I have Red Tobacco. Just an absolutely awesome scent. I give it a score of nine. I live 40 miles outside of Atlanta Ga and im wearing today. 24 Jun2023. I love it that much. Just four sprays. Ill be outside all day, im going to six flags with my children.
Own both fragrances. Wasn’t sure how the lavender in black gold would play out but it’s a great composition. Red Tobacco is by far my favorite. I own several Mancera fragrances but this one I can’t get enough of. With only a couple sprays needed per wearing this will last forever.
I hit up the Beverly Hills Perfumery for Mancera red tobacco, Black vanilla and Pink Prestigium ,I love red tobacco but Black vanilla got me so many compliments I didn't even rock the others my Wife loves red tobacco. And those guy's at Beverly Hills shipping is absolutely insane . Great review Max Forti. Keep them coming

I do own black gold and it’s a stellar scent from the house.
I've tried black gold and I find it to be a great office scent.

I love this underrated and hard to find house of Mancera. Personally I like the Black Vanilla and Cafe Rose. I see Montale and Mancera as two different houses being that I love my bolder fragrances too.

6 is perfect you just have to time it to let it dry down for about 45-60 mins to settle and develop. Just like Sicily
I can’t stand the first 30-45 mins with that medicinal jasmine scent but then it disappears and the dry down is tropical exotic.

I haven't tried either one, but both are on my to try list. I have a boodle of Mancera frags and love this house, my favorite niche. Moreover, I love how they have diversified their lineup (not just the heavy-hitting spicy rose-oud scents, so Mancera is going to be my only fragrance purchases in 2018. True! Enjoyed.

Own both of them and i just can't get enough of them, they are simple great and last over 10 hour on skin and in the clothes, be really carefull, you can wash you r clothes and the fragrances are be there still
Great review Max. I own both these fragrances and have posted my initial thoughts on Fragrantica. I'm still testing these, trying to figure out how many sprays (for Manceras and definitely Montales, less is sometimes more for those around you!). At this point, I think I prefer Black Gold. I agree - Black Gold is better suited to cold weather despite the citrus opening. A very nice and pleasant scent with muted oud (which is how I like my ouds). I like Red Tobacco. My wife did not! Like your experience with Black Gold, I put on too many sprays and choked out my wife! I'm going with 1-2 sprays of this scent. I love tobacco scents and Red Tobacco certainly has a big dose of tobacco. The opening is pretty harsh, and requires at least 30-45 minutes of drydown time.
Thanks for your review on these two fragrances. I'm impressed with what Mancera is coming out with these days. More mass appealing than the Montales.

Great review Max Forti! I have a few Mancera scents like Choco Violet, Roses & Chocolate, Aoud Black Candy and Wave Musk. Also Wild Candy is traveling to me.
If you like bright and fresh, natural smelling LOOOOOOONG lasting green-aquatic fragrances, I highly recommend you to try Wave Musk - stunning summer-spring scent!

I've been looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Black Gold, which I've owned for a couple of months now.
In my opinion, this has nothing to do with leather.
It's fresh, floral, woody and spicy.
It's also a compliment MONSTER.
I apologize but I think your overspray incident with you wife might lead some to believe that this might make others nauseous.
I've been wearing this for weeks and I've NEVER, in recent memory, received compliments like I have with this one.
Please give this a few more wearings Max.

I have both! I am a big fan of Mancera. Unfortunately, with Red Tobacco, I find it to be too sweet. I feel as if I am swelling a wet, cherry tobacco that would be used in a hooka to smoke.

I more lavender than anything. I dont get the woody leathery dry down on black gold
I am not a huge fan of Glack Gold. But I do like Red Tobacco and Instant Crush.

my name is Patrick Richmond based in Paris. After watching series of your reviews on Mancera, i decided to go check them out earlier today with my wife in Paris. I most confess that this brand is so unique. I tried out quite a few of their products but my favorite are below based on ranking :
1 - Red Tobacco
2 - Aoud Vanilla
3 - Aoud Café
4 - Amber Rose
5 - Cedrat Boisé.
Overall they are just perfectly blended and the savoir-faire behind each fragrance is so authentic.
Also i had a great chat with one of the top management at the boutique and mentioned your reviews on brands hopefully they reach out to you.
I am very admirative of what you and the other guys are doing in the States and i have been building a strong passion for fragrances for a couple of years now. I believe it's something i want to get into and share my combined passion for spirits x fragrances with folks here in France.
So any tips you are able to share with me would be very much appreciated.

Hard to past black vanilla
I tried red tobacco and at first it’s strong but dissipates quickly. Probably reformulated I read on yt that this and instant crush are reformulated. The fragrance world keeps on getting worse and worse
When the reformulation happened?
I bought instant crush a month ago, and its overbearingly powerful, bs
I have tried to reach out to Allen on facebook group twice and he hasnt replied once. Apparently he doesnt care to do business.
black gold does not last as long as this video claims compared to other manceras. they may have reformulated it.
You quite possibly could be experiencing olfactory fatigue, or some notes in the fragrance don't play well with your skin. There are so many factors that can affect a fragrances performance, including reformulation, but that conclusion should be the last step after trying other ways of making it last a while on your skin. Calling it reformulated right from the start is honestly the wrong way to go
Received a sample of Red Tobacco, don't like it and I almost did a blind purchase. Smells very synthetic, first hour is most nauseous imho.
Black Gold is good, easy on the trigger.
