The prices are moving in the right direction. I figure in a couple more years we will get the range we want and the price we can afford.

As they say in the Caribbean...."soon come, mon!"
@@kenhoward3512 You forgot prices on goods are up over 30% and going UP UP!
@@garyfranks2586 That's mainly Supply line issues and manufacturing issues due to Covid.

The Kollter ES1 is definitely shaking things up, it's great to see more affordable electric motorcycles!
I love the removable battery option. You can literally stockpile batteries and use them for alternative projects, home backup, and run your bike.
I bought my first ebike 2 years ago. Went for cheap but quality, I got the letric XP and I can say for what I paid 1k it was a steal. For the things I use it for it is amazing. This video makes me excited to see what the future brings. 4 years ago this bike woulda been like 20k. The battery life and power is getting better and better every year. And with the price constantly dropping.
Can't wait for the tech and prices to make it possible to have all my vehicles run off electricity. Have an ebike and hybrid suv, but still have a gas maxi scoot... I'd like a bit more range or just fast charging so I can do a 300 mile trip without it talking all day.
I ended up buying the bike back in January with the dual battery. It does the job for commuting 10+ miles one way. I still have 30% battery life going on standard mode. It’s my first bike and it does the job, but I do want something else with longer range and have a higher speed capability..but I am not there yet. :-)
Have you messed with any of the controller setting?
What the heck only 30% of battery life? 💀 you must of charged it in the cold?
"It's a commuter bike - nothing more." It's good that you emphasized that. $6,000 certainly seems like a bargain for a new bike, but the weak batteries required for that price don't make it a good value for most riders. It would be fun for around-town riding, but higher-speed miles will deplete those batteries quickly.
80% of US workers who live in a metro area commute less than 25 miles. That means this bike can easily get you to work and back, even if you ride exclusively on the highway.
6k wow id just get a car.
@@kuyog7649 6k for a new car?
@@grzegorzziokowski3504 sure not new of course and i have tools so yeah i would get a car.
@@grzegorzziokowski3504 i said A car not new car.
I have a Zero S with a bigger battery. Let me just say you really need the 2nd battery. It won't just double your range, it'll increase power by at least 25%. Most would pay $1k for the power increase alone or the range increase alone. Absolutely essential.
@Josh Josh I’ve ridden plenty of motorcycles (and still own a loud one) and never felt as though anyone can hear me. Maybe in a parking lot but even then I generally feel invisible. I would personally be surprised if noisy exhaust makes a statistically significant difference in accident rates.
@@alwaysplaythegame Studies show that a loud muffler on a motorcycle doesn't really affect the accident rate.
@@artboymoy what if i beep then flip them off before anything happens what are the statistics of crashing then?

Whick battery option did you chose, the single, or the double? Also, have you driven it in the rain? Thanks!
Do yo need a license
@@d.t.frmdablock4312 Yes it requires a motorcycle license.
Same question..in case of sudden unscheduled rain..I would try to avoid riding in rain but if it did how does it hold up?
That is pretty cool. Perfect for ripping around a small city but might be limited in larger centers given the battery range.
55 miles, that’s less than 1 hour of riding. This is STUPID
also its 15 hp
@@billjones5172 which is good enough range for the majority of people unless you live in the middle of nowhere
That's so awesome, I wish I had $6,000 but if I was gonna spend that much, I'd just go w/ a Enduro frames w/ dirt bike rims and run a QS 273 3.5t 20kw capable hub motor so I could pack the frame w/ a huge battery... The good thing is (at least in my state) you can run a pedal kit and if you have head light/brake light/turn signals and a horn you can run it as a moped so you just need the license and you should be fine.
I like it. Really have to see what is happening with Sondors and Niu motorbikes to see which makes more sense.
I always wish "affordable" videos started the sticker price.
The price, $5,995, is in the description.
@@h.d.h my bad I forgot to read the description before watching the video.
This comment wasn't really a knock on the video the this video got to the price pretty quickly.
Micah, thanks for the review. You need to do a 2nd review/ mileage test (35% highway at 65mph and 65% town speeds 25-45mph) for a real world battery vs distance one can expect in mixed use driving.
I would personally buy a used Zero FXS/S over a new Kolter, but I really love this bike and am curious if the Sondors will be similar for $1k or if this bike is nicer in the end.
You deliver, as usual! Thanks
It actually looks pretty sharp too, reminiscent of the Zero FXS.
their website shows a lot of interesting products. prices are moving in the right direction on EV motorcycles. thanks for testing this motorcycle.
The real competition for this is a used Zero FXS or FX with 7.2 kWh or 6.5 kWh, although a used FXS/FX would probably be $2000-$3000 more. I would love to see a comparison video of the ES1 versus a used FXS.
Also, what is the real world range of the Kollter? Without hyper miling and actual acceleration from traffic lights. Or keeping up with slow lane traffic on the highway, not being a moving roadblock.
Used EV's that are past 75% of battery are cheap because replacing the battery costs almost as much as a new vehicle.
Same with battery powered yard tools like lawn mowers and trimmers.
@@fishgutz4272 My 2017 FXS with almost 13,000 miles still has 95% of the original battery capacity.
@@fishgutz4272 That's not true. A new battery for this electric motorcycle is $900, about 20% of the cost.

Micah, this bike is cheaper than a Cab Motorworks Eagle. The Kolter is a great bike for the money. Thank you for putting in the work for this satisfying video!
Thank you for including metric conversions
I'm from Europe and I never heard about the Kolter, though keeping me informed well about electric motorcycles since years. Yes, it' definitly a good offer. What I miss, are conveniant electric cruisers. And until now also el. maxi scooters, but that begins to chance with the BMW CE04 and the SuperSoco CT3. For 2022 I'm gonna ride an electric bike, bigger than 11kW.
its 100% Chinese... in a year throw it away if it does not explode ...
Unless you can find 80 miles downhill, there isn't a prayer that this bike will go that far on 4.6kWh. The dual battery version would be lucky to see 50 miles on flat roads.
Exactly. Unless you wanna do 25 mph everywhere 🤣
That's because this is just an Alibabah electric pedalinf bicycle you can buy for 3 grand a peice. Enduro has been selling one like this for a while now.
Math is simple. Top speed of 75mph /11kW * 4.3kWh = 30miles . So thats how far it really goes
Well played! I'm really liking this for the price, and local!
Constantly charging battery is pain in the ass.
Awesome bike but I can’t wait until you get to review Sondors Metacycle!
About your comment on the sound, I actually LOVE the sound a Harley makes.
Sweet. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for displaying the range in such a simple and right way. I was already worried it would be said "miles per kilowatt" :)
this would be up my alley. I have been struggling with wanting to buy a Tesla because i drive about 30 minutes to work every day then have that same trip back; i know not earth shattering, but at $40 a week in gas it does add up. 95% of the time it is the right vehicle for me, but things like backpacking packing and visiting family in areas that don't have fast chargers means I have to have a second vehicle available and that negates any savings I am trying to keep (upkeep, another insured vehicle, gas etc). This actually looks like it would be an affordable and doable option that would get me back and forth to work. I will have to look into this, thank you for ending up in my feed!
There are much cheaper alternatives if you are just hoping to save money. A used Nissan Leaf or BMW i3 would 'work' for your commute and probably cost around $10k. Clearly not the same thing as a new Tesla though.
It would take so long to break even with such a small commute.
@@paratek_io with today's gas prices that would take me about three years. I honestly don't see gas prices getting all that much better if they do; pre-COVID was approximately $2.5+ /gal in my area. I think I could live with that trade off if we are speaking of the bike.
The Tesla would probably be break even, maybe even more when you toss insurance into the mix; like I said, due to lack of infrastructure and my lifestyle it is that 5% of the time that keeps me from buying one.
Fyi insurance on a Tesla will be much higher than anything else you'd compare it to. Outside of sports cars, insurance is mostly priced relative to initial cost, and Tesla's score even worse than that as repair costs are higher than comparable $50k sedans.
@@IVfluids1 have you heard about electric unicycles? They're cheaper, can travel longer and can take it inside buildings or public transport.
I paid 2k$ for a brand new 3000w version ( the price was 3k in France but I could combine 3 eco bonuses) mine has a chain and can reach 75kph, in a few seconds 9800w peek power) it's a 50cm3 eq, so you don't need a driving licence. I use it for commuting in Paris, which is more than enough speed and can eat any road defects., I bought a second battery for 800$ and I never really need it. I stopped paying gas for more than 1 year now since I charge at work. This vehicle is perfect for me and beats anything in this city. Since there is no driving licence needed, there is no risk of losing it. I can only recommend this bike, too much shaming on EV and chinese bikes, this thing is super reliable, safe and well built. 10km eats 25% battery in sport mode, below 25% speed is limited to 25kph. no CBS on my version but for 2k....it's the price of an electric Mountain bike...
Looking forward to seeing this come to UK
Awesome review but they should really water the grass at night so they don't evaporate right away.
F.S. .................and when the water dries up they well be looking at us !!!!!!!!!
I think they were watering the air…
If it's Florida, I don't know why they're watering the grass at all, plenty of rain there. But by the same logic they won't run out of water there, so not really a problem. At least that's how it feels as someone from Colorado, a semi-arid desert where all the idiots insist on having green lawns, on investing significant effort into an utterly useless crop, one which is frequently harvested and taken straight to the landfill in many cases. I'd still take day watering over that golf course that every night has a sprinkler spraying across the freeway.
Watering lawn at night is a good way to get mold.
Nice one
I need to compare this one with the Sondors, about the drive system, Hub vs belt mid drive.
Not familiar with the Sondors, but in general hub drive is simpler, perhaps cheaper, certainly quieter, and much lower maintenance. But has the disadvantage that it's probably heavier, and has a lot of unsprung mass, which negatively affects handling. Due to that really only a viable option for low-power bikes, as the motor gets heavier it just becomes too problematic.
Looking forward to a review of the new BMW CE-04 electric maxi scooter
for me that would be just enough range for my highest commute days. cool, I´m really interested in watching the e-bike scene in 5 years.
I bought a used Burgman 650 for $3000. Recharging at the pump takes about 90 seconds and I can go 500 miles in a day no problem😁👍
I get it.. I love my gas scooter too.
Those pumps are only at smelly, dirty gas stations. It's much more convenient to recharge every evening at home.
"Used" How old was it? I'm guess a used electric motorcycle that cost $5k would cost $3k in 5 years.
@@ScottOstr 2013 with 5k miles and mint condition. I got a great deal last year and have 17k on it now. All of my bikes are lightly used and I’ve never paid more than 50% of new.
Electric bikes are interesting but just not able to keep up with me 🛵💨
@@opichocal It's early days. I expect the battery tech to keep improving. 🤔 Let's see what 2035 brings 🔋💡
It's nice seeing more options. We need emoto's to have accessible pricing if they're ever going to be more than a niche within a niche in the US.
There are big sacrifices here besides just the power though. With no dealer network and an undoubtedly small community, plus it being produced by a chinese company, servicing your $6-7k moto is going to be difficult if not impossible for some.
While I understand a limited budget doesn't grow out of thin air, for those that can afford another couple grand for an FXS or similar, it will undoubtedly give them far more value and save them money and headache in the long run. In fact, you can find used FXS models for nearly the same price as this, and personally I think that's a far better buy for the price.
The advantage of electrics though is that they shouldn't need much, there's very little to break (at least if it's made right) or need to be maintained on them, all should be very basic. Tires, brake service, drive belt, that's probably about it. Stuff any competent repair shop (or many owners) could handle without manufacturer support, so long as parts are available - and most parts I would guess are sort of universal, such as tires and brake pads. Having worked on a classic VW Beetle for 11 years, becoming familiar with it's thriving enthusiast community and aftermarket parts market, when I got a GZ250 I felt pretty on my own, like you describe. Parts are available, and there are shops that would work on it, but forums are few and far between, and I doubt Suzuki would be much help.
@@quillmaurer6563 General maintenance is a lot less on electric motos, but when something goes wrong you need someone who knows what they're doing, you need specialized parts, and you need good documentation.
7k is a big gamble if you have 0 support if something goes wrong.
@@caramelzappa That is true, and - at least in the US market - these are unproven, we don't know if they have design flaws, weak points, and so on. I'd be less concerned if a lot of people had been riding them for years without problems. In the video it was said that these have been on the market for a while in Europe and Asia, so they might have been well tested there.
@@quillmaurer6563 to me it doesn't matter if they're well proven or not. They could be generally reliable and have less than a 1% failure rate. That's still 1 in 100 customers having a problem. Support is necessary for a vehicle in my book.
@@caramelzappa buy a 3d printer and a kiln create cast parts for the parts you need. electric vehicles are very simple and reliable machines. and honestly not that hard to figure out, if you have basic electrical knowledge. literally all you need is a working battery, and a potentiometer, and a phone to gauge your speed.
They are very impressive for what they are. Lots of power across the entire power band.
Awesome I would love one in rural Alaska
Badass, we need more and more of these, competition drives prices down and pushes innovation.
Though once the Sondors Metacycles ($5500/80mph/80miles) get delivered anything else will be too expense and once Damon Bikes ($20k/200mph/200miles) starts delivering, everything else will be obsolete.
I hope you are correct, but definitely need to temper your expectations. The Metacycle has a continuous power rating of 8kw and a peak power rating of 14.5 kw - resulting in a claimed top speed of 80mph. The ES1 has a peak power rating of 11 kw - resulting in a claimed top speed of 72 mph. However, the ES1 has a 'tested' top speed of 54mph (the speedo was very optimistic) by a motorcycle publication. The Zero FXS has a peak power rating of 34 kw with a claimed continuous top speed of 75 mph and burst top speed of 85 mph. Reports seem to indicate tested numbers matching these claims.
Regardless, looking at the claims of ebikes in comparison to real-world testing - and the fact that Kollter appears to have brought that optimism into the e-motorcycle space, it's hard for me to be confident that the Metacycle will have a chance to actually meet it's claims. They could likely gear it such that it 'could' reach 80mph but it would be very slow down low, likely slower off the line than the ES1. The range is the same story, with the Kollter having a larger battery (4.6kwh) than the metacycle (4kwh) and the same claimed range of 80 miles. Considering the Kollter can likely only meet that range going 25mph continuously, it's going to be incredible impressive if Sondors tops that, especially when they aren't even stating it will have regenerative braking (which you don't need for 'max' range ratings as you don't have to ever stop I guess). The Zero FXS in similar configuration (3.6kwh) has a claimed range of 50 miles and frankly I haven't seen a single tester achieve that (although they don't continuously drive
I would regard this as an absolute minimalist commuting machine for a suburban-dweller, someone with a 20 or so mile highway commute. The lowest-effort, lowest-cost way of getting to work every day. This isn't a toy, it's an appliance. I've been looking for such an appliance ever since I started motorcycling, something more economical even than my GZ250. Unfortunately I think this is a bit out of the family's agreed-upon Christmas budget...
Nice review 👌
Prices will come down to earth as competition ramps up!
Nice bike for a mid-spec electric. I have a question though: Since it's a belt drive, anyone know long the belt lasts in miles? Thank you in advance!
Assuming it doesn't get hit with anything remotely sharp, doesn't get frozen or overheated, and doesn't get bogged in mud or water, it should last as long as a well maintained bike chain a'la 20k+ miles or so. Maybe less as it rubber but at that point a belt is sub-$100 so it's well worth it. Not to mention reinforced belts that can lengthen the life of a belt even further.
-A moped rider, mopeds use belts in their cvt.
I hope they start making more cruiser electric bikes, this kinda gives me hope that maybe ill be able to get an electric bike before 2025.
Riding with your phone in your back pocket? Brave!
I would love to see a head to head against a Zero FXS
Electric motorcycles remain a novelty.
A new Honda Rebel 300 is ~$2.5k cheaper (with dual batteries),manages 15 mph higher top speed, and over 3x the range. Never mind a Hawk 250 for $2k shipped to the door.
Yeah, and a Duke 390 is still cheaper too. Both gas bikes are more than "just a commuter" at that price too. It wouldn't be my first pick to tour on a 300-400 cc bike, but it is possible and I have done it. You just can't tour on a bike that needs charging every 55 highway miles. Heck, with that range you can't visit your friend 1 city away in most of North America.
All theses cheap electric vehicle companies talk about how "most" people "usually" use their vehicles. So then why isn't the average gas tank size only 5 gallons? "most" people "usually" won't need any more range than that! It is almost like we want our vehicles to be able to do more than one thing!!!!
@@hotdrj Electric vehicles make amazing economical and practical sense in certain limited applications, when the specific range needed daily does not vary past what the range of the vehicle is.
Most people don't ride their motorcycle for more than 150-200 miles in a day, and they always stop to talk for an hour or two. That's perfect for a quick charge on the way back. But this doesn't even have fast charging!
Electric cars are wonderful today because 4 wheels can support the massive battery weight more than 2 wheels. Electric cars are surpassing gas cars today, it'll be another 5 or 10 years before electric motorcycles will be ready for the USA. In other countries, electric motorcycles are wonderful. Damn suburbanization screwed up our country and we are paying for it today.
@@h.d.h Vehicles are too darned expensive for "certain limited applications." This is why north americans buy trucks and SUV's. As the 2nd largest expense (after housing) vehicles need to be more than just a one trick pony. I think PHEV's are the current sweet spot... you can drive electric >90% of the time and don't need to buy a 2nd vehicle for those other times. It may only be a few data points, but I don't know anyone with a Tesla that doesn't have (at least) 1 other vehicle. But many people have a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV as their only car (commute, road trip, pull boat, camping, hardware store, etc).
It is hard enough for me to justify having one motorcycle, but if I want an electric motorcycle it seems I would still want the gas one (for now). Also, from an environmental point of view, this new electric motorcycle replaces what, a Honda Grom? Something that is used part-time for good weather short trips and already gets over 100 MPG? You would need 10 or 20 people buying these bikes to have the impact of 1 family switching their SUV from gas to PHEV.
I keep hoping for the "cheap electric motobike" that can truly gas... that is why I watch these videos. But if I want to go slow and have limited range I can already do that on my electric bicycle without the huge price tag or insurance costs.
@@hotdrj A couple points to address:
1. The USA has a greater transportation crisis. We need more alternative transportation methods aside from personal cars. We need buses, trains, bicycles, and pedestrians.
2. One-trick ponies which are excellent at commuting and save serious cash are great. Driving a truck everywhere just to haul a Christmas tree once a year is pretty damn wasteful. Renting a van from Home Depot for those one-off times is a whole lot more sane than buying a damn truck only to waste thousands extra on tires, fuel, insurance, blahblahblah.
3. Correct. Motorcycles in the USA are viewed as pleasure vehicles. They do not fit in the "one trick pony" categories that really save money. In other countries, which didn't build freeways to get to the nearest Walmart, an electric motorcycle is perfectly suitable. Lower top speeds and smaller size makes them fit into the urban landscape much easier.
4. I think the real problem with motorcycles is that they pollute so much. The average motorcycle in the USA pollutes 10 times more per mile than the average car. Thusly, I believe that the gains per vehicle from switching to electric motorcycles is much higher than switching to electric cars.
I'd love to see these specs on a scooter platform, similar to the bmw c-evolution but not in a 600lbs scooter more like a maxi scooter. But bigger than the NIU Nqt

How's it's performance? Is it (US) highway capable? There's a lot of offerings that are the electric equivalent of a 50-150cc scooter or motorcycle, suitable for urban commuting but not capable enough for the longer distance and higher speeds needed by a lot of US suburban-dwelling commuters. Then there's super expensive high-performance electrics. A lot of people (Americans in particular) wish for something like this, maybe the electric equivalent of a 250 - highway capable (marginally), 50-80 mile range, and decent price. This is finally an offering that hits those points.
I was worried my incoming Metacycle was not going to live up to the range and speed estimates. Now that I've seen the competition can do it, my mind is much more at ease. Fingers crossed I've got it before Christmas.
I'm on Run #2 for 1Q22.
I live in Bonita Springs, FL. I just bought a Banshee!
I've had an ES-1X Pro (the "Enduro" version) for a little over a year. It's a fun bike, and it's my primary transportation for running local errands around town. Top speed I've gotten it up to is 65 mph, and that was downhill with a tailwind. Most of my local riding is at 40 to 50 mph, and I have squeezed 42 miles of range out of it and still had 5% battery left. This is with dual batteries, slightly hilly terrain, and me being a heavier rider. If you live on flat terrain or your weight in pounds starts with a "1" instead of a "2", you'll obviously get more range. It's an excellent commuter bike.
This is awesome to hear as I'm very interested in the bike. Just got 2 questions.
1. Is it fine to ride in the rain?
2. Would you recommend the Enduro version over the street version even if I was mainly riding on street?
I kept on expecting kawasaki or Suzuki to make something like this. 5 years later
Kawasaki has a Hybrid bike in the works. The Japanese big 4 are still the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world by far, and in most of Asia smaller electric scooters and bicycles make more sense. They won't make something until it can have more mass market appeal for a reasonable price.
Kawasaki and Suzuki probably have real Engineers who have done the math and know that they aren't commercially viable, unlike EV companies that are simply building a dream.
The commercial realities of EV's simply aren't there and every manufacturer knows it. The only reason they currently exist is to take advantage of billions in taxpayer subsidies being thrown around. Take those away and the whole industry would collapse.
Awesome bike but let’s be real under 100 mile range is a joke
It's a Cheap little commuter, that will save you money 💰 in multiple ways.
Really nice bike. Seems like a great commuter.
Pretty nice! I wonder though, how much to replace the batteries?
Consider this for 6k vs an SV650 that can actually do highway speeds and THEN SOME for the same $$
Affordable at last 👍 and not a ridiculous price .
Still ridiculous. For a couple thousand less you can get a new Honda Rebel 300 which is faster, quicker, and has a longer range.
Thanks for the content :)
Your link to the bike directs to Ride1up Micah 😅
Whoops! That’s fixed. Thanks!
Wow those ranges are ridiculously optimistic, that's what I see on my Zero with 7.2kwh! Sure you have only 11kw power vs my 35kw, so not having all that punch may extend range somewhat, but still I'd say the limit of what you would ride would be 2/3 of what micah just quoted!
Actually “looks” like a motorcycle 👍🏻
Looks like a dirt bike.
So does a bicycle 😂
@@rolandthethompsongunner64 okay, looks cooler than a “bicycle” 😉
I suspect this category (Kollter, Sondors, etc) will end up competing both with e-bicycles AND motorcycles. Which is a tough spot to be in. Need a short range urban commuter? An e-bicycle is easier to park, store, license. Want the flexibility of covering long distances and highways? For now only a motorcycle can cover those uses.
I'm not sure, I can see it going either way. It depends on the city. Some European cities are packed with scooters, and I think this is the perfect alternative, or an equally capable electric scooter of course. Some cities are really good for cyclists, but I think most still aren't, and I am not surprised if in the latter kind, people are too scared to ride a bicycle.
It will definitely be interesting to see how it plays out, but the good thing is there will be something for everyone, and won't be polluting the air with emissions or noise.
It’s a niche market. Range is way to short. It’s more of a toy for people with extra money.
The vast majority of riders will never exceed its range in a ride. And as a run-about, in the US, much of our infrastructure is not built for bicycles, e or otherwise. This lets you carry the gear and get the groceries and commute and eat up the miles without the expense and noise and time wasting of a gas bike.
@@CrissaKentavr tell me you don’t ride motorcycle without telling me you don’t ride a motorcycle hahahaha 😂
@@CrissaKentavr Most of the US is a very spread out place, my commute is 60 miles round trip and that's about average for my area. When I got out joy riding I average probably around 200 miles and most of the people I ride with are the same. This bike is next to useless for most riders in the states.
Sondors Micah? I'm still waiting for my Sondors LX ebike delivery ordered in June. It's now looking like next year for delivery-ugh. Good luck with the Metacycle, although they'll be happy to "take" your order....and they're selling a ton of them.....
Are you going to do a video on the sondors madmods?
“In the budget” what a joke 😂 I could get a brand new R3 for $5K
What's an r3
That’s still a looooong way from affordable. @ $2,500-$3,000 starting price is affordable for what this is.
It would be nice to see a touring model in the near future, with comparable range as many such gas powered bikes. For commuter type vehicles, EVs seem appropriate, but there still seems to be the issue of range/charge time ratios. A gas touring bike can go 300-400 miles and refuel in minutes. An EV seems to take about half or more recharge time for the range they provide. Tech is always improving, so hopefully that problem might improve in the near future as well. There are some promising hybrid models slowly making their way to the market though, but mostly from China or India.
I don't think we'll get that fast charge time until they upgrade the battery technology unfortunately, or change it to something like supercapacitors if some of the research there pans out for cheaper versions to use for storage as well as the braking. I think it's in our future as long as we don't blow ourselves up or devolve into decades of war that steals the resources for other things. I'm really looking forward to it, I just hope we get to see it sooner than later.
What are you guys think this or the zero FXE? It's cheaper but it also has less than half the horsepower 20 mi less range (with 2nt battery) And about 10 mph slower, But a lot cheaper.
The Sondors beats this bike in every way, including a better utilitarian design. For $1,000 less.
Close. But I'll wait a few months for my Metacycle.
And then wait a few more months, and then a few more months. Has Sanders ever met production schedules?
As a company, they have a really big problem with over-promising and under-delivering. The claims they're making simply unrealistic. 80 miles of range on a 4kw pack is impossible unless you ride 20 mph at constant speed, never climbing hills, accelerating from a stop, or using your brakes.
Plus, their quality control and customer support is complete crap .
@@pywaketpilot Haters gonna hate.
Oh, and with Biden's BBB plan, I'll be getting a $1,500 tax credit. On a 5k bike. You should have reserved yours when you could. Ha ha.
@@fredweller1086 And suckers gonna get scammed.
Again, I ask you: has Sonders ever delivered anything on time? It's a simple question.
They are always late, the price is always higher than they said it was going to be, and they never, ever answer their support line. If you buy from them, you are basically on your own if they you have any problems. I've seen it happen to many of their customers.
Yes, fantasies usually beat reality. Same with Sondors. Nothing real here, just a pack of lies and missed promises and fanbois justifying Storm's bad faith.
@@pywaketpilot I am sure all these fanbois lament losing the opportunity to invest in Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos too...
Wow that is pretty good for $6000. I test rode 3 of the zeros and they were great. I don’t want to pay the price they wanted for the zeros. I already have 3 gas powered motorcycles. This will be great for the collection to ride around the city
thats almost worth it. does it have any fast charging accessories? cause if it had that you could turn it into a touring bike almost
Thanks for the review am currently looking for a bike in the plam beach area after I lost my car😩
Can you replace all the body panels with flexible solar panels and have it trickle charge the battery when riding in the sun?
Did you mention anything about the comfort of driving the bike such as seat height pedal or peg positions and handlebar position and or adjustability? You might also add how tall you are if you didn't already.
Good day, I am trying to get an idea of the range at around 30 mile per hour (50KM per hour) in each of the three modes (eco, drive, and sport) Thanks Peter
Great specs and price .mabey make a cruiser type platform one day.but a great bike indeed😁
Basically an electric GZ250. Similar size and capabilities, but baby-cruiser styling.
Micah I’m a new rider. What is your riding gear? What do I need for protection beside a helmet? Thanks!
Looks like they have a brake lever on the left side as well - is it for the rear brake? Is there no foot pedal brake?
If someone who lives in suburban Michigan with an approximate 12 mile commute to work and 5 Mile commute to the nearest State line trail the Enduro kit is definitely the one for me.
Electric sumo would be cool, but the HP figure seems like a bummer. I know electric motors have a different torque curve and typically shaft RPM is lower than an IC engine, but HP is HP at the end of the day.
My ideal electric bike would be 300 mile range or 150 mile range with a battery that would be easy to carry a second one on the back, 30-40 HP+, sumo style, fully adjustable forks and rear, led lighting, configurable torque output (ride modes), and a $10k OTD price tag.
Looks great 👍
Did you have that programmed on super eco setting? The acceleration seemed so slow from a stop for a motorcycle especially electric which suppose to be torque monsters.
Thoughts on an option that seats 2 where 20MPH is plenty? All the bikes I see have a 300lb weight limit. I’m looking more for 400lbs
If not in a rush, what’s the thoughts on this vs preorder on metacycle? Meta definitely has a better look to it but sondors track record is a little iffy
What's the likely price on the 2ne hand market after 15 years? Will the batteries last 15 years? 15 years from now a ninja 250 from the 90's will still be running.
Question just like I question Tesla's can these motorcycles or Tesla's last as long as a gas-powered vehicle or motorcycle we know a Honda motorcycles and like Honda Civics can go extreme amount of Miles I've never heard of an electric vehicle doing extreme amount of miles. Just a question I'm not against electric vehicles I'm just curious if you can have one for 10 or 12 years and it will still be running on the same motor like you can in a gas powered
Electric motors can run constantly for years with little issue, the batteries have been and probably will always be the issue and the most expensive component
Nice video, I have and interest in these bikes. I currently commute on a 2021 Duke 390 and I love it. I always had an interest in electric motorcycles, but they are way overpriced. What do you think the 0-60 times are on both models if you had to guess??
0-60 is at least 10.5 seconds and possibly 12+ seconds, for a motorcycle with just 15 hp and a weight of 275 lbs (plus rider).
Excellent review. Electric motorbikes and e-bicycles could massively reduce the number of cars on city centre roads 👍🔌⚡️
What’s height is best for this bike?
Please review the Super Soco TC Max!
Does it have yearly registration fees?
How hard would it be to make it solar charging friendly?
