Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022, June 26, 2022. KD Lekir (1984) may be the oldest and one of the smallest in RIMPAC 2022. Upgraded system in 2011 ... and still kicking beast. Participating in firing live missile during SINKEX 2022. Hit the target accurately and awesome ... some assets just need to be maintained and crew to be well trained. A good weapons, system and crew are more important than the steel itself.

The 2 newly philippines coast guard ships were very well made, the japanese made it, hopefully the next philippine navy ships (corvetes or frigates) will be made by the japanese.

DDGX class, a failure of a destroyer with its main guns being useless.
Zumwalt is not a failure. The main guns will be replaced with hypersonic missiles in 2025. And it’s still a huge stealth ship with 80 VLS cells and huge powerful radars. The US navy canceled the program after producing 3 Zumwalt destroyers due to cost overruns.
And this isn’t WW2, main guns are almost useless in modern naval warfare. They have a range of a dozen Km while modern combat happens from hundreds of Km away. VLS cells are what really matter, main guns do not. So replacing with with hypersonic missiles cells is great
