I got the i5 12500h RTX 4060 16gb ram version for 990$. This is impressive because usually laptops in my country are 140% the price of laptops in the US, and all other laptops in that price range had an RTX 3050
I agree, these desktop folks don't know gaming laptops in general. Both laptop he recommended (MSI and gigabyte shown) are like one of the worst gaming laptops you can buy.
@@OrestisZaxos-ry5zf they come with the worst screen, crap build quality and crap cooling. Also these laptops has a tdp of like 45w-65w which is slow compared to others that are full powered 95w-100w+ just so the cooling can cope. If you're looking for a good budget gaming laptop get something like Lenovo LOQ, Asus TUF
Rtx 3060 is about 10 to 15 percent more powerful, but you will need a full powered 140 watt 3060 for that, whereas rtx 4050 needs only 90-100 watts max, so alot more efficient , plus features like dlss 3 and fg makes 4050 imo a better value
The drawback of this is it has ddr4 ram and the build quality is not quite up to the mark i think you can go with acer predator triton 300se with rtx 3060
Specs is not the only thing what is important when deciding on a laptop. How about quality and accuracy of other peripherals: screen, touchpad. Nowadays laptops struggle from poor enclosure quality too and its to be inspected alongside the way how hinges are attached and how their tension is compensated on the plastic. Don't even get me started on thermals and opportunities to extend ram, hdd... So no, its not a race of better or worse if only comparing cpu, ram and gpu.
The rtx 4050 on the msi laptop you showed is power capped at 40w, so theres's a high chance the gigabyte's 4050 performs much better. Also, a fully powered rtx 3060 performs slightly better than a rtx 4050, and you can find MUCH better deals on those. (If you're willing to let go of nvidia frame generation) Also, for 1k, you can find 4060s (like the other model you showed) and other 8gb vram cards, which you absolutely should. Side note: Stay clear of that msi gf63 thin. Other than the power limit, the build quality and screen suck ass and the hinges often break.
"Specs" don't tell the whole story. Its all about the cooling and the TDP with a gaming laptop. No point to an i7 that turbos until it overheats and then starts lagging. Same with a 4060 that has same cooling package and TDP, it will most likely perform the same as a "lower end" model with same TDP. Real question is: how it will do with an undervolt?
I would say infinix gtbook is the best it has a i9 13rh gen with rtx 4060 and 32 ram , 1 tb ssd but it doesn't have many usb slots or a Ethernet slot but it has type-c charging port and retails for 1100$ definitely one if the best prices
Lets say that the keyboard, touchpad and monitor are worth 200 bucks (even tho they are probably even cheaper), that means that the computer itself is about 800 dollars. 800 dollars for a 6gb 4050? No, thank you
Lmao gf63 is literally the worst gaming laptop you can get quality wise. LITERALLY you cannot make a gaming laptop more garbage than thr gf63. Single fan, power limited to 45w lmao. Performance isn't everything. The keyboard sucks, speakers are tinny, fans are incredibly loud as the cooling is poor as well. You get what you pay for. The Acer Nitro is the better budget option
The problems with inexpensive MSI laptops are that it is bulky and the keyboard has just 1 color light: Red. Most gaming laptops are bulky af, and just doesn't emphasize storage a lot.
