If you don't want to get married, apart from a last will, you should consider getting a living will that states your wishes about medical care. If you're sick, at a hospital, unable to make decisions for youself and you want Christoffer to be able to made them for you, you should get the bureaucratic procedure done. I worked at a law firm and saw people feeling helpless and frustrated because they were kicked out of the hospital by their partners' families, even if they were in good terms before, they didn't agree on the treatment or next step and the family took control. Having your documents in order saves you lot of drama later.
You should do that whether married, living together or single
@@Joferry2000 Yes, it's better if you do it. As I've said, it saves a lot of drama. But if you trust your partner and know that they'll respect your wishes, you can leave the decions in their hands after discussing the matter with them.
@@lorenap.f9185 a will is always best, especially if you own property. In Canada if you don’t have a will the government holds it and then it becomes a big headache for family.
My brother died, he knew he was dying but still had no will. One thing that stood out was he was a writer and poet but now who owns the rights to his work. All kinds of things to consider
I know we have similar in Oz but is that relevant in Scandinavia? Different countries different laws, maybe.

As a lawyer I really do recommend a will and especially depending on where you live a medical power of attorney. It can make decisions later go faster and smoother when you are already faced with an incredibly stressful situation.
Financial power of attorney as well. At least in USA you need both types.

Talking about Grim’s demise is making me cry. I have lost several dogs and have had them cremated and I have their ashes at home.
I just helped my boy Marvelous Marvin cross the Rainbow Bridge. I have his ashes here on my desk. I still see him. I miss him so much.
My cats are still with me too.

This is the great thing about CZcams it shows us that no matter where we live or how we live we are more alike than different.
The thing I really appreciate about Christoffer is that he never tries to „steal the show“. What I mean by that is that he supports you with everything you do but doesn‘t try to get all the attention or make it all about him like I see with other couples on CZcams. Theres even partners that act like its their business and get into the spotlight when really they did not do jack shit hahah

In the US,we also say workshop. Shop is just stort for it. If it's a place for shopping, we call it a store.
Yes in the UK we would call a place where you repair things etc a workshop or if you’re doing a craft like knife making it could be a studio.

Christoffer is a bloody saint. When you're cooped up in a cabin 24/7 all winter with someone who can't stop talking whos on a diet of Monster Energy & coffee then thats a recipe for insane cabin fever. He's a stoic star.

Landed on the island today for my Svalbard visit. I can't wait to take in all the tradition and beauty Langyearbyen has to offer!
Good answers on the dog. Our pooch Stella died recently. 15 years old. Lived a great life. We miss her of course. And she is buried in our olive field but with a walnut tree on her grave. She loved walnuts. Great video today. You guys are the best.

I wish the schools in America would start teaching kids a different lauange starting in Kindergarten
They used to. I learned German in early grade school. The teacher brought in a TV and Frau Oplish taught us all at once.
Do you know how many people would have an up roar about that?
You can find public charter (or magnet, depending where you live) schools that do this. My neighbor’s kids attended a dual-language public school that focused on Mandarin beginning in pre-kindergarten, for example.
I work in a French Immersion public school. Kids start learning French in Pre-K
My granddaughter is in kindergarten and here (in Arizona) they usually start learning Spanish. Some kids in other schools around here learn Mandarin. In my daughter’s school it was Spanish and sign language.

I'm commenting before I've even watched the whole video. Kristoffer was so quiet in the beginning of our introduction to him in Cecilia's videos, that I couldn't get a read, and then he did something (I can't remember what it was), that made me howl with laughter. At that moment, I knew he was funny, and I get that that is Cecilia's favorite quality about him. 😍

So happy Christoffer finally got a work shop. Who knows what he will do next. Viking knives are time consuming but will be worth the cost if he decides to sell. Where else can you get a handmade knife of that quality and made in Svalbard at the north pole. Unique.
Hope this helps but the storage/shop that you’re talking about would be called a workshop! That would make the most sense when explaining where Christoffer will work. 😊
My husband and I didn't have a wedding. No proposal, etc. But after my grandmother was in the hospital and they refused to let my partner through to visit her because he wasn't legally family, we decided to get married.
I feel that (perhaps it's UK only) but we're taken more seriously as a couple being married.
I don't understand weddings and all that side of marriage though.
Same in US we did same as you but one thing we didn’t do was a living will..and my hubby got sick and I was not able to take him off life support even though we were married…talk about what you want in these types of situations and go to a lawyer and get your ducks in a road..😢
I hate all the fuss. I got married 1969 and only wanted witnesses. No white dress. Ended with 16 guests and two witnesses due to family pressure. My oldest daughter had a huge wedding and very expensive dress. I hated it all. My youngest daughter got married during lockdown so limited to 20 people. I hated it.I did not get engaged . Waste of money.

I loved hearing Christoffer’s approach to knife making- how you have to take a day to think and then sleep on it…. That’s how I’ve approached many sewing projects!
I’m training for a half marathon this year. Knowing the training that I do, idk how you did one without training. That is insane and I can only imagine the feeling afterward.
I got married to my husband at the courthouse with no wedding. It was very low key and something special between just us.

One option for the half marathon to help keep your legs from dying in the last miles is to try run/walk intervals. I've used them in full marathons (26.2 miles or 42.1 km) where I was undertrained and it helped push the pain point much later in the race, without actually slowing my overall time that much. Try 5 min run/ 1 min walk and see how that feels (but you could really do whatever). You're pretty fit overall I think, so doing that could help a lot. It does take some discipline, especially early when you feel so energized.
