- Very few people are able to shake Nepo's Petroff. Magnus Carlsen himself was unable to do it in the World Championship Match 2021. But here comes the 18-year-old Pragg, full of life, full of ideas and full of energy, wanting to blow Nepo off the board. Check out this amazing round 5 game from the FIDE Candidates 2024 with the commentary by IM Sagar Shah.

Pragg has been a bit unlucky and a bit inaccurate, but he’s so close to putting the ball in the net - hopefully just a matter of time.
C'mon Pragg, you can do better than this!
ayo? him being in the candidates at 18 is 3534933 balls in the net already
6:47.. Fabi comes in for a peek-a-boo... Hmm interesting "He says" :)
Gukesh - Solid
Pragg - Fearless
Vidit - 🧘
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still gonna lose at the end
Indian😂😂
@@Jon_Tanjore at least they are in the tournament.... And you're useless
@@Jon_TanjoreHold on, Y'll see very soon.
@@Jon_Tanjore Who hurt u bro 😥
Man Sagar you are the chess ambassador of India!
7:31 anna
This is why Magnus is so good, he knows how to convert those late middle to endgame advantages.
Until Pragna matures to beat that!
Prag should work on game ending, he loses wining matches in end
16:28 nepo offers draw here
7:31 who's watching from behind??
Pam from The Office

Someone please tell me how to go to those chess events which are conducted at Pheonix malls.!???
Sagar sir your commentatory is just amazing .. even a noob like me is able to get great insights in the game 😂
Nice game but Pragg was winning he should invest serious time playing qe5
Last discussion after draw a looking like library talk😂😂😂
Nepo lookin like magnus a bit without beard
Pragg did missed to get a point while revealing fantastic openning preps which will be thoroughly analyzed by his future opponents and used by them as well... To his defence the guy is only 18 after all, even the Magnus became world champion for the first time at the age of 22 so...
16:28 Nepo offers a draw you didnt catch that Sagar.
how does one offer draw in chess match like this? does he say something, some gesture or what?
@@ivans8713 watch at the timestamp, Nepo talks
Nepo in open tournament 🤡
Nepo in candidates 🗿
well played pragg..solid game.
but still a great chance missed by him , he should have converted the advantage he got on his opening prep,,,
missed win...yes. BUT He only wins if he doesn't make a mistake. It only comes because Nepo made the ...23 NC5?? mistake. 23.... Bxh2! is simply a Draw position. So if both don't make mistakes it is draw. You shouldn't rate it as one sided. Both made mistakes
Ian able to spot insane moves but not his table and getting confused is wholesome. Great editing!
Where i can watch online chess matches??
You’re an amazing chess analyst. I love you’re content my dude ❤
OK IT IS CRAZY THAT PRAGG HAS HELD NEPO TO A DRAW WELL DONE PRAGGU
Now this is a real candidates level!
sagar is equally committed like any other chess legends to make this sport popular ....Such a beutiful commentry
17:17 kus pus kus pus kus pus kus pus 😂
Great commentary!
Thanks, Sagar.
Wasn't rook sac on h6 a good move at 10.40 or 10.50
What do the players take in the end? That yellow paper sorta thing.
copy of scoresheet.
The two have the most difficult name to write
Super game
I feel that they follow the most logical plays, they do not look for variants to attack
Why is there a fide flag instaed of the country Nepo from?
Botvinnik repeatedly yelled at a young Garry Kasparov, probably for years, to fully calculate out moves to a definitive conclusion, not to rely on instinct. Unless Pragg has someone with Botvinnik's authority to do the same, he will never make it as a true world championship contender. Everyone misses lines, every game. What is not excusable is not even trying. Pragg didn't try. How many times in one's lifetime will one have a shot at reaching a tie in Candidates with the man who won the last two? Why wouldn't one invest an extra 30 minutes at that moment just to try? It's not trying that in my opinion cannot be fixed without a lot of soul searching and a complete overhaul of how one approaches the game. I have to wonder if some of these young players are being ruined by a fear of failure so they are fearful of trying and possibly failing at the critical moment. You realize Magnus Carlsen at age 15 had the freedom to try a more attacking style, even losing rating points, before deciding by himself to improve his game.
What exactly did Prag do or not do, for you to write this? Genuinely curios.
Do you really have any idea what you are talking about? You are making allegations against a top-notch, exciting young player who gives his very best in every game. Pragg, Gukesh, and Nodirbek belong to a brand of young chess vampires who go for the throat of their opponents every time they get a chance. Magnus is their true inspiration. You would be hard pressed to find players from the past generation who had the same mentality as these with a few worth exceptions (Fisher and Kasparov).
Realy??
What a game! A fought draw
Wow, Pragg was so close to winning this game.
You disturbed Pragg in the beginning, Bro.
Upset about that bishop self-pin. Pragg deserves glory
Why should Pragg win. He only wins if he doesn't make a mistake. It only comes because Nepo made the ...23 NC5?? mistake. 23.... Bxh2! is simply a Draw position. So if both don't make mistakes it is draw. You shouldn't rate it as one sided. Both made mistakes
So much of expectation on pragg. He must take it serious and play game. He must refer and practice more . Sure he will win.
In min9 I not able to calculate that would happen if Be6+...if king takes Rxd6+ Ke7 Re1+ Qxe1 and black is winning...
I like his devel up ment.
Subtitle or explanation is need in 18:28 end
As the match ends in a draw, what will happen? Will the match be played again?
Great vid, Sagar!
10:57 knight takes rook🤔🤔😮😮
Why not knight takes queen?
7:31 what's she looking at?
Great game
8:31 Is it not a free knight for Pragg i.e. bxd7. @SagarShah you missed it in both your videos today!
Yes but he is already piece up so Bxd7 Kg8 and Black is happy!
It's considered against chess etiquette to take a free piece when you're already winning
chess players after the match:
fssshhchfsshhhthschhhs
Both Prag and Vidit lost their advantage….That shows Preparation can take you till a point but you need to play solid all the way..else, at this level, good players can escape..
Whats up wit the camera's quality? feeling like i am watching a game from 1980's
At 10:54, what happens if rook takes on H6?
Why on earth would u do that
Are the discussions not allowed after the game is over?..the arbitrator kept interrupting them..
So much praise in the comments over a draw in a match he should've won.
Why should Pragg win?. He only can win if he doesn't make a mistake. It only comes because Nepo made the ...23 NC5?? mistake. 23.... Bxh2! is simply a Draw position. So if both don't make mistakes it is draw. You shouldn't rate it as one sided. Both made mistakes
Why to disturb player before the match
What is Caruana's role here? Is he an invigilator for an exam for what? lol :P Please someone explain for me, Thanks!
Fabi being a creep LOL love it
Longer the chess more the draws 😑
Commentry with your face visible will be good idea
Hoping for a chess player who cannot whisper 🗿
Pragg is like Virat Kohli of chess while gukesh is ms Dhoni's because if pragg takes sip of water 💦 when he is winning unlike gukesh is emotionless like whether he wins or looses
Pragg nadou, nadou e morreu na praia.

Why you both again and again standing from your chair........i can't understand 😮

prag hrsnya menang knp Queen ga ke hitam terus benteng mkn pion di pojok kanan
Smug Nepo actually got his ass kicked..survived
Acha chalta hu duao meh yaad rakhna
Pragg is lion of india 🇮🇳 ❤
Prag thinks prep can win. But soon as out of prep he blundered. Very weak chess player.
Why nepo is always looking confused.. he is so irritating 🥴
U are out of world, that why
@@GyawaliPrajwal-uk1zh wake up man, you're dreaming
Why they don't use russian flag while nepo plays ???
Because of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, all Russian players now play under the FIDE flag.
Not recognized due to attack on Ukraine. Its why Russian Sergey Karjakin isn't playing, he refused to play under another flag and was suspended by FIDE for 6 months or so
How does Pragg miss Queen to E5!? Such a move keeps the Black King under Pressure. Instead Pragg move His Bishop basically threatening Nothing! But, it gives Nepo. The Knight Move ! Hence, Pragg lost the Initiative. How is the Young Chess Genius's of India are to win Games of such importance if They don't think like the Bobby Fisher's and the Paul Morphy's and the Alekhine's and the Botvininick's and the Tal's if You will when it comes to " End Games!?". Just Saying. Have a good one, 🕊️ Out. Freeman from the States the United States that is.
