Sol is Solo but half the balls
I really don't think the coven was planning to sacrifice the children. The big thing that gives the Jedi (and Ryan) that impression is what Mae says during her Jedi test. But if you go back and look at what Mother Aniseya says to Mae in episode 3 (when the kids aren't paying attention during their lesson), the statements are much, much more innocuous. Mae just garbled them all up when attempting to repeat them to the Jedi, and they ended up sounding terrible. Any parent can tell you that kids are awful at remembering the things you're trying to tell them!
I think Doug's pairing of Chardonnay with a "nice dead bird" is a great example of duality. Starting out very genteel and classy and ending very savagely. I love you, Doug!

Final season Clone Wars, Mother Talzin convinced a tribe to sacrifice force sensitive beings into a pit while stealing their force essence. She was going to transfer all of that force essence into her self during a convergence of moons.
I think I remember that one did Mace stab her right in her green cloud? Was Jar Jar flirting with their queen to keep her occupied because her tribe did not trust the Jedi? Except for Ventress’ unfortunate life, Night Sisters while they could be naughty, did not want to rule the galaxy. Night Sisters did not seem to mind handling both sides of the Force, they used whatever served their purpose. According to Sidious, Mother Talzin was not ambitious enough. I wonder if Sidious would like that move after Grievous wiped out the Night Sisters? Were the Jedi frightened by colorful clouds because of the Night Sisters?
Yes it is the episode in which Mace Windu has to join Jar Jar because the queen trusts only Jar Jar (they are in love)
@@Obbe79 Thank so much, I really appreciate that I was trying look it up (seems so long ago).
I also kept noticing whenever Master Sol walked up on them they were seemingly yelling at the girls or disciplining them. So i think Sol was also thinking i have to save these girls these witches are not treating them well (even though we know for the most part that is not true)
Aren't jedis trained from children not to trust their eyes. 😒
What ever happened to stranger danger? I guess Jedi in the galaxies have street cred.
@@jdamoormartinirossi791 I wonder if that's not the exact reason those are pretty much Sol's very first words in the show.
I thought so too.

"Torbin chooses to run off to destroy a witch coven because he's homesick." That about sums him up.
Kelnacca became a hermit more so because he used his claw is Combat. The Wookiees held true to their code of honor, under which claws were never to be used for fighting. A Wookiee who used his or her claws for combat would be labeled a “madclaw” and exiled. Some were also charged by tradition of killing those members of their kind that engaged in the practice of using their claws in combat, as the act dishonored their race.

I wish the show explored this idea, that’s very interesting
@@thomasd728 Great Wookie lore. I hadn't heard that before.
This guy KotORs. Nice
Forgot about that lore, but that makes perfect sense. Shows us exactly how Headland did not just talk out of her ass, that she liked the old republic, but actually uses it for world building.
I love that the hexagon bit has risen to the level of recurring bit just like "this is your mom"
"not the bees" 😂😂😂😂. classic!!
"I'm gunna light this book on fire"
"Oh no the books on fire!"
Sol never told Osha that he killed her mother. That's gotta come back to bite him. For some strange reason, it seems that Mae never told Osha that Sol killed their mother, eventhough she has a few chances since they discovered each other.
Sol blocking and taking all of Space Witch Mom 2’s hits without turning on his lightsaber was pretty awesome. The emotions seen through his facial expressions, seeing everything go out of control.

You gave me the idea that torbin was incepted, deep mindtricked to do whatever to go home, hence rushing to the temple.
That would make it make sense.
Could also explain ben solo and anakins harsh reactions
@@blairhoughton7918 Sense isnt what the writers are known for.
Yeah, I think that is why he behaved so irrationally, due to the way his will was altered while under mind-control, but his rushing back to the temple was more of an accidental side-effect of the mind-control, and not an intentional move set-up by the witches. It was an unintended consequence that came back to bite them. It's another instance of a choice based on a noble intention leading to the exact opposite outcome. In this case Mother Aniseya used the mind control to try to protect her coven, but that decision tragically led to all of them being killed.
i prepare myself for "this is your mom" every time but it catches me offguard every time also lmfao
I 100% forgot all of that dialogue from Phantom Menace and that makes this episode a lot cooler
Indara was the only character that had any sense and at the end she also said fuck it let’s not tell the council what happened.
because nothing did? Mae did indeed start the fire, and when telling her mothers they did nothing but begin to attack.. and the other turned into a creepy black mass. and the other witches began to get into kelnacca's mind? yet... there's a fire.
The wookie didn't really do anything wrong. Not his fault 50 witches possessed him.
@@thomashernandez6985He probably felt guilty for allowing them in. Just like with Torbin, they have to be tempted to go "black eyed". The mother invaded Torbin. 50 witches had to do a hive mind to overtake Kalnacca.
Indara is trying to save everyone's reputation with the Jedi Council.
Maybe a bit of self preservation as the leader of the expedition, and maybe a bit of wanting to salvage something out of the situation (Osha’s training) and knowing the council is rigid. Still, I feel like someone else could have trained Osha even if they told the council what happened. Council would have been pissed, but under the circumstances the Jedi actions aren’t totally unjustified.
If they're intent on killing two kids they created just to attain immortality, yeah that sounds pretty evil.

@@nah7656nah.. a few million clones will do the job just fine.
But we don't see any proof that is what was going to happen... I think the writers just wanted it to be ambiguous so audience could see how Sol got to the point of Murdering their Mom
Mae actually misinterpreted what her mother said. So of course the Jedi got scared. This show is all about absolutes and how different types of force users are scared of each other and do not take time to understand the other,
I wish it was written better so that point was actually discussed
You’re being very kind , but I respect that. ❤
Hmm, perhaps the other witches were all sacrificed to fulfil their destiny in that mind control trick against Kelnacca. Not quite sure they needed the entire coven for that but whatevs.
@@misha49ishI wish people like you had better media literacy instead of having brain rot & chalking it off as "bad writing".

I was annoyed that mother turns into a creepy black cloud and then is like, "I was going to let her go." Like dude, if you were going to let Osha go then why turn into a creepy ass black cloud? Sol reacted accordingly and she is all like, "why did you stab me?"

Midichlorians aren't stupid AT ALL. It's basically Star Wars quantum physics, it makes the question much deeper and even more interesting.
It makes a mystical force space bugs. That's real lame.
many found it stupid because the Force was this magical / spiritual thing and then George Lucas made it about the # of bugs in your blood. much less magical feeling lol
Some people are threatened by anything scientific. The average person that hated midichlorians were ignorant high school drop outs. It explains how Luke and Leia were as powerful as their father. Midichlorians are stupid but a vergence of the force isn't? Purgil space whales make perfect sense though? Make up your mind. Haters in Hollywood manipulated the press to criticize everything in the Phantom Menace, including the Midichlorians. Weak minded sheep were too dumb to know they were being manipulated and used. Lucas made a lot of enemies when he left the actors union and the Academy.
In reality we all have mitochondria in our cells. As we reach middle age the mitochondria we have in our cells, the less energy we have and our health worsens. Michondria are microscopic organisms. If you were a dunce in high school, you skipped biology and took earth science 4 times in a row and never learned about the organisms in our cells. Your lack of education makes midichlorians far-fetched.
@@vfwarlordforever9589I think you're confusing organisms for organelles. Mitochondria are not tiny life forms. But I agree that midichlorians are loosely analogous to mitochondria.

@@franchescamayialmonte1303maybe we have an approach akin to Dune. Transferring your own essence into the next generation so that every new one has the kowledge of the former ones sort of.
@@franchescamayialmonte1303 you think it’s a Flemeth from Dragon Age situation? I dunno. I see that it’s possible, but I think it’s exactly what Aniseya said to the twins, it ties them to each other and the coven. I think the thread sort of puts them all on the same circuit, Force-wise, but the risk is what happened when Indara broke the possession.

“Ironic” - Palpatine
It is ironic, but it also indicates that the Jedi were already somewhat unbalanced. Complacency, hypocrisy, politics, and fear a lot of dark side stuff already present yet ignored or just not acknowledged. The Jedi were already slipping into darkness, no wonder 10k Jedi could not sense something as powerful as Sidious.
Interesting how Master Sol called Mae Osha when she ran out before the mother was killed. Made me think there was going to be a mixup where they actually save Mae instead of Osha. Since it wasn’t mentioned later, I thought I was going crazy
I noticed that too.
I was waiting for him confusing the two children to be explained in-show, but it wasn’t. Even more confusingly, I’ve watched three CZcams “breakdowns“ of the episode, and no one has mentioned it, either.
@@kirktrue938I still have a half-baked suspicion that they were mixed up, and Osha and Mae have been switched this entire time. The plot's like a random number generator at this point. And not in a cool Rashomon-like POV kind of way.
Yes, surprised no-one is mentioning this! I was thinking it was proof Sol wasn't really feeling a force pull towards Osha but projecting it.
I took it as a hint that he doesn't really have a mystical connection to Osha, he just wants an apprentice and is letting his desire cloud his judgment. He immediately thinks she's Osha because he WANTS it to be Osha.
I actually thaught he was feeling ousha being in danger, after Mae talked to them. And therefore screamed her name out.
21:18 This was all completely avoidable. She could have easily turned to Sol and quickly told him that everything was going to be okay, and that she needed to help her daughter in that moment. Instead she chooses to not say anything and turn into a scary smoke monster during a moment of high tension while standing next to a stranger with a lightsaber. I don’t blame Sol at all, that was some freaky stuff.

@JasonDuaineHahn I mean... the whole entire thing could have been avoided but... Sol wanted his padawan of destiny so.. but yes I agree. A single word from either of them might have averted that
I like the part at the end on the cat walk when they are just screaming each other’s names until it collapsed
@jayobie8195 does seem a little forced in order to give Sol his "Sophie's choice" moment. Visually, it makes sense, I guess..

@@ck_p3786 I literally pointed out I didn't like it until this last episode but alright. Just seems like you have an underdeveloped frontal lobe if you don't see how things tie into each other, or what makes it a cohesive story, so far. I dare you to name anything in the show that happened that hasn't already happened in pre or post acquisition by Disney, OTHER than the stupid chant the witches did. If you try, I guarantee I'll find an instance of it in legends or canon. "This is not star wars" yeah okay
Edit - and just an example: stupid stuff like the chant is even something I can prove is already in star wars to a degree. George Lucas made dumb decisions too like "midichlorian" and friggin Jar Jar was all over the prequel films and the show. Corny has been in star wars, sexual themes have been in star wars, poor portrayals of things have been in star wars, etc. You probably have more of a problem with the showrunners than the actual show, or you're just another rage bait fake star wars fan. Ignore @ck_p3786. The same comment is pasted in every single reply in this comment section with no follow up. A bot is my guess. Anyway, I totally agree with you! This episode tied everything together so well. So many shows drop the ball on making things connect in the end and I was super impressed by how thoroughly the creators of this show have thought things through. Sol struggling to explain himself in the past episodes totally makes sense now that we know he killed Mother Aniseya due to giving in to fear, and that he chose to save Osha over Mae, and that he let Indara talk him into not being transparent with the council, which means he's had to secretly harbor these regrets for 16 years and has never felt absolution. I thoroughly enjoyed this week's episode. I'm intrigued to see how things play out in next week's finale.
Kalnacca's "symbols' are recent... before Sol heads off, they mention that he has stopped responding to them. I think when Mae made her move, whatever is left of the coven was re-ignited and re-ignited in him.
He also knows Qmir, that is why he was killed, sitting down with his saber not near him.
I said in a previous review that I think he was preparing a meal for guests. He was being promised answers.
Honestly like this episode definitely not the worst like other people are saying
They're mad and don't want to admit that the impetuousness of Tobin and Sol are the reason so many things went wrong in the episode. It seems a lot of people are just upset that it's not presenting things as simply good and bad morally, but it seems to instead focus on causes and consequences.
@@MausiMisty can you then explain what torbin was going to do? if you saw a giant black fart in front of you, would you just be chill about it? yeah sol should have just covered his nose.
@@nah7656 Why were they in a place against the Jedi Council's Orders to begin with.
@@MausiMisty on the planet? to study the force vergence. either torbin was really homesick or aniseya messed with his mind. sol left to stop him but could see that osha was in danger by using the force. it's not very clear to the audience why torbin acted like a child and became so rash, sol became rash because he knew osha needed help, and aniseya turned into a creepy black mass that made it look like Mae was disintegrating. yeah... look I didn't write this show. many things are still unclear to the audience.
Nice video! Loved it 🥰🥰🥰
I NEVER knew I NEEDED a fully grown wookie swinging a LIGHTSABER! 🤯
This still doesn't make the rise of sky ended "Good"
it was always a great ending... it ended and I was so grateful that it ended
Doesn't make it good, but explains it a little, which is better than trash ending and don't explain anything.
Exactly my thoughts. Yeah it makes more sense now but definitely doesn’t make it good lol

@@Heru_Iluvatar ?? I did
All I got from this video was that Doug enjoys a nice pairing of chardonnay and dead bird. Love you, Doug!
Final Episode is going to be a triumph, “With my Yoda, Yo-Yo-Yo-Yo-Yoda, Yo-Yo-Yo-Yo-Yoda”
That was a cool and refreshing break from Star Wars tradition to play Poewer of Two by Victoria Monet at the end of episode 7 of The Acolyte. It actually felt like a natural closing song for that episode! I'm kinda feelin this new urbanization of Star Wars.
Exar Kun did not gain his full power as a Sith until he learned Force Magik from a coven of force witches called the Krath, knowledge his passed on as Sith sorcery which many science minded Sith scoffed at.
Later Palpatine was beginning to verse Dooku in Sith sorcery.
Which means Palpatine like Doom was a multi tiered threat Political Combat Science, and Sorcery
I gotta say the action of this show has been on point the entire season! 👌 🔥🔥
I expected Indara to be the one that caused the fight with the witches, so I was surprised to see that it was Sol that wanted to investigate the coven and ultimately caused everything bad to happen.
Also, episode three was from Osha's perspective, so if anyone thought the witches seemed lame, it's because she herself thinks that too. In this episode the coven seemed dark and powerful, because they're showing completely different perspectives. I hella loved this episode and it makes me see episode three in a whole new way.
Your breakdown helps me appreciate this episode a lot more . I m still not sure about this series but let’s see if they can stick the landing
So who's the legeds sith we see in the finale? Its gotta be Darth Tenebrous right? Or is it Plagueis who has been experimenting on Qimir to keep him alive longer? That would add more context to his line of "it was a long long time ago" when referring to when he was a jedi.
Tenebrous is the sith at this time give or take 20 years
@@ked49 we'll see if Disney holds true to that timeline 👀
It's going to be Darth Ex Machina.
We'll won't get shit. Qimir or whatever his name will become Disneys version on Tenebrous or Plagueis.
@russells5224 I would believe that except they really are hinting hard at this Knights of Ren/ Kylo Ren theme connection. But I am interested to see if they do pull one of these Legendary Sith. I think they need to, but I don't see a Bith being terrifying on screen. They're gonna have to really sell it to me. I only imagine Biths in cantinas playing sax lol
Indara didn’t encourage the cover up for Mae! She killed 50 people while trying to break the mind hold. She was in charge and it went terribly wrong. She covered up to save her own ass.
I don't think Indara killed them. I think they just passed out 🤔 and died in suffocation caused the fire.
i wasn't very clear on whether those witches all died or just pass out, either way i think it was their own fault, and what Indara did was at worst self defense
@rubendelgado5098 well, it is indeed mostly jedi's fault, but I won't blame Indara. Osha's home was destroyed and Jedi Council didn't want Osha. If she didn't cover for Sol, I doubted other master would take Osha in. What would that be for Osha? I don't she did that all just for herself.
@@sikeyin7623 Matrix rules... their consciousness was unplugged, they died, and Trinity killed them.

Loved the song, too :)
Making me excited as i go home from work for the latest episode is good enough for me, no matter how people hate Acolyte
I really wanted Mae to not have started the fire, would have made for a great tee shirt.
"Mae didnt start the fire, it was mother coral and the other witches"
I hate it when the small oil lantern burns down my stone fortress
Mae didn't start the fire. It was always burning since the world was turning
@@MrBenoo08 The wall is made of wood. The wiring, like all wiring, has flammable coating. Stone is sturdy, but a big enough explosion doesn't really matter to structural integrity.
After seeing Koril basically weaponize Mae, I think Koril is Qimir (which would be kind of weird after episode 6) or is somehow manipulating Qimir to do her bidding. At the end of episode 5 he puts his cloak over Osha in a comforting way. That's something a mother would do.
Only the Disney shills will defend garbage. This is not Star Wars🤣🤣🤣
Great video and breakdown! Thank you !
Really loved Toribin’s orphan Annie wig
Liking the show but the ordering of the episodes I do agree is a bit odd
(also please can we not have a short finale)
flashbacks of Fox airing Firefly in the wrong order
Star Wars fans nowadays smh... imagine how people felt to get hit with 'Episode IV' no context😭
Welcome to the Star Wars experience kid.
@@wizardmoto that makes perfect sense why they be doing it like this
There should be a cameo with Ryan from ScreenCrush and Erik from New Rockstars.
I think he did this with heavy spoilers once during endgame
They should also be fighting one another in a melee or something. Sorry Ryan, but my money is Team Voss. It's not a personal judgement; I just think Erik would be better in a fight.
@seanj3667 you must be joking!
@@owenmadden7577 I am serious. And don’t call me Shirley.
I really appreciate the episode more after the analysis!!
Every time I watch one of your videos I feel so nostalgic with the video store movie background
The episode was so good. It's even better now after all the Easter Eggs.
If they don’t explain how the “twins” aren’t exactly twins before this show is over, I may not sleep for a few months
Probably a detail that should be ignored.
Somehow...
I'm so confused about this because in the show they implied that a vergance was used to split them for ....reasons? But SC seems confident that the not twins are the Vergance
