I just stumbled across your channel the other day. I am blown away by this snow board! I love all things winter, cold, snowy, icy, etc. Great work. Looking forward to exploring your channel more.
stunning... absolutely stunning. Your attention to detail is amazing. Right down to the icicles in the cave, the colours... just wow!
The end product was beautiful. If I had the space for something like that, I'd jump on it. Your work looks great.
Very cool lakes really like how they came out.
This board just pops for me. Fantastic work as always and really appreciate you doing the whole fly over for perspective ;0)
Looks great and really like the work done on the cave.
best video on snow i have ever seen, awesome
that is an amazing table set keep up the great work.
The complete, laid-out board is exceptional. That's the perfect amount of trees, in my opinion, and I don't know how much care you took to arrange them for the video but it looks great. The hill board that shows up around 8:30 is perhaps my favorite part.
Beautiful board! Well done
You my friend are amazingly talented.
Why it turns yellow over time...and I'm just spit-balling here, but I believe baking soda is a bicarbonite, which means it can oxidize...in a word, "rust." Moisture and heat over time will break down the chemistry in it. If you burn baking soda, what happens? It turns brown, right? Same thing only very slowly and over many many days. Brown is a spectrum extension of yellow. Maybe some kind of spray coating can prevent this..? I've used regular Loctite spray glue to cover a few projects. Not only does it seem to preserve the work, but it gives it a low luster kind of look as well.
Love your videos, mate! Keep up the excellent work 😃
great work, awesome terrain board set to play on :)
Wow wow wow. Seeing the entire board together is awe inspiring. You should do more "fly over" style segments in your other vids. Great work. You really set the bar for wargame terrain IMO
I dunno about everyone else, but I always love seeing that you uploaded a super long video. I enjoy watching them in the morning while I have coffee. Plus my cat must like your voice because she always comes and sits with me when I watch one.
Also, these look really awesome. I hope, for your and the buyer's sake, that the baking soda doesn't yellow. It seems like a pretty big risk for you to take!
As always amazing work.. You could magnetize a piece of plastruct painted black to make the cave look finished.. It would be easy to remove and put in place..
woah. They look awesome!
Well done!
Wonderful! AWESOME! GREAT! More more
I used to always think that a snow board would look boring since the terrain is sort of dead and cold... Wow, was I wrong. this gives me a whole new perspective on snow terrain.
Awesome loved how it all turned out, you know, you should do this for a living!! =P
I love your stuff!
Great stuff
I've noticed that you can make non-yellowing snow by making white flock from very fine sawdust. See local sawmill for that.
Just color it while with industrial color and then crush (it turns prettu coarse once painted) the after-paint product into fine dust. It wont be as fine as baking powder, but it is good for lasting surface.
Tougher too!
Nice tip. I would never have thought of that. :) I've moved onto some new materials, but I haven't had a chance to really use them. I will be doing a review of them sometime in the future.
Great job! :D
Una sola parola....fantastico.
Awesome terrain result! You are a master. Have you done any swamp terrains or videos? Love to see some pics or videos on that.
You have just been promoted to Wizard Lord in my book!
beautifuly amazing
One of your best boards ever , I think.. Maby next time you could set in the discription what sites you used for the models ( like the bones and stuff :) )... Great stuff kutgw
In case you do something like this in the future, I believe adding some salt to the snow mixture will help preserve the baking soda and stop it from going yellow.
You're amazing.
I love this even when I'm not easily impressed by snow boards. I want to carve those rocks as well and paint them red sand dessert like. plenty of imspiration here. keep the tiles dry & out of the sun, i'm afraid the color.will turn yellow eventually. cheers and thanks fot
For the snow on the lake if you spray it and then add the snow while it is drying that might work
That's a good idea. A gentle mist of pva/water should do it. :)
What would a good ratio to make the snow paint?
I didn't catch what he said the black rocks for the cliff faces were made of and how he made the Rick faces of the cliffs look do good. Can anyone help me out in understanding HOW he built them???
When the board is put together like you have it in the latter half of the video, how large is the table? Is it a standard 4" x 6" table for 40K or Warhammer Fantasy?
It actually makes a table that is 50" x 70". Not quite exactly 4' x 6' but close. It results from the size of the boards, which are based on the size of the foam I buy.
How do you keep your tiles from warping over time?
In the weather where I live, MDF is pretty useless for anything that is expected to last.
Also, show us some of your side projects some time.
Michael, doesn't the Polyserene melt when you pour in the resin? How do you seal it?
+Michael R. The resin is an epoxy so it doesn't react with the foam. :)
holy.
Well, now i must research how he did the snow. :D
Wow...
Thanks. :)
Salt is a natural preservative; that's why people used to salt meats before they had refrigerators.
you should take a few of the tail parts out and scetter it a bit, now it looks a little bit to much as one part
Hey,
I like your Google analogy....It is somewhat relative
Awesome work, and is it just me...or do I hear a cat purring.
that skeleton looks to me like some sort of enormous rodent.
Fishers? :p
