- On August 31, 2021, TRAINS Magazine sponsored a photo charter on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad featuring Rio Grande Southern #20 from the Colorado Railroad Museum and DRGW 463 dressed up as RGS 455.
The charter sold out quickly, and since we were already there filming a DVD/Blu-ray on the Victorian Iron Horse Roundup (which ended the day before), we were given an extra day off work, allowing us to follow the train as it made its way from Antonito, CO, to Osier, CO, and back. We hiked into some difficult access areas (at up to 9700' elevation!) so as to stay out of the way of runbys and to enjoy the serenity of nature.

Great seeing Engine #20 hauling a line of cars behind it all by itself. A little step into the past. Great footage of this old steamer working again.
Excellent video, love the double header. Not many passengers on the train
I LOVE those K-Class steam locomotives, especially the Mudhens. They're beautiful and fun to watch in action. Nice video. 📽️
I can't believe they put a chime whistle on 463, AND added an automatic bell ringer. She's a great engine and, begging your pardon, she deserves her single note and for a hand-operated bell
Great footage of #20, up from Denver museum, great light and sound was right on, just like I was standing there. Thanks so much for all the hard work 😓👍👍👍‼️‼️‼️
An excellent video!! I thank you for sharing it with us!!!
Very powerful locomotive.
Question, how do they change the numbers on the locomotives?
