Something something insert Horn Horny joke here. I really couldn't think of a good one.
Horn releases with the Cliff's Rage banner for the celebration of Chapter 10's launch, and she is certainly an interesting unit the likes of which we've never seen before. In this short guide, I discuss her applications and why she's so highly sought after, as well as the various specific areas of her kit.

Horn is to Defenders what Bagpipe was for Vanguards.
And both are Victorian 6-Stars.
If you are the kind of "the best defense is the best offense" person, then yes she is for you.
She's also one of the very cool characters in the story and also got a very nice design. Absolutely a must get

I still considering to pull whether Passenger or Horn.
Even I already got M3 ashlock.
I really like playing IS mode, to the stage that I maxed everything then I have to wait for the next IS update. On that time I realize, even tho it can be fun using passenger in IS, I’ll got bored either from the redundant mechanic(got the hand collectible, rush recruit passenger, spam skill).
But I feel horn can made my run or my team comp unique from before. It’s really anoying to bring ashlock to IS, her dmg to low compare to her deployment cost.
So here my question, how vast the differences Dps wise between Ashlock and Horn.?
for reference, horn on overdrive has more than double ashlock's damage at 0 defence - they're incredibly different just by virtue of which weight class they're competing in, in that ashlock is a decent misc. 5* recruit to supplement your team, while horn can be a staple backbone carry that you build around
passenger in IS is good, but might have to tone expectations down from how much en is fawning over him - hand of diffusion runs are pretty rare, and outside of that he's mediocre; on the average case, horn'd change your experience much, much moreso than pass
horn s3 non overdrive: 2.4k
horn s3 overdrive: 3.3k
ashlock s2: 1.6k
Just want to add something; as someone who collected many caster (except maybe dusk & mostima), passenger is very overrated on EN. If u have either eyja, GG or ifrit then passenger's value in ur team drop significantly
Why? Cuz his skill just have terrible uptime, not having game breaking skill & him not having any innate res shred
And if u like IS, i would recommend GG over passenger. Giving her atk, aspd or sp recovery just straight up transform her s3 to insta global delete while she herself scales better with atk & aspd buff, while passenger need enemy to walk into his range
About horn, horn's damage is between SA & chalter so cant really compare her with ashlock
@Uwooogh I don't think it needs to be fair in the first place, bcus the rarity differences. everybody knows that 6* should perform better. so if I change my question bit like yours then it'll be like "how vast Horn domination over Ash? also where the area of Ash that can be considered as better or equal when compare to Horn?"
it's ok to speak up your opinion. in this case it might help other to get more point of view through other experience, as long you're not forcing your opinion to be the only truth.

If you're saying that Horn doubled the dps of Ash to 0 defense target, then it'll perform even better to bypass mid defense enemies. 😆

hey, cmon. even if someone ask which is bigger, ant or elephant, yes you can compare that.
you can say it's like siege vs yato dps or anything. since surprisingly that what I ask.
She seems almost as broken as surtr, chapter, and ling. Personally I'll be skipping I'm saving spalter, and irene. Irene's kit seems more fun to me, and that devil may cry s3 is so badass.

Started Arknights 1 month ago, I’m wondering if i should go for Galter or Horn, Horn is waifu material and really strong overall but i don’t have really good Guards at all apart from Specter and Melantha when i already have quite a lot of Defenders.
Can’t stop telling myself that with such a big ATK stat, Horn could clearly act as my 2nd ground DMG dealer but at the same time, Galter seems to be self-sufficient in quite some situations since she heals with her own attacks.
Started gathering mats for both at the end and nearly have all mats for E2 S7 Horn.
At the end, i could try to get Horn and Galter since she’s still far away but it depends of my luck too.
you should save at least 20~ something pulls for spalter banner because that more or less guarantees one pity 6* (incl. free pulls and event freebies), and dump the rest in horn
Did 11 pulls individually, on my tenth I got the guaranteed 5 star, gave to temptation and bought 1 roll with gold cert. Got lucky.
I just returned after more than a year when the banner ran out. One of my biggest regrets.
Didn't spend any pull on Fiammetta, been saving them for Horn.

How would you put Horn vs Skalter spark in specalter banner?
Tbh speaking in term of operator's power, only skadi alter is stronger than horn on spalter's banner while the rest is lackluster. In term of utility alone, on s1 she is toptier healer & s2 she gives a ton of stat. Example: S2M3 max level Skadi gives Popukar better stats than an unbuffed E2 90 Blaze, and Skadi gives more stats to Blaze than she gets from all 90 of her E2 levels. So if u can afford the 300 pull, go ahead
but she need 300 pull so yeah. Personally i wont pull on limited if i know the rate up OP is weak & i cant pull for 300 spark
300 pulls for any unit is kinda hard to stomach - skalter is a very strong unit for higher end stuff, definitely, but i'd take any 2 of {horn mlynar pozy} over skalt any day; just depends on how confident you are with pull budgeting I guess, it's a very personal decision
@@Drails Considering busted ops on a limited banner are always required to spark, I dont see how pozy would be different to sparking skalter since chotgun and Ling are also sparked back in their banners
And if i did not get pozy, at least she can be spooked

I have Silverash, Exusiai, Thorns, Chalter, Surtr, Eyjanfalla, Schwarz, Saria, Hoshiguma, Ling, Susurran and Nightingale. Who do you think I need the most between Horns and Skalter??
PD: Going to buy the selector and pick Mudrock.
skalter is minimum 300 pulls, so even though she's generally the stronger option, she's also ludicrously harder to obtain

As Drails says, Skalter you'd need to spark with 300 pull pity in the shop, but I'd still pick Skalter over Horn. Both are good, but Skalter s2 is just a must for me. No other operator you can just slap down for 7 dp to invest in a portable mini medic/permanent attack boost. Horn is basically just a jacked Meteorite on a ground tile.
Horn is going to be an insane operator for S1 only, it's very exciting she's releasing so soon
We already waited almost 6 months, it's not 'so soon' at all
Want her but won't go too hard, maybe 1 or 2 multistage. Going to wait for the chapter 11 pre banner with her, Joan de Arknights and Mudrock because no spooks either.
Plus Specture Alter is right after.

thorns, skalter, mudrock, saria, eya, gg, chalter, surtr, silverash, exia, bagpipe, blaze, ifrit, kalsit, ling, mountain, phantom, ash, ntr, mlynar, spalter...starting to look more like a top 20 op but she is definitely very unique in her range.

Come on, no need to be obtuse, operators have "unique" uses but there are quite clear cases of 6* operators being considerably far ahead compared to their peers lol

I'm not the smartest guy so that range worries me. Not sure I'd find myself using her for it even if I did get her. Same for Fiammetta but I use her for the S2 anyways.

From what i saw on yt comment, its mostly " worst SA" or " no utilities than SA", which i can only respond with lmao since i know mlynar is the tankiest guard (stat wise) currently on CN & has around similar (no full charge) or almost double SA's skill dps
Oh well, more reason to bench silvertrash & use daddy mlynar😊

Your first mistake was reading youtube comments.
Secondly, while its true that Mlynar doesn't have the utility SA has, nor the helidrop capabilities, he more than makes up for it with having nearly double the DPS than SA has (under peak conditions, even under non peak he can still outdps SA by a wide margin), and far better rotation. On top of also being fairly tanky and has taunt that is actually fairly useful in certain scenarios.
