    Wrong Title. These are the fastest Military Boats in USA. Many Navies around the World have Boats as fast/faster than these. At least some of them would need to be included for your Title to be accurate.

    Had a Detroit style ship, make a speed run in San Diego while I was fishing. He was heading straight at my boat, to the point I got on the ignition and started up, only to see them make a hard turn to starboard into a dead stop, about 100 yards from us. THEY had to be having a good laugh.

    Good morning from Nz. Just found your channel, and love it. I've done some research on the Norfolk Gypsy 20, but can't locate an agent down here. Now approaching my 77th summer, I think that would be my choice of size, for my level of current fitness. I see the Gypsy is spot on as a weekender, but my question would be, is it in your opinion, an OK size for two for that period. Or dare I say it, maybe a week? In a previous life, I originally had a Hartley Golden Cowrie flush deck at nearly 40ft, so a bit of shrinkage with the Gypsy. Btw, never waste a moment when sailing, always have a fishing line over the side. A wise man once said, that.Think it might have been Confucius? 😂 Thank-you for sharing. Until next time all the very best. Cheers from down under.

    Norwegian "Skjold-class Corvette" is faster than Barracuda XSV17 in this video so why isn't that boat in the video?
    Another video were they didn't do research first and ignores the fastest boats.

    • @craigroberson8757
      @craigroberson8757 Před 2 měsíci

      Actually, Skjold "Corvette" has maximum speed of 50-55 kts. and XSV-17 Barracuda has a maximum speed of roughly the same speed of 55-60 kts. The speed difference is nominal at best and dependent whether Waterjet or Surface Drive is used. The Corvette is limited by sea state of 5. Thunder Child was designed with low RCS making more difficult to track and was designed for extremely heavy seas. Sea state of 8-9 as well as being equipped with self righting technology.

      @rtdvdf Entirely possible, the latest information I have after going back and checking my information again had Royal Norwegian Navy with light to medium grade armament. In calm seas, the top speed was 60 knots. I found the Canadian Navy using the Corvette with no to very light armament. Under that configuration, they were able to get 65 knots. Again, that was under calm seas.
      I have no skin in the game. I do know they are using the same Pratt&Whitney power plant.

    1969, HMCS Bras d'Or. Wikipedia: Bras d'Or first flew on 9 April 1969 near Chebucto Head off the entrance to Halifax Harbour. The vessel exhibited extraordinary stability in rough weather, frequently more stable at 40 knots (70 km/h; 50 mph) than a conventional ship at 18 knots (33 km/h; 21 mph). Bras d'Or exceeded 63 knots (117 km/h; 72 mph) on trials, quite possibly making her the fastest warship ever built. It was however, never fitted with equipment for warfare (no weapons or weapons systems) and the title now lies with the Norwegian Skjold-class corvettes that do 60 knots (110 km/h; 70 mph), fully equipped.

Top speed over 120mph. Right after our Coast Guard boarding team wrote them a $2,500 ticket for entering a harbor at unsafe speed and not having the registration numbers displayed that they were given by Fountain powerboats. The nautical mile is longer than a regular mile as it is based on the Earth's coordinates of longitude and latitude, with one nautical mile equal to one minute of latitude. So 100 nautical miles is equal to 115.08 miles in distance Interestingly the converters I find on distance and speed tell me 100 Knots/Hr = 115.0779 MPH

    That's only 46mph no wonder it takes months to go anywhere .you would think we would have a battleship that could do 100mph and aircraft carrier that could go 75knots . we mak speed boats that will flat-out move 120-140 mph. Or better yet we should build a battle ship that is the size of a small town that can carry 50 tthousands of men and high speed pt boats many canyons tomahawk missile 4 blackhock helicopter and 2 nuclear submarines and wepons to stop any tip of attacks against the ship call it the us constitution then build a submarine of the same size that has 5000 men and missile of every size but maket it have a speed of 60 knots . bulid a armada of ships to patrol American seas . Lets face it there are to many bad evil people out there that have a blood lust for war and murder some have no respect for life or peace its called reassured peace . And these people who are pilling in their the ones they better watch and if anyone is not willing to defend our constitution and freedom and plotting agent Americans get them the hell out .
