      Well...after this video you know less. If you have more than 2 ports connected your phone wont be charged in 4x the amount it did before. 2 ports...about normal. 1 port...then it's a fast charger

  • @flothetech3526
    @flothetech3526 Před 3 lety +8

    The way you have the USB connections are wrong. You have to put a resistant on the two data prongs to make it a fast charger for 5v. If you don't do that your phone will only charge at 350-550 milliamps and not 2 amps as most phones require at least 1.2amps to charge.

    Like! I collected such for myself more than a year ago on 5 ports (power supply unit 5A). Only on usb it is necessary to solder average contacts data + and data-, or to solder resistors (depending on what phone) that the charge current was 1 and more amper, instead of 500 mA as in this case as the phone considers that connected to the personal computer, not to the charging device.

    • @yeltsinandrew343
      @yeltsinandrew343 Před 4 lety +1

      Because it needs a charging protocol charger + and - and TX and RX pins need to be connected to an charging ic if else your phone won't charge if charging it's not charging it's damaging the charge protection and charge ic in your phone which leads to replacement of an ic mostly they won't replace ic instead motherboard needed to be replaced

    What about the USB data pins - if these are left unconnected, most devices will assume it is a very low power supply and either charge at 0.5A, or refuse to charge at all.
    Also most double sided tape & hotmelt glue is far from secure when it comes to mains powered devices (& $1000+ phones)

    • @munehaus
      @munehaus Před 2 lety

      There's no way it can work properly as shown, let alone as a fast charger. At a minimum the data pins need shorting together and last time I checked glue is not a conductor 🙂 Then those buck converters are not the right tool for the job (even in the video you can see the voltages are all over the place and risk frying your device). There's also some pretty major safety fails, for example not even heat shrink covering the mains solder connections meaning one loose wire inside could kill you or your devices (the boards that get hot are held together with hot melt glue FFS which is just stupid and likely to kill someone if it's knocked and comes loose)! Seriously folks, don't try and build something like this, like that. At best it won't work properly, at worst you'll kill someone.

    This is okay for small 5v uses or its kind of okay for features phones not smart phones because those buck converters are not efficient in more than 1 ampere so it's not practically good.

  • @dtwistrewind7361
    @dtwistrewind7361 Před 4 lety +5

    A fast charger can alternate voltage from 5-9v when the device informs it, and it detects it through the data pins on the usb. Your device is incapable of that even if you used the correct quick charge cable, as the voltage is bucked to 5v only. But still nice try and well recorded.

      You are right bro
      I am thinking that thing
      Nice work bro without data pin any phone couldn't take aftre from 10 watt
      And also his voltage and current is not stable
      And also buck converter is lass less efficient than any fast changer

    • @SUMANSHARMA-dg2ks
      @SUMANSHARMA-dg2ks Před 4 lety +9

      He has 6 out put every out give around 7 to 8 watt because of loss in buck converter
      And also his computer power brick / main power supply give 12v at 5 amp = 60 watt at maximum so every usb get 10 watt
      So this is a power supply which have 6 usb ports and give around 9 ~ 8 watt in every socket
      Sorry for the creator but you make a power supply to a useless thing

The more units you connect the less power each unit receives. It quickly becomes an ultra slow charger as you connect devices. Don't fall for this. Research everything you see online

    That's not technically a fast charging box. A typical fast changing USB will initially deliver 5v then speak to the device and then deliver up to 12v.
    My Samsung initially gets 5v then increases the charging voltage to 9v at around 1.4 to 1.7 amps.
    Also a true multiple port USB fast charging station would need one module per port. It's a good concept but would have been good to see the total current delivered with 4 to 6 devices charging.
