By the way, the two grandmas in this drama are awesome.
They are the best 🤣🤣🤣
Also have to add I watched this during my second year of University and it made me really glad that I was at uni, doing things that uni students do, instead of being married and living with a house full of in-laws!
Preach! This romance makes me appreciate uni so much more 🤣
Omg I can't believe you reviewed this!!!! I watched this a billion years ago and really enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the older supporting cast and loved watching the FL and ML navigate married life with their mums and grandmas. I found it very heart warming and after they got married, I forgot about the problematic theme.
Interestingly my mum is an old generation Viet where many teachers married their students so she loved this series and the romance. Didn't see an issue with it at all!
Yes! Her interactions with the grandmas are so hilarious, and the older sister-in-law too XD
Omg, this is sooo old school!!! In this day and age the story hasn't aged well, but I do confess watching it as a starry eyed teen in the 2000's without a care. The main lead, Kam Woo Song is a wonderful actor though and I've enjoyed watching him over the years. One of his later 2000's drama, Alone In Love, is among my faves. 🥰
Good to know he did other dramas too, he played his role well in here :D
Teacher-Student story are just Ewwwwww😭😭😭
As you said i cant already stand power imbalance in shifu stories, thats why i will not watch Xiao Zhan new drama😭😭😭
And I will say like you pointed it out here, the female lead is the one who is being proactive and its the case in all shifu stories too!!!
Its a way to completely deresponsibilize the ML irresponsible conduit by saying « Hey how could he resist? »
This is appaling.
Double Ewwww.
Well to be fair, the Shifus in all those Shifu stories suck at keeping their distance😂. They also try to control the FL's life, and a lot of times the FL can't even have a say about her own body. And those dramas make sure the FL has no one to count on EXCEPT the Shifu. In this K-drama at least the girl is left to make her own choices all the way and there's a lot of good influence around her :D
Still, I guess the main question is: is she mature enough to understand her choices?
BZH!!! Thank you for the fan service, QQ! 🤗
I'm curious about this show now... Will look for it! Thank you!
I mean, even Kim Shin waited for Ji Eun-tak until she was ... well...
Okay, I've seen too many other kdramas where women who married early were left or cheated on... well that happened to older women with careers too... okay, it's just problematic 😶
At 3:45 when the subtitles said "a young woman", actually in korean the word he used can be translated into a young woman but they are usually used for teenagers so he did I guess 🤷🏻♀️ tried to draw the line with her, but I'm not korean so I'm not sure if what I said is 100% true
Quippe you are the best 🤣🤣🤣
I still remember this drama, and thought it was problematic the second I saw the relationship, thank you QuippeQuest
Ajumma reaction at 4:38 will never be old tho 😂
@@bapyongukgukguk2352 It's what we live for 🤣
@@quippequest did she drop a box of kimchi tho ?
@@bapyongukgukguk2352 She totally did right there XD
I almost forgot this drama happened 😆😆😆 But btw where can I even find it to rewatch? Solely for the grandmas
Sadly, it's not on any streaming service that I know of. I was lucky enough to be lent DVDs :D
(And yes, the grandmas and sister-in-law totally made this drama😁)
On a side note I loved this actress❤️❤️❤️
So that's basically the korean drama version of Kyoko's backstory (from the manga Maison Ikkoku) 😅
That is so true 🤣🤣🤣
I can ignore it in a historical setting. Along with the slavery and summary executions. But in modern settings it's just wrong. We should know better.
In real life, yes, it should never be encouraged. In fiction, though, I guess it depends on how the characters are written. After all, we viewers are not the ones who put our higher education on the line for this guy, the female lead is 😂
@@quippequest True. It's just too close to reality. Throw in some magic or something to distract me.
Well, you can't deny that kids get crushes on their teachers all the time, so I can't be too hard on the student making eyes on the dude since he is cute and she is hormonal.
The more appropriate thing to say is "Teachers, please *please* don't go chasing skirts that are under your care *and* underage since they're clearly immature, hormonal and *under the age of majority*. The whole thing will get you in jail quicker than light can travel in a second."
Well yes, that part about teachers is already too well understood. I'm pretty sure it's the first thing they talk about in orientations for teachers😂
Some kids, though, need to be reminded that the first teacher they have a crush on is most likely not their destiny XDD
@@quippequest Can't say I disagree about reminding teens that crushes have a high chance of fading as time goes on.
I love the FL in All About Eve, it was a very good K drama too
I loved that drama with Kim So Yeon and Chae Rim was gorgeous in it. The male lead was charismatic and a gentleman
Thanks for the rec. I'll see if I can find it :D
I really can't blame them for the crush😂😂me in my final year and I'm 23 and I actually got a crush on one of my lecturers but I mean like he's around early 30s so😂😂
Right, she's only turning 18 here, it's hard to blame her XDD
2:15 🤣🤣🤣
Where did you find the drama? I’ve been trying to find the end sub version XD
I don't think there's an official subbed version out there, unfortunately, at least not a recent one. I was lucky enough to get ahold of old DVDs :))
Belated but . . .
He's older than 23 ~ Korean men have mandatory military service, which guys usually do by taking a 2-3 year break from classes. Add it all up, and he's more likely 25/26.
Belated respond: thanks for sharing the info, I didn't know about Korean men having mandatory military service. That widens the age gap, which doesn't exactly help the guy's case, but well😂
@@quippequest Oh, it's absolutely creeptastic ~ I can't imagine anything similar being made for Korean TV today
Age is number, so is a jail cell
Exactly.
What are we talking about?
this looks old. i have never seen it.
It's ancient XD
