  • Get 11 Lures For a Penny! bit.ly/JohnSki.... Dark and glow fishing lures really got the job done on this trip. You can get more Salt Strong lures even if you've taken advantage of my previous offers. I've been using the Salt Strong Leprechaun instead of Gulp for Sea Trout (Weakfish) this season and it's been more effective and more durable.

    It’s been 50 years, but some of my best memories are of fishing Peconic Bay with my dad in a rented skiff, With non-stop fluke, weakfish and porgy action.

I’ve search up and down your content several times, but and unable to relocate it. Do you happen to remember the title, so I can find it? Thank you.

    My little brother got into the weekfish on diamond jigs in like, 60ft of water. He also sent me a picture of you and your boat, zipping across the bay. It must be fun to be a celebrity.

  • @JoseSilveira-newhandleforYT

    Killer combination of lures and expertise! I guess the best way to fish is to place the boat just over the schools :-)
    I tried to go that way, a few years back, and I bought an all plastic 7 foot dingy, only to discover that it's not approved for fishing in my country - you can go to sea with it, but can't use it for fishing (should have bought a kayak instead).

      I’ve order from them twice after purchasing the flounder session, and never received any of the softs. I’m glad others got their items but it didn’t work out for me so I chose to no longer deal with them. Salt strong had contacted me to straighten it out and said they’d resend the items but I still never received them. So, meh… it’s no big deal.

    John, just wondering, why the move to cork for the new Skinner spinning rod?

    • @JohnSkinnerFishing
      @JohnSkinnerFishing  Před 2 lety +1

      There are two new rods. One is sort of a spin version of the current jig and bounce rod, and that will have the same grips as the casting version. The other is a light tackle rod and I want to keep the weight down.

    John, I’m looking for next rod/reel setups. My current St Croix seems too stiff when I’m bouncing bucketfuls for fluke. These Tsunamis look faster, but I notice that it is rated 1/4 - 1 oz., and you’re fishing 1.75 and 2.75 oz diamond jigs. Any issues or is rating not applicable? Thank you, Mark

    • @JohnSkinnerFishing

    John, are you using the Tsunami Carbon shield II/Penn Clash II reel combo when you are striped bass fishing? Is the new prototype a lighter version or heavier? Thank you

    • @JohnSkinnerFishing
      @JohnSkinnerFishing  Před 2 lety

      That's the carbon shield 2 M and Tsunami Evict 2000 that I use in Florida. The proto rod has a slower taper so will have a wider weight range than the Carbon Shield. It's 6'2'' and will be good for a lot of light tackle stuff, including snap jigging and tog.

    • @JohnSkinnerFishing

      I often use white/glow gulp for fluke. I bought a Sitex 356 with my first paycheck after college in 1984. It was a paper recorder, but plenty effective for weakfish.
