    Hey Doug! I went to a MF dealer (Watts Brothers Tractor in Columbia, MS) a couple weeks ago to get a part for my 231 and got to sit on several different tractors. I LOVE MASSEY FERGUSON. If I remember correctly, the 2604H and the 2605H has some differences. I also sat on the 1735M and 1740M.. LOVED BOTH!

      It's pretty much a modernized 35/135 Massey Ferguson. Built on that Legendary Powertrain.

    Dang, Massey still makes these 2wd ag/utility tractors. Reminds me of my dad's 2005 431 with the 3.3l NA Perkins. Mostly my dad and I put almost 1000 hours on the tractor for the past 18 years. It's been a versatile, retro tractor looking, and fun piece of equipment to operate on a week to week basis like mowing and etc. From the looks of it, the transmission looks almost identical to the 431.
    Though, one thing to keep in mind is the hi/low gear are weak on the non synchro 8 speed 431 trannys which look familiar on this tractor. I'm not sure if they change anything on it. (Probably) Could be just the 431 and unfortunately ours tranny had just gone out😔.
    I like what massey did to this that the 431 doesn't have and really refined it to be a easier tractor to operate/maintain.
    I love these retro looking Massey's!!

      Yes the 2600H series lives off the Legacy of the Massey Ferguson Legacy Models. And available in 2wd or 4wd configurations from 45 to 74 Engine HP. Many updates in have happened over the years to tweak the time proven transmission, hydraulics & rear end. Still runs the Ferguson Hydraulic & 3-Point System.

      Yes the 2604H is much a like the Legendary 135 but with modernized conveniences. Ask Massey Ferguson Customer Service in your region for that answer. I know they sell them in many countries around the world. Each region can choose the products they sell like France has models we don't offer in North America. 3700 Series is not offered here.

C are 2 excellent tractors with their descendants at your home with the 2604 h and 2605 h! Luck !!!]
      I was just using the 3700 Series as example of a product sold in Europe not sold in North America. I do see that not all European Countries offer the 2600H. Turkey shows they offer 2600H series. I would request from AGCO Customer Service of France. They might not realize the market potential. Never hurts to ask. Thanks!

      In 2008 they started offering both Perkins and AGCO Power (SISU Diesel) Engines in 5400 Series Tractors and the Performance, Fuel Efficiency, Lower Emissions and Reliability of the AGCO Power was started to been seen. Also CAT had purchased Perkins when AGOC purchased Massey Ferguson. That relationship went south after CAT ownership change and better performance and less emissions plu better fuel economy from the AGCO Power Engine they owned the switch began.

      Straight Gear Transmission is recommended to come to stop before shifting. Synchronized Transmission have synchronizers in them that allow shifting on the go. The 8x2 Transmission in 2600H is non-synchronized transmission and is recommended to stop before changing speeds or ranges.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  Před 3 lety +1

      Depends on Transmission Design and Synchronizers in the Transmssion. If it does not have Synchronizers the transmission needs to come to a stop. Some Transmission are Fully Synchronized and some are limited Synchronized like 3rd to 4th Gear has Synchronized. The Synchronized can be shifted on the mover.

      TAFE has expanded into the Chinese Market like Massey Ferguson and many other brands and are offering product for the Chinese Farmers too. There are huge benefits for companies that build product in China via reduced tariffs to compete more fairly in China. That is why AGCO built a plant there many years ago. Once they have manufacturing established it alos allow companies to import other products from other manufacturing facilities at reduced or no tariffs. Products from Jackson, Minnesota, Hesston Kansas, Beauvais France and other AGCO facilities are not being imported into China. Global Production in a variety of facilities is very common with just about every brand.
