T.V. Series
I was there. One of 100,000 in the stadium. Just front and right of the mixing stage. What a day. Freddie and the guys capped it.
Freddie held a mic in one hand and the audience in the other...A true legend.
I watch this all the time enjoyed your reaction!!! The GOAT
Early Queen, see if you can find 'Seven Seas of Rhye' (I think there is a live video lurking around somewhere on YT?) and 'Killer Queen' (do the 'Top of The Pops' version). There are a lot of live concert videos from 1974 and 1975 on YT too, check them out. :-)
In my opinion the best place to see "Seven Seas Of Rhye" is at the Wembley concert where the video is teamed with "In The Lap Of The Gods (revisited)" and "Tear It Up". Three for the price of one!
Bear in mind, this wasn't a Queen audience as the band were a very late confirmation to the line up; yet from those very first notes of Bo Rhap, Freddie had every single person in the palm of his hand.
