Driver involved in fatal Tampines accident charged

- Tampines accident: Muhammad Syafie Ismail has been charged with 4 offences, including 1 charge of dangerous driving causing death, over his involvement in the multi-vehicle accident that killed two people on Apr 22. The 42-year-old was seen walking into court earlier today.

At such speed, recklessness and killed 2 innocent people, he must be sentenced to the maximum punishment
I heard his sentence reduce to 8 months jailed only is that true?

Reckless driving should have heavier punishment. How could such a killer serve a few years, while innocent peoples lose their lifes because of them..not to mention those who are injured and suffering loss of love ones..TERRIBLE..

He was handed 4 charges. The prosecution must ensure he is handed the maximum jail terms for each of the offences. Also ensure that the 4 sentences run consecutively. This is to ensure that those like-minded drivers will know the consequences. 2 to 8 years for dangerous driving is a joke. He should be charged for double murder of two lives.

No difference..... Singapore drivers will still remain the same. Not caring about others lives. Especially the younger generations nowadays.
reckless driving same as reckless use of a weapon....many examples here so how to identify such conduct early and intervene with regulation (speed limiters on vehicle? psychological testing?). Jail time wont ever bring back those innocent souls just going about their day...

It would do more justice to the victims if there was more report on this man--what he did that caused the collision. Driver's license suspended only? He shouldn't even be allowed to take the wheel at all, for as long as he lives. Not even any wheels. The crash looked damn harsh! And people died, damn it!
