    I saw an interview with someone who said when they first started performing together Freddie was concerned about upstaging her ... until he saw her on stage and realized they were both super divas. Also fun to see are the various interviews they did together. You can tell that they truly liked each other on a deeply personal level. (And she was among the few that he told of his AIDS diagnosis.) I love the songs they did together, but I think Ensueño is the most beautiful. A song that Freddie sings throughout in his natural baritone.

      That's very true: Freddie confided in Montsie re his AIDS diagnosis before he even told his bandmates. (He would've told her around 1987-88); he didn't tell his bandmates until 1989.)

    • @bbbfst
      @bbbfst Před 2 lety +4

      @@marciebulsaraorcutt I'm actually skeptical about that 1989 date, even though I know both May and Taylor have said it -- but they are known for their revisionist history when it comes to Freddie. Queen began recording The Miracle album in January 1988, and it is the album where all songs are credited as Queen songs versus credit being given individually. Many years ago, May said they agreed to that after Freddie's diagnosis, so it was before 1989. Plus May talked about the title song -- The Miracle -- being beautiful, particularly with what was happening with Freddie's health. Anyway, like I said, based on comments many years ago, I tend to think he told them in 1987. My .02.

      Brian does contradict himself a lot though.
      He has also said they knew about a year and a half before Freddie died.
      He had been telling people he had liver problems.
      Shared credits was part of Freddies conditions to carry on.
      86 he said he wasn't touring again but would continue recording after a set braje only if they all really wanted to but he wanted everything done differently.
      He only told his sister he was terminal in August 1990 but didn't say with what.

    My favorite song off the Barcelona album!! Musical geniuses!! Freddie & Mike Moran asked Sir Tim Rice (English Lyricist) to write the lyrics for The Golden Boy. In an interview, he commented that Freddie “ran out of lyrics” 😀 Sir Tim Rice stated that Freddie is 👉 The Golden Boy! Freddie & Montsy were able to bridge rock & opera together!! Amazing!!

    Freddie and Mike Moran gave a carte blanche to Sir Time Rice for writing the lyrics. He loved the dramatic music and created a whole story around it. The other song where he collaborated is similarly dramatic (and Freddie maybe used his full vocal range), called The Fallen Priest, you will love it.

    Fue freddy quien buscó a Montserrat Caballe para hacer un disco totalmente distinto. La vio en la ópera cantar y se enamoró de su voz.monserrat fue la mejor cantante de ópera del mundo, española.en 4 días grabaron el disco.se hicieron tan amigos q ella era una d las pocas personas q sabía q tenía sida.confidentes, amigos.se amaban y respetaban.cuando freddy murió Montserrat quedó devastada y le prometió q haría el fantasma de la ópera en su honor y así lo hizo.grandes los dos ahora están juntos

  • @sharonallforloveandpositiv5497

    The lyrics really could be about Freddie's life if you read them. How he "suffered for his art..." etc.... lots more I could quote from this piece. Another great lyric "the prize was knowing that is work was noticed and adored" it really is noticed and adored Freddie. Legend. Freddie's long time friend Peter Straker is behind singing too.... also John Deacon did the bass for this song. They also did Le Japonaise together, a lot sung in Japanese!!!
