By the way Rolex has many QC issues as well, they’re not perfect.
I have several and all 3 have very subtle issues so absolutely rolex doesn’t have perfect qc by any stretch

I have Gen and Clean Factory. They're 99% close that most people won't see it. Only watch experts with almost a decade of experience.
@@pomp4401 I have many Rolexes mostly gmt’s, datejusts and a submariners. I have a genuine batgirl and a clean factory batgirl. They even put the real movement in it. (Right calibre not a Rolex one). The weight was the exact same to the gram, it was engraved not just printed, even the date window was the right magnification. Couldn’t tell the difference till you open it up. The clean factories didn’t even have that rattle like most fakes do. I’m not going to buy anymore but they’re crazy accurate

It’s kind of easy to tell at least 3 main things from a real watch and a fake. (This is if you have the actual watch or watches or are educated on the matter.)

On the clasp engraving if you look with a loop on the reps I have seen you can tell it was done with a laser on the genuine it’s totally different than the laser engraving.

There is one specific thing but you need to crack the case back to do it as aesthetically accurate as these watches are the movement is always the dead giveaway and when it comes to Rolex all you need to do is look at the balance of its free sprung it’s legit if it has arms or adjustment levers it’s fake they have not been able to replicate that technology…..yet.

All the things you described cannot be seen a mile away. You actually need it in hour hands to tell. Some replicas are so good, you don’t know if it’s real or fake if someone’s wearing it. Those 300-1000 dollar replicas are almost impossible to tell when it’s on someone’s wrist.

Cap. You cant tell until you open it and observe the movement. Dealers with much more experience are having to open them. The reps are getting to the point that they are making 99% of the watch for 5% of the price. It doesnt make it right, but modern fakes are VERY VERY good

I just got back from Thailand. I own a few Rolexes. (2 from my grandfather, and my fathers one) I’m not a watch guy. I do have a bell&ross phantom that my brother bought me also.
Anyway a friend asked me to go to this watch shop and get him a replica sub marina. It still wasn’t cheap, about 1200USD. Apparently unless you work with Rolexes everyday you can’t tell the difference. It even has the identical movement.
Even when you hold it, it feels real.
