Connor McDavid played a fantastic game, boasting 4 points for the 2nd game in a row... Can the Oilers do the unthinkable? Let's break this one down! Panthers fans HAVE to be worried right now..

I cheered so loudly that I blacked out. I was sitting on the floor when Mathew saved it and I jumped up screaming no no no then immediately yes yes yes then I literally say out loud "I'm gonna pass out then just fall into the coffee table. I was fine but it scared my wife and kids. I have really low blood pressure so getting light headed when I get up to quickly is normal but this was a combination of a few things. It will make for a memorable video for years to come.
You can see the fire in McDavid's eyes. What an incredible run!

The third goal by McDavid shows exactly why this series is turning. The oilers bread and butter plays all playoffs long has been their set plays, get it to drai down low for a one timer, move it around and get it to the point for a quick slap shot, or get it to McDavid as he cycles around to the left circle. Only problem is, bobrovsky studied every last page of that playbook, we saw him predicting every move the oilers made in games 1-2, robbing drai everytime he one-timed it from his usual position, and shutting down everything down low. But in game 3 onward the oilers realized they have to switch it up. You’ll see draisaitl barely going for that one timer and now when he does it’s unexpected, and on the third goal tonight McDavid, doing the exact same play he always does only this time bobrovsky is expecting him to lay it high over his shoulder like he usually does from that angle, so he cheats high and mcdavid gets it five hole. It’s a small mistake but it shows that as good as bobrovsky is, he’s still human, the only reason he was performing better than any goalie this season was because he was reading the play, as the oilers got more unpredictable Bob started to crack.

Oilers win I collect 2,800 if Panthers win I collect 2,300 put the bet in January so I was able to hedge my bet with the Oilers.Had Vegas and the panthers to get back to the cup.A shame Vegas players were injured if not they would've pounded these two teams into the ice and won back to back cups.

Wierd stat of the day, Stuart Skinner is 5-8 with an .860 sv% in games 1-3 this year in the playoffs. In games 4-7 that very same goaltender is 9-0 with a .940 sv%??????

As an oilers fan. Seeing them from day one ; struggling to even get the season started, to now.. stanley cup finals with some poise and composure to keep going when people think they are out of contention. It's been a rough year for me, personally. That being said the oilers show that when people think you're down and out, you're still playing for your life, shows the tenacity of a legacy team !!
I'm so damn proud of Edmonton. My son and I leaped off furniture every time they scored! And short handed....incredible. that's true hockey right there. Canadian boys at their best! But , Florida did give a super comeback effort , just a little late.

I've been cheering for the Oilers all season long but holy that Tkachuk play was unreal
Tkachuk and Barkov are the two guys that scare me on that team. Barkov because he's so consistently good in both ends of the ice and Tkachuk because he thrives off emotion, and when he gets a spark of confidence, he just goes to another level. Tkachuk can be discouraged, if you frustrate him, but Barkov just keeps going.
I hate Tkachuk with a white hot intensity... And you're absolutely correct.

I like that we are still in the driver’s seat despite all the excitement of Edmonton fans.
I don’t like that Edmonton seemingly isn’t fazed by statistical impossibilities.
All that said, it would have been a 3-3 game if you take away the shorty; and there would have been no empty net goal because both goalies would’ve been in the net at 3-3.
I know, I know “what ifs”… but eliminate the dumbass mistakes and it’s different.
So if we eliminate that, stay out of the box (I think we have an advantage 5 on 5), and keep Edmonton’s third line off the score sheet, then there’s no reason we shouldn’t win Game 6 or 7.
McDavid will get his regardless, but clean up a couple things that can be cleaned up and Florida can win.
I know Edmonton is all buzzing right now, but they should be a little worried too.
Despite the current narrative of “Edmonton has nothing to lose”, the big silver cup says otherwise, and Florida isn’t in consecutive Stanley Cup Finals because they have no idea how to overcome some adversity or a couple subpar games.
I don’t want to burst any bubbles but every goal Florida scored in the first 3 games was because an Oiler made a mistake. This is real grind em out hockey. Enjoy 6 and 7

Yes, I saw a number of players lose an edge. It was unusual for sure.
It was only Oilers players falling though.
Bad ice conditions are because it's June and Florida. Its a good reason why playoffs should've ended a few weeks ago instead of going until the end of June.
The warmer the weather is outside, the worse the ice conditions are inside. There's been finals where arenas have a bunch of additional dehumidifiers hooked up to help the ice conditions.

the oilers have been proving everyone wrong since the very start of the season so if anyone can do it its them and we all know what happened to bob last year if he starts crapping the bed again this year like last years finals it will be even better for the oilers and im gonna go out and say right now if the oilers win next game and push it to 7 they will win the cup thats so much momentum and confidence every single line will be flying for them and on the other hand the nervousness and the anger from Florida's side for letting the lead slip like that i can see them coming out not playing their best hockey and taking alot of penalties cause of the frustration
It could play out that way, but confidence and frustration go up and down multiple times within a single game, so I'm reluctant to make any predictions.

Cats fan and yeah I'm worried, that being said I've never been comfortable. I feel like it would've been better for us if the series never went 3-0 and the Oilers won the 1st or the 3rd game. 3-0 lead will make you too comfy and complacent no matter what you say. These teams are evenly matched and the Oilers had nothing to lose in game 4 played like that, which is why sweeps are so difficult to finish. I am still optimistic after the great effort from the Panthers last night in the 2nd half of the game, now they just have to play like that for a full 60 minutes and they have a good chance. But this series could go either way. Game 5 was prime entertainment.

Bob's body language and demeanour in the locker before puck drop was textbook piss poor. I called it there & then that he wasn't gonna be on top of his game & bounce back like he's been known too and has done again & again this season. The Oil under KK are resilient AF and given time KK and Staff can find holes in the opponent and switch up tactics to exploit said holes. The Oilers have taken Big Mo back and more importantly have keep on firing pucks and are now getting results as Bob starts to do the Humpy Dumpty and crack.

I only watch Olympics Canada vs Russia, Czech, andd maybe America if it's the finals, and the NHL playoffs if Edmonton is in it doing good... so almost never lol, but goddamn has this ever been a wild ride these last couple games. I had a hard time coming down from the adrenaline rush from game 4's insane performance. Hopefully Edmonton can pull it off, but either way it's been an exciting finals.

And there's over 20 seconds to play. Panthers are going to be in trouble if not every member of that team is dialled up to 11 on Friday night, because you know the Oilers will be.

I honestly feel for Tkachuk. Any other night, in any other game, his insane slide save would have been highlight reel material on its own... but THIS night; in THIS game; his teammate drops the ball and McDavid renders it moot. Poor bastard.
What a great game, highlighting everything awesome about hockey. As a series progresses you get to know your opposition and tendencies the oilers have made some good adjustments in neutral zone play and tweaked thier pairings bold moves that paid off. Florida brought in lomberg whats he gonna do? highstick someone? Oilers speed staring to wear panthers down, all this travel is'nt good for a team that has'nt left their timezone in almost two months. Panthers are looking tired and the oilers are getting going, game 6 gonna be epic! go oilers go!

To anyone who has been watching the Oilers, all year long, what they are in the midst of doing comes as no surprise. It's like the team forgets they are unstoppable when they use their speed, win the puck battles with relentless forechecking / backchecking, and by playing a clean but physical game. They will drop a few games, forcing them to reflect on the recipe for success, and then they're off on another tear for weeks on end.
Florida fan here, 100% not worried.
Panthers certainly are determined to make this as difficult on themselves as possible. Oilers made some adjustments and now it's Florida's turn to make some adjustments of their own.

The Panthers *should* be worried .... VERY worried ! Considering this past season, with a horrible start and some changes behind the bench, when the team has lost 3 games in a row .... they've absolutely thundered back with 5, 8 and *16* straight wins !!! As an Oilers fan, I gotta admit, game 5 was not played as hard as game 4 was .... but they still won. It's not how .... but how *many* !! Oilers will take it home and take a win on home ice ... forcing them to play in Florida on that crappy soft ice .... but they got this !!! The Cup ... is coming home !!
