- Google/Fitbit announced today that they will be removing more Fitbit premium features. Challenges, adventures, games, and open community groups will all be removed on March 27th, 2023.

I hear Garmin is better. And it must be if local stores carry them.
I love the challenges, I do workweek hustles every week with friends and have been a faithful Fitbit user for 7 years 😢
This really seems like a calculated move to destroy Fitbit and get users to move to another brand. That can’t be their goal, but how could a business get together and make such a self-destructive decision?! This really boggles the mind.
Google seems to fck up everything they touch. Name a good piece of hardware google makes....times up none all garbage af. They ruined Fitbit

The group and challenges was the only reason I stayed with Fitbit now I have now reason to stay. Open groups was handy with finding friends and not having to have thousands of added people to your friend list. Loved doing the challenges was about to buy a minion one for the trophies for myself I am now so glad I didn't go that route

Honestly , They took the best parts of Fitbit out! I would use challenges, daily challenges everyday. I also very much enjoy getting trophies it was a big motivator for me, and also exciting. I think that Fitbit made the wrong choice to partner up with Google, because they have stripped them out of the best qualities that Fitbit had for their users. Because of this, I will no longer be a Fitbit user. They literally took everything out that I use.
My wife and friends are enraged that they took away the only reason they enjoyed that Fitbit! What crap
I will be scrapping my fitbit March 27th! Love how they want to lose every premium member by downgrading and digressing their capabilities. 👍I guess I'll get a Garmin? 🤔😅

Ewwwww noooo! I didn’t realize the challenges and the fun things with fitbit had been removed until my app just felt super dull all of a sudden. Unfortunately if this is the case I’ll switch fitness watches to something else. I LOVED fitbit the way it was!! Google ruined it

We just bought both my boys Fitbit’s for Christmas so they can do the games and challenges with me. Very disappointing. The challenges actually helped. I can guarantee you that I won’t be switching to a new Google product.

Challenges were the only reason to have a Fitbit over any other step counter. I gifted Fitbits to friends over the years and got so many to use them so we could race. I'll never buy another fitbit again. What an L!
Trophies were a nice touch cause it's a goal that kept me motivated.. but not anymore :(
I completed several ultramarathons with a Fitbit. The daily calorie burn always stopped at 7119. I also never received a badge for the 130,000 steps in a day. Oh yeah, there were also large blocks of time where data was missing, on these high performance days. I don't know why the device is not capable of handling higher performance levels. I am only 65, and still improving my performance levels. I keep hoping one day I can get a free one from a company trying to promote senior fitness. Guess I have to keep working harder.
I use a Garmin for my actual workouts but couldn’t give up my Fitbit due to my Fitbit friends/challenges. I’ve worn both for years. Guess I won’t need to wear two watches anymore. 😢
Same here, I’ve been with Fitbit since 2016. Although I just put the Sense in my pocket during the day and turn on airplane mode to save battery life, I can still get the steps in and have my work week hustles and weekend warrior challenges with my friends. I do prefer the look of Garmin and Apple watches over the Fitbit, but it’s the community that I really liked about the Fitbit. I guess I won’t need to put that in my pocket anymore once they get rid of those features. That’s the only reason why I stayed with Fitbit.
Does Garmin track sleep cycles as well??
@@natashadevries3935 yes. It also has challenges as well. App is much better than the fitbit (I had a Surge, and Charge2).
Some of the decisions google is making are really weird. I don't get why take away current features from an existing echo system now. Like I understand if you're doing an overhaul to the system some things will not be the same. But, why take them away now when you have not even released or shown what the "upgraded" version is going to be like. At least wait till you shown us something to look forward to. This is just bad marketing. Present a new solution before you take away what's already there.

It was a lot more fun when you were in groups to compete for the most steps in a month. Most of my friends have already quit. I have all the badges, so no reason to stay anymore.

This was the reason why I picked Fitbit over Apple or Garmin.
I used both the groups and much more challenges. Not liking the changes that Google is making to fitbit and its devices. I should have expected this from a big company in an acquisition. Also locking features behind a paywall or removing features from the hardware is now seriously motivating me to leave fitbit after more than 10 years of committment.

Same for me, since 2015 with Fitbit. Also looking at Garmin now.
I have had a Garmin and would recommend. Switched to a Fitbit luxe last year and very disappointing... The new app also looks like ass!!! Why change the Fitbit app? It was so much better before... And the Fitbit battery sucks ass!
Once they removed the challenges, I got rid of Fitbit! I loved challenges!
I just closed my Fitbit account after having it for years. The main reason I bought Fitbit was to do challenges. My friends , family and coworkers all irritated over the fact that we can’t do challenges with each other on the app.😢

WoW, missed the email (who does personal email anymore). I am devastated. I had a close group of friends spread out in the USA and beyond and we would do the weekly challenges. I belonged for about 7 years. All gone. I tried to creat a closed group and it doesn’t work. 😢
When I was setting up my Fitbit app on my tablet I accidentally moved my Fitbit account to Google and I would like to undo that and move it back to the to my main account that which is AOL it's not letting me sign into AOL I had to change the password so I can get log into my when I registered but everything's been moved over to Google and I would like to undo that and I don't know how if anyone knows how to do that can you help me

Is buying fitbit still worth it?? my fitbit versa 2 started looping after an update and stopped working
I literally today just bought the charge six for the adventures and challenges that I used to do a couple years ago and now I can’t even do that. Very disappointing probably return it today.
I use the open groups. People post recipes and all kinds of stuff smh. I don’t have premium because I don’t have a Fitbit anymore but I used the app

I am eagerly anticipating the return of open groups by Google/Fitbit in the near future. These groups have been instrumental in engaging countless individuals on the platform. Additionally, it would be wonderful to have gamified challenges and a points system for group members. These features would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience and foster a sense of camaraderie among users.

So they buy Fitbit to destroy it thinking this will leave a positive opinion of their brand and people will buy THEIR watches? I would never touch a Google watch after this experience.
Why in the world would they cancel it the only reason I have two Apple and Fitbit is because of the challenges otherwise I will throw my Fitbit away!
My Fitbit versa 2 was working, down to sleep and active time and now I can't even do that now, Fitbit used to be good now Google frigged with it so you can't use your watch.
All my friends that I had on FitBit are not anymore How can I get them back and miss the Challenges Fit Bit use to have Had more motivation to move
SUBSCRIBED: I just got my new FitBit, I used to have a Charge HR and before that I had the Flex. Both of them had a pretty short battery life, especially the Charge. The Charge's screen became cracked eventually and I think it stopped being waterproof. I gave up on it a few years ago.
I just got an Inspire 2, it was relatively inexpensive, and it's new (my other two were second hand). I think that the disappointment in the FitBit being taken over by Google is a little stultifying but I'm going to see how it's changed from the way it was several years ago to the newer system.
I really make good use of the goals, it reminds me to stay hydrated and to keep up with my steps.

Does this include the ability to possess your Fitbit cuz my Fitbit was acting all wonky
So they made a $200 watch a $40 dollar watch. Ive been busy and decide to charge mine to find out its changed and not for the good😮

I had to buy several fitbits because they broke easily. Now that they have removed all of their best features, I will get a simple pedometer.
They even removed how To stop the Fitbit swimming tracking time from stopping on my GW2 , yesterday i SWAM 900 meters in 23 hrs, the tracking Time does not stop, even after rebooting the watch, my P8P isn't helping either , 900 meters in 23 hrs, you would think that I would have received a notification saying" are you drowning yet" nothing! 😂
I’m thinking about leaving now. That was the whole reason for staying with Fitbit.

Unfortunately I fell for their game by buying a Sense in November 2022, with the idea of using my Deezer membership for offline music. Google/Fitbit never again. I really hope that all their Pixel watches are a failure because of the treatment they gave to those who had trusted and bought a product from which they later removed its functions.

well they just made it even worse again....... as of July 8th 2024 they just removed the PC version Dashboard forcing you now to only be able to use the annoying dashboard on your cell phone.... And I absolutely HATE having see everything on such a tiny screen, for me that is unacceptable! ..... I will no longer be using mine.

I love my fitbit i would never use anything from google you can actually connect your email account to your fitbit app i connected my email to it and also google is connected with fitbit my app for it never deleted cause google is on my fitbit app
