It’s guys with good striking defense that are patient that give Izzy problems. We have seen that with Strickland and Jan. Striking defense is not the game of Dricus to say the least. He is however a tank of a man and he could grind out 3 rounds by getting him to the ground for sure. It’s a fun fight that I would love to see honestly.
@@jugo1944 Yeah unlike Strickland, DDP's striking is pretty sloppy and his striking defense, especially his kick defense are not very great. There will be plenty openings for Izzy in this fight unlike the Strickland fight where Sean completely just his kicking game and head strikes down.
It's a very competitive division. Izzy and DDP can beat each other, Strickland and DDP can beat each other, same goes for Khamzat.

Strickland bitching about Izzy getting an immediate rematch against Alex after defending his title a bunch of times and reigning for years and then wanting one himself is just LOL. Especially considering in the Alex fight at least, he almost won the first round by knock out in round 1 and was winning the fight. Yet he is throwing a tantrum and threatening to leave because he didn't get an immediate title shot despite not successfully defending the belt ONCE.

I think Between the 2 Izzy deserves the Title Shot more.
Both are coming of a loss but Izzy hasn't lost to Du Plesis. And while the Du Plesis vs Strickland was Close,Sean getting an Immediate rematch after 0 defenses and an Undeserved title shot is a Bit much. He had a great match against Izzy and dominated him sure,but 1 good fight doesn't get you 2 title Shots. And While Yes Izzy is 1-2 in his last 3 he's 7-3 in his Last 10. And he's still the Guy that KOed Pereira less than a year ago.

I'm not surprised Eugene said that, I was correcting him in saying that the champion has no say in who they get to fight. DDP can fight Izzy or Strickland but he's calling out Izzy. DDP vs Strickland is always an interesting fight because DDP brings on the pressure and forces Strickland to counteract it. They both got damaged because of that dynamic. Strickland didn't deserve to fight Izzy either. Izzy picked him even though Strickland lost to Cannonier and Pereira. It's funny Strickland was like "this belt means nothing you guys". Now suddenly he wants a rematch for the belt or he wants out.
How didn’t he deserve it? He did 2 short notice fights and won them dominantly, and was highly ranked. Izzy is getting it off a loss to Sean, these are not comparable positions.
