    Brilliantly described why I like young-timers with no to basic electronic.
    No one need all that stupid electronic in modern cars and no one use it!
    Apart of that - very very nice car!

      Its hard to cheer up driving a BMW, they have the worst suspension, chassis and run flat tyre combination ever, but i did cheer up when i got out of it and jumped back in my Range Rover

      @BarrieCrampton  Před 4 lety +1

      I think there are enough BMW already in the UK to keep changing hands for many years to come, so i think you are wrong but i would stop selling them

    hi Barrie, really convicted on buying a bmw 520d with about 70-80k miles, do you think there reliable or? Great vids :)

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  Před 3 lety

      yes if you get one with good history they are reliable, we have taken a few in part exchange that had done 200,000 plus and they drove like new!

    i an considering this car but i heard the wheels cost a fortune, there is suspension and eletronic major problems which cost a fortune? I would appreciate an indepth review of the cost of parts, servicing etc

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  Před 5 lety +1

      we only try to buy nice well cared for examples with good service history,we have very few problems with them and if you do the same I am sure one would serve you well

    Superb review Barry. The best I've seen. I need your advice. I've never had a BMW before. I've seen a 520d M sport 2011 with 177,000 miles. The price is in my range and although some of the best cars I've ever owned have been high milers this is higher than any. It has a full service history and genuinely looks like a brand new car. How are they for this mileage? Turbos and gearbox is my main concern. I know the engine will blast triple that mileage without any issue. Thanks buddy

    • @BarrieCrampton
      @BarrieCrampton  Před 5 lety +3

      Be sure to check the service history, if its been well looked after then it should be ok, we have had cars in that have done 250,000 and they drove like new.
      Also check the mot history too, and look how its been treated, drivers who wait till their car has failed before they complete essential maintenance usually means that they’ve not particularly looked after it, also especially the last Mot look for any advisories that may have prompted the previous owner to think of getting rid of it before an impending expensive repair

      Stay away ! If it’s the 529d before 2015 it has n47 engine , plagued with Timing chain issues , mine snapped in my 320d at 60.000, needed a engine rebuild , at 4500 quid , buy a 530d , or a petrol , or if you want a 520d buy a 2015 onwards , it has a new b47 engine which has no timing chain problems , but trust me stay away from any n47 engine .

      Yea man - I get that the "no nonsense honesty from a proper bloke" is the brand but if some one's driving 30 and it's annoying you or a customer is pissing you off because he wants to tell you he's buying a car - just don't put it in the video!
      That said, lots of useful information in here, you just have to work for it.
      Also agree with the other comment about keeping politics out of it.

    I have the exact same car but it’s 2016 and it doesn’t do 62 mpg ...it does about 45-48 if you drive it in eco drive on motorways and flat roads at easy speeds..but still good mileage for a big car,,beautiful machine...
