It is a credit to his hard training and god given talent but Hronek is (at least 5v5) a fabulous complimentary piece

Quinn has played over 30 minutes a night in the past and is more than capable of doing that now, but it should be noted that he's only averaging just over 24 minutes a game right now under Tocchet's stewardship. i think that is what keeps him fresher and more effective for every game right now. In the second half of the season when his minutes go up, i think his scoring will come down. Or conversely UP, in which case he will proceed into the hall of fame with Bobby Orr.

Yep, averaging 24 minutes is pretty common in this league for a top 1D or even 2D. Doughty has been doing that for years, Karlsson, and even up and coming defencemen like Dobson.

My only concern is that while playing Hughes and Hronek together has worked out great so far, over time it might expose the Canucks depth, particularly in the top 4. It's like playing McDavid and Draisaitl together. Sure, when it works, it's magic and no one can stop them, but it isn't going to all the time and if when they play top tier teams who have the ability to shut down those 2, then who's providing offence from the back end?

Orr basically started the offensive defenceman, the problem is getting caught in deep, leaving oddman rushes for the other team but their getting so good at it, with others covering, its still a kinda dangerous play

Ummm... 15 of his 31 points have come in the 5 games against San Jose and Edmonton. Dude has been feasting on the dregs of the Western Conference.
Good for him for making the most of the schedule. But, let's not crown him until we see his entire season.

Just to remind people that aren't familiar with the National Hockey League schedule.... it's 82 games long.
we don't declare Norris, Hart, Art Ross....etc, after 19 games.....especially 19 games versus weak opponents.
