This is going right onto the wishlist. I loved Front Mission.
Wow. this game has a lot of potential. Mantul Gan!
Wishlisted this because of this video. Looks great and I can't wait to play it.
This is 100% Front Mission with some XCOM. And I am here for it.
If someone straight up told me that this is an actual game from the Front Mission series, I'd 100% believe them.
Yes, once my PC works again, this is going into my Steam Wishlist.
Front Mission 3 is one of those games i sunk pretty much my entire youth into.
And this one looks like directly inspired by it. Heck, could just be an asset swap.
Immediately got Front Mission vibes as well. Front Mission 4 was one of my favorite PS2 games when I was a kid.
I really only watch these in the hopes I hear Splattercat sing Shakira ..... score!
Sold!!!
almost 20 years for another front mission, finally this development is drawing to a finish. super hyped up about it.
OMG i instantly got Front Mission 3 vibes
This looks really good. The fact Mecha are making a comeback makes me really happy to see.
From MW5, to Phantom Brigade, this, Fires of Rubicon and more, I could not be more excited for 2023
Where is the RPG in it, though? The video advertises them in the title but I can see no dialogue options, no moral choices and branching story paths depending on them, no roleplaying your character's, well, character (am I a brooding, cynical Mechwarrior with a golden heart or a happy-go-lucky but uncotrollably violent Mechwarrior etc - you know, the thing that roleplaying is about)
@@robertchmielecki2580 rpg means 2 things nowadays
1. roleplaying
2. Rpg mechanics
In this case it is the latter
@@Azure9577 Is it correct though? Does having some RPG-related elements (that are not even crucial for RPG, as you may play RPG with no rules or stats at all) qualify something as an RPG?
Every game nowadays seems to have an XP based character progression, does it mean every game is an RPG? Or is it a misuse of the term by laymen who don't understand what RPG actually is?
@@robertchmielecki2580 rpg means "roleplaying game".
To answer your question, the first thing I will say is that, RPGs are not the only genre this is happening with.
A game can have light elements of another genre without actually being a game from that genre, that is how innovation in video games have happened
So a game that has light rpg mechanics is not an RPG (ie. Most online multiplayer games with xp systems and Skyrim, an open world action game with light rpg elements)
Fps games were originally called "doom clones" but then they became their own genre and then people started innovating with genre, which is how we ended up with fps games without any shooting mechanics (ie. Portal)
I love the Sniper actually being able to target rather than just firing from far away, thats a welcome change for mech games
i tried the demo and well... it's not just the snipers who you can aim manually, the SMG's and Assault rifle's can aim as well, makes it all the more better if you want to knock out a certain parts rather than hoping that RNG will do you favor
Battle system is definitely Front Mission, but there's a big question about out of battle. Skill systems, mech systems, mission style. Or even how end of battle works. Getting to keep damaged mechs or parts can give motivation to not just blow everyone to pieces. Risk/reward.
Flashback to the pilot-killer build in FM3
Wow! They nailed bringing Front Mission up to current game standards. This is fantastic. Bravo Devs.
The best thing about Front mission 3 was how your pilots had a chance to activate "skills", and you could potentially activate several in a row. You'd randomly get a turn where your shotgun character blasts down a full health enemy into oblivion.
there's Front Mission Borderscape coming out for gambling addicts
Splat, you did good. Thank you for showing us great games that would've been missed.
Love the actual bullets and manual aiming, reminds me of phoenix points active combat system. Got this on my wishlist now.
Front Mission Love. Let's Gooooo! Thank you Splattercat for this find. Don't think I would have stumbled upon this game.
Loved Front Mission. So this has caught my attention. Thanks for the video.
Can't wait for the customizations.
This game is 100% up my alley. CANNOT wait for this to be released in full.
I hope we get skills like in Front Mission 3
When the perfect skill triggered in battle that turned the tide, the rush of power you felt was incredible haha
Yes agreed
Some Valkyerie Chronicles aiming with that sniper rifle and other aimed attacks. Like that switch between moving soldiers on a tactical map and then aiming their shots in first person.
The facing doesn't seem to matter with counterattacks. A mech that gets slapped from behind can spin and return that. I guess it matters with things like armour and the shield. Targeting the generator-backpack also feels like Valkyrie, where all tanks would have a glowing exhaust port on the back to shoot.
What I think creates scale a lot more is to actually have other supporting units around the mechs. There was mech games where little platoons of infantry with rockets, artillery, tanks and helicopters would act in support of the mechs without overwhelming them. Like using a helicopter as spotter or sending your infantry escort to take and hold the terrain.
Had this wishlisted for agggessss. Pretty stoked to see this!
Oh boy, I really hope they do a great job at story crafting along with proper upgrades and different tree's to go into. That Front Mission scratch has been itching for decades.
The art direction is very nice. Love the mech designs. Wishlisted!
Adding the game to my wishlist, and will play the demo later, thanks for recommending this!
Getting a vibe that 'fortunate son' should be playing in the background, loving the game play.
Man a modern Front Mission is exactly what I'd love. I can't wait for this game.
Being a huge Front Mission fan (so excited for those remakes) I have been waiting on Kreigsfront Tactics for what feels like forever! It looks like it is shaping up well and should be enjoyable.
Looks great, it will scratch that itch for sure. will be picking this up.
8:02 the chance to hit is quite literally on top of the enemy!
I love that mech/mecha games seem to be coming back. Thanks for this vid, the game looks really promising so far!
I like that the guns are modelled on actual firearms...just a lot bigger. Gotta say, I'm interested in this one now.
Very much looking forward to this!
This looks fun , love Mech games, Thanks for the video
Cool i liie the look and feel of this one, ''it has the force'' thanks splatt look forward to more.
Some cool looking mechs. Wd like to see some walk and run animations on them.
wow, i always wanted another front mission game. I just happen to see this in my recommendations!
"Bring down the daisy cutter....oh yeah, that got me a little teary eyed" Quote of the game, turning lemons into lemonade right three, LOL
Seems like an interesting game, looking forward to seeing more.
Finally! I've been waiting for more games like Front Mission 3!
Reminds me a lot of front mission, definitely going to be watching this one.
Cool game. 👍🏻😊 Love the sliding
Been waiting for this for so long
Gotta say the music is catchy and awesome
So cool! Seems like the sniper will be my favorite weapon.
Awesome looking game for a Demo. I will go wish list this ASAP!
Instantly grabbed the demo. Can't wait to try it. Looks really cool.
That looks so good, will wishlist it asap
I remember back in the day I had a front mission game but, gave it away to a friend. I didn't really give turn based games the appreciation that I do now. But, this looks awesome.
Been waiting for this one!
Funny how, in spite of being clearly of lower production quality, this game immediately appeals to me more than Phantom Brigade solely on graphics. Phantom brigade looks like shiny teenagers driving new Legos; Kriegsfront looks like Metal gear solid 1 characters piloting proper, gritty mechs. Its all a matter of texture. Especially in a war story, war is dirty.
Obviously we don't know much yet, and the AI looks like it could use a bit more work, but they have my interest. Wish listed.
you had me at Front Mission 3!
Finally a game like Front Mission! This looks great
Great video as always.
I’m pretty impressed with the game design on this one.
Love that the sniper gets to aim, that's a quality of life adjustment I didn't know I was missing in front mission.
This looks really good!
splat reviewing a "big stompy robot" game - oh, hell yeah!
finally, a successor of front mission, we need more mecha turnbased games
I am all over anything Front Mission related. Ty for the review
Thanks for meching it happened! x)
Another banger found by splatty
the sniper aiming is really cool, as is the foreground activity and the ally's moving aside, etc. 100% wishlisted
Looks like it would be an amazing Nintendo switch game, like XCOM or into the breach. Always love Mech games❤
Took a look at this before and it's on my wishlist already, hope I can grab the demo soon
Huge potential, am wishlisting this for sure
in front mission, the smg + 4 x pilot damage 1 was amazing in collecting mechs and mech parts, also wishlisted
Stacking 6 Burst I on shotgun was fun when they combo'd. But I agree Pilot Damage I was the way to go for collecting mechs.
Ah yes .Kill the meat, save the metal.
Front mission is so dope! I love stomping on enemy pilots after popping them outta their mechs!
Lookinf good. Radar locked on!
Damn'it Splat you had me at Big Stompy Mechs, definitely going in the wish list...
Nice looking fight system. It has me curious about the game, but not enough to get excited yet
Oh yeah, another amazing video! 🍻
Lord Jesus thank you for letting the dev make this game
Pretty cool. Looking forward to it. =)
The mech designs remind me of Chrome Hounds on the XBOX 360. I loved that game.
O gosh, the nostalgia from my front mission 3 days...
"W gaming" will forever more be an integral part of my vocabulary
One feature I like is the ability to manually aim the sniper rifle 👍
Splatter mentioned FM3, and I saw a grid with mechs. No further info needed. Pretty sure I'm getting this one
I hope this has the random sk8lls that trigger, I loved those in front mission 3!🥰🙂
Front Mission + Ring of Red = this game
Been waiting for a Ring of Red reference! Thought the same, interesting alternative history choice!
Front Mission looking kinda funky, probably gonna buy it since I want more games like this, but I hope that there's gonna be a good amount of Mech customization.
That Charlie Robot dodge a punch
splattercat : "oh he dodge like a muhammad ali in robot version" 🤣🤣
Very much a PS/PS2 era Front Mission feel, which is very much a good thing. Onto the wishlist it goes!
Splat, you did good.
youtube algorithm coming through, never heard of it but i love tactical strat and am a huge Front mission fanboy. Will have to keep my eye on this one.
I do enjoy the sliding for movement, I forget what game it was, but it was an arcade mech battle game and just sliding around spraying bullets all fast pace was so exciting.
Heavy Gear? Phantom Crash? Those came to mind for me right away. Man, I miss Phantom Crash.
Finally some modern Front Mission 3! Love that! Devs, please add the attack animations with close ups like im FM3 and I am all in
This looks amazing. Don't give me hope XD.
Thanks for the video.
Charlie didn't move, he literally got smacked out of the way by Alpha.
Yeah, this is just Front Mission. I loved that game and always wanted an update to that formula.
The units sidestepping one another is great but then you see the same moving unit phase through the forestry while moving instead of knocking them over
The Camera movement could use some work, I saw alot of overlap with mechs and other, but the mech animations are *chefs kiss* absolute bangers!
Neat looking game. I hope they give players some freedom as you suggested.
Tactics games are stronger then ever. Time to jump into Hecks!!
Snipers seem like a liability? Are you kidding me? That's your BEST unit
Also a large mech carrying a quiver is humorous
that actually looks nice
Looks awesome ngl!
This looks like it has great potential.
splat: "i like my battlefield littered with (debris and corpses), makes it feel more vibrant and alive"?! lol ^^
This looks great. But it makes me think, how badass would a X-com type game with GUNDAMS be!
This looks interesting!
This is exactly like Mytran Wars, i used to love that game
Looks great. I hope it has tanks and ifvs as well.
