Sig brings a big ol’ trailer to Kittery Trading Post (like 10mins from my house over the border into Maine) every once in a while, and they let you go inside the trailer.....if you don’t get there early there’s a *long* line to wait in.......to shoot their new releases, and a few “top secret” ones to. Next time they do it I’ll see if they take requests. LOL
If you get one, please review one that is still in production. All Sig makes now are the Copperhead (3.5" barrel) and the Pistol Caliber Carbine (16" barrel) variants.
I have the 8 in barrel version and I love it. Runs so smooth and no issues to date. I was lucky and picked it up on sale for a little over 1K without the brace. Money well spent.
I absolutely love my MPX-K and 100% agree with the hideousness of the copperhead! 😂 The recoil design on this is insane and I’ve never shot an arm with as much consistency as this beast!
I own the sig version of the ar15 and love it. It is heavier than other manufacturers, but it's a Sig so it's better built with better stock. Going to have to save up to buy this, but it's a must have.
Was in love with the 4.5 inch keymod until I bought the 8 inch keymod Gen 2 with the new SIG side-folder brace and a Romeo 5 for $1451.00 at Prepper on March 5th. I added a Timney single-stage 3lb straight shoe trigger, and today I got a the new MCX pistol grip for it in the mail from SIG. This is the way the gen 2's should have sold. Shoots like a laser, it even makes me look good.
Yeah I want to take the safety off of the right side but I'm lazy right now. I put a Timney pcc trigger in it. A Surefire mini scout with pressure switch fits perfect on top of the rail. I carry mine in a backpack, it fits great in the laptop pocket.
Wow, that is one sexy pistol! I'd love to get one of these some day, and that group you shoot towards the beginning was insane! Thanks for the drool-fest brother, I'm in love with this puppy!!
I love my MPX Copperhead some much that I got the MPX 8 inch version in fde and the new folding brace. Love the MPX so my Scorpion is getting jealous. Great review as always.
@Shek Jesus If you're used to the manual of arms of an AR, you can appreciate it more. Mechanically the MPX feels better during recoil even though it's 9mm that's because of the gas piston operation. The Scorpion is a blow back design, which advantage is it's easier to break down less parts. The Scorpion is also easier to customize to your taste not to mention the price is better. I'm not the best reviewer in the world but here's my video comparison. czcams.com/video/l707ZiTgbHU/video.html
@Shek Jesus I hear ya, you don't want to add stuff to the firearm. Just a complete package. A friend of mine just bought an AR-9 that takes Glock mags. I shot it and it shoots accurate as my Copperhead and Scorpion. Wish I knew the make. Also price wise it was cheaper too.
@Shek Jesus That debate is getting old I know. The Copperhead and the newest MPX don't come with sights unless it's the competition rifle version. I bought Magpul Mbus Pro flip up sights for both of them. The Copperhead came with two 20 round mags the other MPX came with two 30 round mags. I ordered two extra 30 round mags from Sig they were pricey.

I get it as a fun gun/range toy. But for the same size and weight of these pistol caliber carbine type guns, you can get something chambered in a full power rifle cartridge. So for practical uses, I don't see why you would want something 17" long that weighs over 6 lbs that shoots a sub caliber. If I'm going to use a sub caliber, it's going to be a standard pistol. If I'm going to use something big and heavy, it's going to be chambered a rifle cartridge. But that's just me. Different people like different things.
All the Sigs are surprisingly overweight. I’ve made it my life’s mission to build a better pistol caliber carbine that is: 1. Ruggedly durable. 2. Very accurate out to 100 yards. 3. Highly concealable. 4. Reasonably priced. and 5. Well balanced and light weight. I have purchased several of the best contenders, as well as a few odd duck budget pieces for my study and have begun engineering something I believe will make a lot of PCC fans very happy. It’s main feature is the mag well design, which, for obvious reasons, I cannot talk about before its debut at Shot Show, but it’s been a personal pet peeve of mine with other manufacturers for many years. I can’t wait to get it prototyped and in show goers hands. I WILL say I’m gunning (pun intended) for an msrp under $800 with a whole table load of accessories also reasonably priced to go with it.
I have the TACOPs (4" barrel with flash can, 8" rail, brace, factory BUIS, and three mags) gen 2 version of the MPX and it is solid accurate shooter. Easily modified with AR components. Built to last. Price was not a factor for me. I wanted a more solid feel and heft. The Lancer mags are outstanding. Zenith, PTR, and B&T were some other choices. The HK clones are nice, but old tech. No fun without the fun switch like work. Glad I got the MPX. I've got a Romeo 5XDR on it. The ambi safety is not as bad at the CZ. Great review. Slings help with weight as does working out. :)

Cpt.J Great review. Got my MPX K Tac ops 6 months ago and waiting on Sig SRD9 tax stamp. Have run close to 1000 rds. with various ammo types , it has performed flawlessly. I even mixed Sub and Supersonic loads in mag and rapid fire with no issues. No muzzle rise and very little recoil. Its my favorite truck gun. Pricey, but well worth the price.
If you manage to get your hands on a MPX k at this point I recommend you put a 6" aftermarket hand guard on it. Then get a suppressor so that it only sticks out a extra 2-3". I added a radian raptor ambi charging handle & timney trigger & inforce WMLx (among a few other things) to mine Angled Forgrips are legal, no need to stop at just a handstop
@@Yasmuraz I'm waiting on Sigs new "mod-x 9" to come out. That way, if the accuracy sucks, I can send the whole thing back to Sig and they can't blame shift. The gun shoots quite well with sigs birdcage on it btw.
I have the 8" MPX. The joy of the MPX is almost smooth as silk light recoil due to the short stroke gas piston. Compared to blowback there is a major difference. Worth the price? Very subjective but since I could afford it that's what I got. Get the best you can afford or willing to pay and as long as it works for you that's great!. sweetcostarica like shooting a pistol with 3 points of contact and small enough to hide in a backpack, plus they’re fun to shoot and sexy as hell. I don’t know about you but fun and sexy sounds like a good time.
@@texasghost6725 Oh, I think almost any gun can be fun, sexy, fit in a backpack, etc. The 3 point thing is better done with a rifle caliber than a PCC for powerful one stops & much better distance shooting. But I think we are talking about two different things: I am about using a long arm effectively in a serious way i.e. for self-defense. You Texas G. Seem to be just into the play part of gun use. PCC are "tweeners" - not as good as a pistol "all round" and not as powerful as a rifle. The PCC concept today is just another method of the gun industry to make more money (IMO).
Yes it’s legal if you’re LE, and an illegal. As for law abiding citizens your done . The puppet master Bloomberg made sure his puppet Cuomo put a stop to all this. No threaded barrel. flash suppressor, vertical grip, pistol grip and nothing over 10 rounds. So what part is legal ? Moving out is still legal.
This was $1800 spent with no regrets, I Absolutely love it and anyone who uses it falls in love with it. Yes its pricey, Sig Sauer MSRP 2 years ago was $2050 when I purchased mine from Shoot Straight. Being the mags are expensive I purchased 1 Gen 2 for $70 and 2 Gen 1's for $18 each. Yes I've had a couple fail to feed but not enough to regret trying out the Gen 1's on a Gen 2. It's happened a couple of times when I first got them but I think its used to them now or I just got lucky, definitely a good way to stock up on range mags for only $18, for self defense stick with the Gen 2's to be safe. Buying 6 Gen 2's at $420 is just crazy unless you're using it strictly for home defense. The cool part is it fits in my 1980's leather briefcase at an angle with 4 mags and a Romeo 5 red dot, very incognito and sleek. I have zero regrets and will buy another Sig, probably the MCX. You get a cardboard box and 1 mag with the MPX so you'll need a case too if you don't have one. The old saying you get what you pay for and this is the Rolls Royce of 9mm Carbines in my opinion.
Cool MPX Sig Sauer KS. Thanks for showing it, but i think Sig Sauer wants to much money for what you get out of their products. Another awesome review Sir
Greetings KS! I just purchased the Grand Power Stribog. Awesome 9mm pistol! I put the stock adapter and the SB3 brace on it. Nice!! Any plans for a review on that one? Blessings, Jim
You have yours set up almost exactly like mine. I have a Streamlite TLR on mine. It is my home defense bedside gun. Agree it is a bit heavy but there is almost no recoil and it is super fun to shoot. However, I do have my eye on the CZ Scorpion Evo3 S2. Hard to find right now it seems.
It's an awesome setup for sure. Much as I would like to have one, my Shooting Club has one decked out like the one KS reviewed for $2295 + TAX! For me the Perfect PDW is my PS 90 w/E O Tech 512 Red Dot. 50 Round mags are nothing to ignore and I own a FNH 5.7 pistol. The 5.7 is flatter shooting. If I were to buy another PDW I definitely would buy this one! It's hard to ignore it, who knows it may appear in my collection someday! )
I own a Sig MPK-K second gen. with a Omega 9 suppressor w/binary trigger and it is the ultimate home protection device. With the current political climate and rioting this little 9mm gem shoots 1” groups at 50 yards even with its 4-1/2” barrel and can spit out 30 rounds in about 3 seconds. I sleep better knowing if my door is crashed in, in the middle of the night, no amount of intruders will be leaving.
Looking to pick one up. What setup do you run aside from the binary trigger? Looking for tips. I want to "get good" before going red dot or reflex. Glad you like it man. Stay alert.
@2:38 Glock needs to make one , I'll take mine in 10MM with a 16 " barrel . If the mag is in that spot , the grip needs to also hold an extra mag . I think the mag would be better in the grip to make it more compact , like the CX Storm & UZI .
It's about 3" shorter than a 16" AR with the stock in it's shortest position . The mag in the grip saves length over an AR style mag position . @Shek Jesus
I just got one! :) usually you only see the ar pistol carbines in 223 or ak pistols at gun stores. those r cool but if u ever even shoot it on accident in a confined area without ear protection itll be the last thing u ever hear.
This is probably the most bad ass looking SMG currently on the US civilian market right now. Is $1600 really a lot of money? We commonly spend that on pistols that have a very limited range of use. The MPX definitely looks practical for home defense and down right fun as hell at the range.
Just curious...why do you prefer this over the Copperhead? This is obviously closer to my Gen 2 MPX carbine rifle. Thanks! (Congrats...I just found out you're a regular at CF.)
I brought this gun when it first came out without the brace I paid about 1,300,take it to the range 3 different times and it jammed all the time I was so disappointed I sold it and get the ar15 ,but I think sig was having so problems with so of this guns, hopefully they fixed the problem now but I want to get another now they do look bad ass
Could get 4 Extar EP9's for that pistol price and 2/3-33rd Glock mags for that mag price. You get a 2" longer barrel and ~2 lbs less weight. Simple blow back design, SB brace and a poly lower. It shoots all types ammo. Seems in comparison a softer shooter. Reviews are mostly all good. Not hating, I have several SIG enjoyable products. Surely not the same quality/name, just saying.
I was just about to comment about the Extar. Haha! I would love to see what KS thinks about that gun after reviewing this. Unfortunately, I can't own either... legally.
Of course it's the best damned review on CZcams! Great look into the MPX! I can say it's probably not for me, but it does come with a lot of features and looks cool.
Nothing is overpriced if you can afford it, unless it is for "exactly" the same item. Just like people who make eight or night figure a year wouldn't mind paying 15k+ for a color option on their new Bugatti. It all depends how much disposal income you have.
.223 is not accurate at any decent range with a barrel that short. Build an SBR/AR pistol in 300 BLK with a slightly longer barrel if you want something in this ballpark with rifle rounds ;)
I hate ambi controls on an ar style rifle cause I always have issues with the safety lever and I wear small gloves. Can’t imagine anyone not finding issues with it ever. I only have one this is ambi and I solved that issue by removing the safety level and rotating it about 45* so it’s out of the way. One day I’ll spend $3 and buy the blank but it works lol.. (should add I only rotated the right hand side the left side is still normal.
Not a bad gun but I think the scorpion micro would be better just the fact that I can get 3 magazines for the price of one mpx magazine. I do love my scorpion after all the upgrades I’ve installed on it. Still mpx would still peak my interest to shoot/rent. Good informative video 👍
KSGunGuy I got lucky and found the pistol scorpion and as much as the micro seems better I think I’ll be saving up for suppressor instead of spending $1,300 on another cz scorpion
Another great presentation. Obviously, I'm interested in learning about this gun; which is why I'm here. My question is, for the average citizen, what is the advantage of this, over say, a Glock 34, with 33 round Glock magazines? You've handled a lot of guns, so I'm asking your opinion; not challenging the efficacy of this weapon.
Thank you for the question Trae! I think the advantage is the weight and ability to stabilize it on your shoulder. It will be inherently more accurate at distances utilizing those two things. That said, there’s always room for a G34! Cheers!
My wife and I went to our local range (Point Blank) this past Saturday, and the range worker said that they sold a Sig MPX for $900 (brand new)?! He said that it was there for about 2 years, and in this case, they could not sell it - so they clearenced it. How come I/we never hear about these things until it's too late? :)
Haha! Yeah, there were some choice outtakes this time though many shall never be seen, lol. By the way, a check is in the mail! Thank you and cheers Frank!
Fuuuuuuck! I’m happy for you. I just got a notification that midway has them in stock....$2100 nowadays. Still tempted even though the price tag has doubled
It's July 2020, and with the near nation-wide riots and coronavirus panic, these MPX K's are extremely hard to find, and those available are selling for an average of ~$2,400 - $2,800, and as high as $3,500. Also, 9mm ball ammo is running greater than $0.80 per round, and that's for the few lower quality ammo brands still available.
It's hard out there for a pimp but you can for sure buy these new for MSRP. Sign up for basically every gun website's "notify me when in stock" alerts and be ready to buy when you get the email. Eighty cents a round? Bro, that's what I spend on self defense rounds. How hard are you looking for ball ammo? Here to help my guy 👌
@@hikeskool I run automation scripts from my home server, which goes out and queries ~500 ammo wholesale & retail websites in the U.S., looking for 9mm, .308, .225/5.56, and .22LR. As of this morning, 37 sites reported back an in-stock inventory for at least one of those calibers. Lowest cost of .9mm ball is $0.86/round. Highest is $1.05. (These are the prices as listed on the websites. I manually checked a dozen sites, to verify the prices listed, against the returns of my scripts. The in-stock inventory is highly questionable as the majority of these sites don't show whether the ammo is in stock, until you try to add it to the shopping cart.) I'm looking for a better way, so feel free to make suggestions. Thanks.

@@sweetcostarica Know many people who own PCC's only and they vote pro 2A. Not sure the point of your response except to prove to everybody you are a pompous douchebag. Maybe you need to warm up frosty. I just want to make sure you know that a neutered version of a sub-machine gun doesn't shoot just blanks like a neutered dog.
sweetcostarica like shooting a pistol with 3 points of contact and small enough to hide in a backpack, plus they’re fun to shoot and sexy as hell.
But I think we are talking about two different things:
I am about using a long arm effectively in a serious way i.e. for self-defense. You Texas G. Seem to be just into the play part of gun use.
PCC are "tweeners" - not as good as a pistol "all round" and not as powerful as a rifle.
The PCC concept today is just another method of the gun industry to make more money (IMO).
Looks awesome.
Thank you very much! Cheers!
That is a cool little gun....Good stuff....
I agree Scott! Thank you and cheers!
Welcome to the K family!🇺🇸
Thank you very much! Cheers!
I like my Sig's for sure but the price.... Great review as alway's
I completey understand James! Thank you and cheers!
This is legal in New York , just have to take the pistol grip, mag, suppression, stock off. Oh forgot, I think the barrel is toooo short.
Everything is illegal in NY
This gun is legal in New York. And all guns are legal in New York.
@@Mike-cu6gk They're Mobsters, nothing less.
That's awesome! Thank you and cheers!
@@KSGunGuy01 👍🙂
Does the mpx k come with the adjustable brace like this one in the video or do you have to buy that separate after the initial
Purchase?
@@hurt1704 mine came with it but keep in mind you can get them about 200 cheaper without it but to me it's worth two hundred bucks to have the brace
BIG AL GUN FUN ohh yes. It isn't the same cool factor without the brace. I'd buy with as well. I'm also looking at the mpx k tacops. Tough decision..
The future of concealed carry, imho.
Any suggestions on a similar PDW that would be Marine Grade? I need something that will hold up in a salt water boat environment. Thanks
Oh my God... I just subscribed and shared and hit the notification button... I put this on a college football channel.
Right on George! Thank you and cheers!
Cool MPX Sig Sauer KS. Thanks for showing it, but i think Sig Sauer wants to much money for what you get out of their products. Another awesome review Sir
They are definitely pricey Jerry, but tons of fun to shoot! Thank you and cheers!
Greetings KS!
I just purchased the Grand Power Stribog. Awesome 9mm pistol! I put the stock adapter and the SB3 brace on it. Nice!! Any plans for a review on that one?
Blessings,
Jim
Congrats on the new purchase! No plans as of now but I won’t rule it out. Thank you and cheers brother!
Right on! Thank you and cheers!
Yes please
Nice review! wish I could find something like this that takes glock mags that isn't a blowback action
Nice Assault 👍
It's an awesome setup for sure. Much as I would like to have one, my Shooting Club has one decked out like the one KS reviewed for $2295 + TAX! For me the Perfect PDW is my PS 90 w/E O Tech 512 Red Dot. 50 Round mags are nothing to ignore and I own a FNH 5.7 pistol. The 5.7 is flatter shooting. If I were to buy another PDW I definitely would buy this one! It's hard to ignore it, who knows it may appear in my collection someday! )
That’s awesome C! The PS 90 sounds pretty sweet and I’d love to try a 5.7 at some point. Bucket list, lol. Thank you and cheers brother!
Gorgeous
Thank you very much! Cheers!
The new CZ Scorpion micro vs SIg MPX....I think I would go CZ. More aftermarket support. Better reliability and a lot cheaper.
The Scorpion is awesome for sure! Thank you and cheers!
scorpion more reliable than the mpx?
I have both. I love them both. Never had any problem with either one. I’m glad I didn’t have to choose between the two.
xxfire07 Don’t own both but I agree they are both great. If I had to choose I would go CZ though.
@@xxfire07 ha! Keep your firearms privilege to yourself, buddy. I've had my eye on that CZ for a while. This clinches it.
Great video! Does that exact brace come with the gun? Can you buy it separately? I have the SB brace it has a different design.
That brace does come with the gun if you order it that way. I don’t know if you can buy it separate. Thank you and cheers!
Those are definitely cool little guns. Only complaint is how wide they are! I really want a PCC that’s slim and lightweight
I’d be all over one that was smaller and lighter. That said, this one is quite a shooter! Thank you and cheers Harry!
Just subscribed
Nice Review Brother, There are a lot of great choice PDW’s out there for sure. Outtakes 😂 Carry on
Thank you very much Big J! Cheers brother!
Great lookig gun
Thank you very much! Cheers!
Stay alert.
What does the political climate have to do with anything??

Hey KSGG,
THANKS👍 & CHEERS🍻

My pleasure! Thank you as well and cheers!
@Shek Jesus
@Shek Jesus It's hard to shoot an AR with the stock in the shortest position unless you are point shooting OR a very small person .
Yep handgun VS rifle , I had a 40S&W , I thought it was OK , I sold all my 40's , it went with my SIG P239 ... I really like them both !! @Shek Jesus
I’d be on board if Glock made one! Thank you and cheers Dan!
I just got one! :) usually you only see the ar pistol carbines in 223 or ak pistols at gun stores. those r cool but if u ever even shoot it on accident in a confined area without ear protection itll be the last thing u ever hear.
That's awesome! Thank you and cheers!
The House Division 1
He ready for The Dark Zone
Is this only available for LE and military personnel? Or can civilians purchase it too?
This is probably the most bad ass looking SMG currently on the US civilian market right now. Is $1600 really a lot of money? We commonly spend that on pistols that have a very limited range of use. The MPX definitely looks practical for home defense and down right fun as hell at the range.
Nothing beats a P90
The mpx k looks super sexy. Great review as usual.🙌🏿
If the MPX was a hooker it’d be a super expensive and classy one like Stormy Daniels.
I agree, they are awesome looking! Thank you and cheers!
Valkyrieeeeeee
It kinda looks cute xD
Just curious...why do you prefer this over the Copperhead? This is obviously closer to my Gen 2 MPX carbine rifle. Thanks! (Congrats...I just found out you're a regular at CF.)
Hey Greg. I just don’t like the look of the Copperhead to be honest.
KSGunGuy I can appreciate that. Also, it appears the K offers more options.
That’s unfortunate that you had issues with it but glad you found an AR you like! Thank you and cheers Mike!
Unfortunately, I can't own either... legally.
I hear great things about the Extar. Maybe some day down the road! Thank you and cheers!
I’d love to try one at some point Q!
And I could sell my Rover and buy 2 Tahoe’s. What’s your point?
Love mine but thinking of trying to change the brace
Of course it's the best damned review on CZcams! Great look into the MPX! I can say it's probably not for me, but it does come with a lot of features and looks cool.
Thank you very much Texan! That means a lot brother. I do agree that these things look awesome. Cheers!
Me likey, but me live in the UK so me can't havey, 😖
I don't know crap about guns, but that safety check of the chamber was spot on.
You can seriously learn anything on YT!! Thanks for video!!
Right on! Glad it helped. Thank you and cheers!
The Firearm itself isn’t overpriced but the mags are the deal killer for me. I like to have at least 10 mags.
That would be a chunk of change for 10, without question. Thank you and cheers!
if ur patient and shop, you can find them on sale for $50.00 for 30 round. yes I have 10
Nothing is overpriced if you can afford it, unless it is for "exactly" the same item. Just like people who make eight or night figure a year wouldn't mind paying 15k+ for a color option on their new Bugatti. It all depends how much disposal income you have.
Nice review as always. This gun is too expensive for our budget but not everyones of course. The CZ variants would be closer to what we can afford.
Thank you very much! The Scorpion is awesome and well worth checking out. I enjoyed mine. Cheers!
Ambidextrous but ejection port is only on the right?? So if I aim with my left eye I have hot brass spewing in my face??
i like it i like it a lot :)
I do too! Thank you and cheers!
I’ll take two ak-v instead
Thanks for the video
I thought from the pic it was a 223 round, and thst would've been amazing.
.223 is not accurate at any decent range with a barrel that short. Build an SBR/AR pistol in 300 BLK with a slightly longer barrel if you want something in this ballpark with rifle rounds ;)
That would be the MCX
Jordan Moir Police and military around the world have been using 9 mm PDW’s for more than 50 years, I’m sure there are more than just range toys.
Right on! Thank you and cheers!
My Dream gun.better than all Hk ump
I don't understand the copperhead unless it's main issue is transport
Not a bad gun but I think the scorpion micro would be better just the fact that I can get 3 magazines for the price of one mpx magazine. I do love my scorpion after all the upgrades I’ve installed on it. Still mpx would still peak my interest to shoot/rent. Good informative video 👍
I really want to try the micro but they are impossible to find unfortunately. Thank you and cheers!
KSGunGuy I got lucky and found the pistol scorpion and as much as the micro seems better I think I’ll be saving up for suppressor instead of spending $1,300 on another cz scorpion
Right on! Cans are a ton of fun.
I have NO idea why I would need one of these.....but I’m already trying to decide where to order mine from....
Right on! Thank you and cheers!
for 1800 - damn... I rather buy the 9KT PTR. Loved that gun in Goldeneye
Sweet gun indeed! Thank you and cheers!
Love Sig and the MPX is nice. 2 grand nice though? I personally dont think so.
Cheers!
@@KSGunGuy01, THANKS!
That's a very rare occasion for sure! Thank you and cheers!
Ahhh yes my favorite pdw in bf4
Nice! Thank you and cheers!
What kind of flip up brand sights are on this mpx?
I would totally buy one if in 45
A friend let me shoot this a couple of months ago and I was blown away!!!!
Right on 32! Thank you and cheers!
My MPX is my home defense weapon. I absolutely love it.
Right on! Thank you and cheers!
Scorpion 30 round mags are $20 at my LGS.
That’s awesome! Thank you and cheers!
LOVE those outtakes! I never knew you actually made mistakes. BTW, can I borrow $1600?
Haha! Yeah, there were some choice outtakes this time though many shall never be seen, lol. By the way, a check is in the mail! Thank you and cheers Frank!
I was able to pick one of these up for $1080 plus tax a great deal!
Where did you buy it? Thanks!
If someone wants to pay $3,500 I'll send you a brand new unfired tomorrow
@@westleylarsen195 yeah same, LMAO.
The in-stock inventory is highly questionable as the majority of these sites don't show whether the ammo is in stock, until you try to add it to the shopping cart.)
I'm looking for a better way, so feel free to make suggestions. Thanks.
Would love a comparison to the scorpion! I personally lean towards the scorpion
Sadly, the MPX had to go back home but that would have been a. Great comparison. I do have one coming up with an AR9 if that helps! Thank you and cheers!
