Das Werk in Bremen ist der größte private Arbeitgeber der Hansestadt und - nach Stückzahlen - das größte Produktionswerk im Daimler-Verbund.[9] Es befindet sich im östlichen Bremer Stadtteil Sebaldsbrück. Der Standort war ab 1938 von Borgward als Stammwerk gebaut worden und wurde nach dem Konkurs von Borgward von Hanomag für den Bau von leichten Lkw und Baumaschinen übernommen. Daimler-Benz beteiligte sich 1969 an Hanomag-Henschel und übernahm den Fahrzeugbau von Hanomag-Henschel wenig später ganz, wodurch das Werk in den Daimler-Benz-Konzern integriert wurde. Anfangs wurden dort der Harburger Transporter und der Nachfolger Mercedes-Benz T 1 gebaut, später das T-Modell des W 123.
Die Mercedes-AMG GmbH, auch einfach nur AMG genannt, ist eine Tochtergesellschaft der Mercedes-Benz AG und zuständig für die Hochleistungsfahrzeuge des Konzerns. Der Firmensitz von Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach liegt ca. 20 km vom Hauptsitz der Mercedes-Benz AG in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim entfernt.
Hans Werner Aufrecht und Erhard Melcher gründeten die Firma AMG am 1. Juni 1967. Der dritte Buchstabe der Firmenbezeichnung steht für Großaspach, den ursprünglichen Firmensitz am Geburtsort Aufrechts. Mercedes-AMG entwickelt zusammen mit Mercedes-Benz Gesamtfahrzeugkonzepte im Hochleistungsbereich und ist ein Mercedes-Benz-Original-Equipment-Manufacturer (OEM). Der Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG ist das erste Fahrzeug, das 2010 serienunabhängig und komplett in Affalterbach nach einer 36-monatigen Entwicklungszeit auf den Markt gebracht wurde. Am 9. September 2014 wurde unter dem Namen Mercedes-AMG GT die zweite Eigenentwicklung aus Affalterbach vorgestellt. Dieser löst seinen Vorgänger, den SLS AMG, ab.
In Affalterbach werden außerdem die in der Serie leistungsstärksten Motoren von Mercedes-Benz entwickelt und in Handarbeit überwiegend in der Motoren-Manufaktur zusammengebaut - jeder Motor von einem einzelnen Mechaniker nach dem Prinzip „ein Mann - ein Motor“. Im letzten Arbeitsschritt wird die Plakette mit der Unterschrift des Mechanikers angebracht. Die Motoren werden an die jeweiligen Mercedes-Benz-Werke wie Sindelfingen oder Bremen geliefert und dort in die AMG-Fahrzeuge eingebaut.
Exklusive Sonderwünsche, deren Ausführung nicht ab Werk möglich sind, werden unter Einhaltung der Qualitäts- und Sicherheitsstandards von Mercedes-Benz und nach den Vorgaben des Gesetzgebers im AMG Performance Studio umgesetzt.

Both vehicles do not run very badly

What ever happened to Stuttgart? Panel gap issues? ;) Why aren't they as proud of the Alabama factory in the USA? I kid I kid. All everyone asks for is the cheapest "State" bidder and for production of their vehicle in Alabama. Surprising they don't do videos in that plant. Maybe I'm not kidding. Its like buying a Toyota (Toyoda), unless it's stamped Japan or in this case Germany, I don't buy it. Still, Mercedes has gone overboard for profit with plastics and cars affordable by Joe Sixpack and Sally Housecoat. You couldn't say Toyota and Mercedes in the same sentence. Now we all know reliability of a Toyota can't be compared to a Mercedes....it's not close but, now we can even say a Toyota os in more demand and higher priced out of the factory. (Whatever lovely factory most are assembled in ;) ) They did this factory thing in Stuttgart way back on the E350 face-lift in 2014, where nobody knows how they almost spent one billion Euros on the face-lift. That turned our well. Well... Maybe they are proud of the expensive SL. I wouldn't do a factory tour on the A Class. :) Notice, I didn't mention WWII. Too soon? I won't mention the automation, that put humans out and didn't make cars less expensive but, cut costs. Sadly, the A Class is probably more profitable. (I always enjoy these videos..at the price of an SL, it better be made damn well. Still won't mention the environment cost of all this digging up the ground and pollution.)
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!!!
