What are your thoughts on United's first two matches?
Bad
Lisandro Martinez
Hilarious 🤣
Need new signings
They will be lucky to even finish in the top half 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The amount of memes we get from every Man United game is innumerable 😂
😂😂
Fr bro
It's kinda sad
Who is your club?
@@wilseph1 ur the new banter club you clown 🤡 here take this 🔴
At this point I would even consider playing Tom Heaten, Varane, and Bailly against Liverpool. With Martinez in the CDM position. Solid base. Good on the ball and air.
Is Heaton good at ball distribution?l highly doubt it
Martinez got bullied by mee at the back post how u gonna think he gonna do against Darwin 🤣
Bruuuuuh.... you are going to get beaten by 10 with that line up... lol.
@@AM-uo1iq its better than playing maguire as a cb, irs gonna be a disease
I hope you realise Varane isn’t good on the ball, he’s very clumsy
"so poor on the ball he doesn't count as an extra man in possession" lmao
He could probably say the same for Maguire tbh
I guess ten Hag used that Gru-meme during half-time:
"Well in case of tactics... We have no tactics..." 😅
😂😂😂
😂
Ten Hag in his mind :- This worked against AZ Alkmaar why isn't this working here ?
I was surprised of how Eriksen was left alone by his midfield teamates when playing out of defence when it was evident he needed help and the lack of fluidity of the team in general.
Prime Carrick wouldn't find an open man if he was in De Gea's position. Nobody was running enough to make themselves open. Any keeper would struggle in a team that runs 14km less than the opponents.
@@tayern3927 it's crazy how the goal keeper is expected to be prime Iniesta at this club
@@LearningNeverStopsEx Even prime Iniesta wouldn’t complete a pass to midfielders hiding behind their markers. He’s somehow expected to dribble past the high press and hand over the ball to Fred on a silver platter.
@@tayern3927 a midfield of Bruno, Fred and Eriksen, with Eriksen as the dm. This club is fugazi.
@@LearningNeverStopsEx if ten hag doesn't address Bruno's whining problem, he's as bad as the previous managers. I don't expect even expect him to fix mcfred. Their limited abilities are beyond coachable.
"At Brentford on Saturday, United were decked out in Stabilo green, as though somebody had highlighted where all the problems were." Jonathan Wilson, The Guardian.
Ouch!
🥶🥶🥶
🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂😂
De Gea was in blue but I get your point
Excellent comment.
He has the right idea but it’s poorly executed by the players. There were two plays I saw in the first half where we actually looked really good, one involved Luke Shaw moving from his position at lb to the final third through the middle using quick passing which ended in a chance for United. It looked like textbook ETH’s Ajax. So if we were to get better players I believe we could be on track to building something here.
Also I think Martinez should be given a chance in that cdm spot and use Eriksen instead of Fred higher up. Eriksen is good on the ball but he’s no cdm, he’s much better at creating chances for his team mates on the final third.
And lastly, Marcus Rashford. De Gea gets a lot of criticism and rightly so, but Rashford is a literal ghost on that pitch. I believe he never recovered from the Euros and he probably never will at United. It’s one of those things were it’s just better to close the chapter and restart somewhere new. A move away from Old Trafford is probably best for all parties involved.
No good players is gonna wanna risk their career at ubited
Rashford will actually get united good fund if he moves away
I mean yeah, but a good manager should adapt to the players he has and utilize their strengths
Rashford looked better in this match
@@santiagogarza8121 those players don't have any strength.
They are weakness personified
Brentford didn't need tactics. They played as a team. That was it. United could not care less.
during pre season, when ten Hag played a very high line, I immediately thought that they would be vulnerable from a long ball forward when facing bottom half teams who like to sit deep. Liverpool have this problem too when playing high line but they have van dijk who has the pace to cover and Allison who is great during one-on-one. Great analysis from this channel as always 👍. This prove that modern goalkeepers isn't just about good reflexes, they need to be very comfortable on the ball and have good passing ability.
Ten Hag should already know this
This is why you need to counter press effectively for a high line to work . City play a very high line for half a decade in the pl and almost always have the best defensive record .
@@JayzsMr it will take some time for a team to be able to press effectively as a unit. in the current UTD squad only Fred is an accomplished presser. Man City have Kyle walker, without him they would've concede more goals. Certain gameplay need certain kind of players to be successful. Since UTD board don't want to give him the budget to spend then it's probably best if he find another tactic that suits the current set of players
@@max0exp why hire ten haag if you want him to play like Conte . This is not going to work . Utd just don't have an plan in their sporting project
Lets see just how good dijk is, hes facing premier league best long ball passer in "Andersen" (Pallace cb)and zaha, and trent wont be miles near
Solid Tactics from Brentford!
10/10!
You guys really make the football game look more simple and i learn a lot from this show of analysis keep up the great work
Why can't ten hag try Martinez in 6, play Erikson 10 and varane and lindelof play centre back, feel it can create an immediate positive effect
Bailly and Varane for me.
Bailly is prone to mistakes. But he's press resistant. If he'd been put under pressure yesterday, he'd have dribbled past them and progressed the ball, putting Brentford under pressure.
That's the way to pull that team apart.
@@farhadchaudhry spot on 👌🏻
Because Varane can't play with the ball on his feet . How are you going to play out the back with a keeper who can't uses his feet and center backs who can't ? They will face many more of the same problems like shown in this video .
Well, definitely better than what is going on the last two games.
@@JayzsMr Ah... Maguire can't play with his feet either, plus he tracks back slow AF, has terrible awareness and horrible positioning. I don't see why Varane is worse then him.
Fun fact i read online: If Man United fail to score against Liverpool this weekend, they will have to choose the own goal as their Goal of the month.
Terrible situation for Ten Hag. Having to play his style of football with players that Ole, Jose, Van Gaal and even Moyes had. Combined with the fact he got NONE of his priority signings. And no, Lisandro Martinez was not a priority signing. It was purely a desperation signing.
u can't play Lisandro Martinez along Harry Maguire plus he's short in a league like the Premier
@@tssup562 You can only play 4 other defenders with Harry in the back. Simply too slow. Cement block feet with the turning radius of a steamship. Prime Maldini and Harry wouldn't work. A short Lisandro Martinez is the least of United's massive issues.
Should really be Varane and Bailly at the back.

The graphics and tools used to explain are just amazing. Great tactical piece
There was a hole in the defensive midfield but now I see there is a hole in the GK position too.
He is not a sweeper keeper ✅
De Gea after the match I cost my team three points, why aren't you getting out of the team? And same for Maguire. These players let Mourinho, Ole gooooo. Now it's Ten Hag who is struggling.....
Unfair to say De Gea should leave. He is apparently the only man who owns his mistake. Maguire has been costing your team a lot for quite a long time. When you should've bought a holding midfielder, you all are flirting with various attackers and strikers. De Gea and CR7 are the only players who saved your team last season.
You have very talented players that can work very well in teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and City. Your team needs spirit, passion, and tactical intelligence. And yes, not just any player, but players that suit the system.
That's not a De Gea issue. That's a Ten Hag issue. He should know that his goalkeeper isn't capable of performing that task and hasn't really ever been asked to. If I asked one of my employees to submit my taxes but they're only trained for warehouse duties, is that their fault? No, it's mine. I didn't deploy my resources effectively. That's the simple truth. ETH has a group of players that, right now, are not capable of playing this way due to some incompatible personnel at key positions. Until that's remedied, he needs to find alternative solutions.
@@JackSordakaPVS De Gea saved you last season. He is not your problem
@@JackSordakaPVS no he doesn't 😂😂😂

Have you never seen him under a high ball?
He's deficient in many aspects of goalkeeping.
Great servant to the club but there is no room for sentiment, he has to go.
It's probably too late in the transfer window but this has to be his last season.
The midfield position has just being become a football emergency for ManUnited. Forget FDJ. Forget buying attackers. Solidify the midfield.
Paredes - £25mn
Nunes - £45mn
Sangare - £25mn
Laimer - £20mn
3 of these players cost us £70 to 80mn but also gives us immense depth.
We can then possibly sell McTominay next season.
We are not the team to compete for FDJ. We shouldnt kid ourselves.
We will never win games if we cant control games.
Laimer won't go for 20 million and he also wouldn't go to United if Bayern is interested.
Finally, someone who points out Paredes, one of the best passers in the game. Juventus even want to buy him to replace Rabiot. United should go for Paredes straight away
Been crying out for a midfield for 3 years. Still have Fred and McTominay.
Sangare has signed a new contract I’m pretty sure sadly

See Forwards dropping back and Dalot can't even run back enough to help defense. What an unprofessional lad!

This is actually good… thanks for this… a lot of us united fans should see this and I do believe that ETG needs to adapt as the players will take time

I had no idea what an issue De Gea was until seeing this match live. As a Barcelona supporter for a long time, this style of play simply can't get off the ground without a keeper who can hit the sort of balls you'll see from the likes of a Neuer, ter Stegen, Emi Martinez, or Ederson among others. Not sure they will be able to address this and it's really massive even if they get the one or two center mids they need. The note you made regarding the wingers is important as well. They must be able to exploit those one v ones.

Excellent analysis.
Ten hag needs to make adjustments. I dont want to hear any slander about de gea because most times,he's the only guy that keeps United a top 6 side. Playing de gea as a ball playing goalkeeper when you know he isn't one is setting him up for failure. Its idiotic
If that's the case, then when United are up against 2 pressing strikers, they immediately need to switch to 3 at the back.
That's on the manager.
Putting a 5'9" CD in front of him is stupid too, because of his crippling cowardice.
Super agree with you. Screwed up Manager (Ten Hag) needs to change his Dutch style in Premier League. I wouldn't be surprised he will still force his players to play back build up for Liverpool game and lose again. He is too proud and stubborn to learn his mistakes.
It is interesting to watch. Ten Hag wants to play a specific style and he has a vision on where he wants to take the club. I actually like where he wants to go. But, it doesn't seem like he has the players to do that yet and he's going to have to be a bit more pragmatic (less idealistic) to get a result. Could it be that he just didn't realize how much work there is to do to play that style? Liverpool are a high pressing team and that could be disaster for MU if they try the same tactics again.
amazing video!!!!!!!!!
excellent analysis
This game exposed United's weakness in terms as a team. The team needs a CB that can make progressive passes. If only they had a keeper like Ederson who is good with a ball on his feet and a clever CDM like De jong who is composed and can beat the press and find the perfect pass he would definitely bring a different atmosphere into the team. I also wish Rashford can be a threat on the field. The atmosphere at the team is just bad if that would change that there would be a difference in performance. I hope Ten hag uses this match to reflect on and fix the mistakes.
Ten Hag is too proud to learn his mistakes. Very soon, MU will lose more games under Ten Hag.
Please do one for the Liverpool game when they get trashed 8-0 😭😭
Fr
I feel like one of the midfielders higher up should have been dropping deep to pick up the ball while Fred stayed back in a DM role to cover in case the ball was lost. I didn't watch the second half but Ten hag made no effort to try and change tactics at any point in the first half. It's shocking.
Yea if it's a 3-1-4-2
Ten Hag is a screwed up Manager.
Fred would be rubbish as a dm
Move Eriksen in as 10. That will give United many more goal scoring chances, and reduce the risk when he is playing lower. Then what to do with Bruno? Either on the bench or see if he can learn to play as one of the front 3, because while I think he is not quite as good as Eriksen offensively, he might also be even worse defensively. So a n 8 or definitely a 6 with him would be super risky.
I respect both klopp and pep but u can see that an era can come to the end - nobody before disaster 🌊 😂
Well Real Madrid seems to keep going. No era comes to an end for them.
@@yusufjee still can be ended if the management is intelligent as bartemou 😆
I always want movement on the ball, near the ball, and off the ball and I have noticed not enough movement they are slow to react ..Every player should want the ball all of the time and should move to create space or give the ball player extra options all the time
I respect everything De gea has done for man united but I think its best to find another keeper who is actually good with their feet.
Which thing do you use as that circle thing? app name pls?
Best analysis of this match
I think from your previous analysis, it’s clear that Man U can’t take advantage of 1v1s against the WCBs since they can’t get the ball there. Short Build up is not possible and long balls are a numerical disadvantage.
I think a solution would be to isolate Ronaldo and rashford against one of the wide CBs and kick long GKs. This will push the opposition naturally back since they’re afraid of the space in behind.
De Gea can't hit accurate long balls
@@JayzsMr fair
This was always gonna happen once it was clear Ten Hag wasn't allowed to drop the liabilites like Rashford, Fernandes, Mctominay, Maguire, De Gea & Shaw.
It's impossible to play good, attractive one-two touch football with players physically incapable of holding onto the ball. All a team has to do is press Fernandes, Rashford, Mctominay, De Gea, Fred, Maguire, Ronaldo and Shaw and they're turning into liabilties, surrendering the ball easily.
Losing Martial before the season started was a massive blow to Ten Hag. He's the only striker United have who can get a hold of the ball and keep it. Unlike Ronaldo for Brentford's 1st goal, he wouldn't have collesped so easily under the slighest challenge.
Either Man Utd spend and spend big to get a squad suited for Ten Hag, or you change the tactics for which Te Hag was brought in. Eriksen as the sole pivot is embarrassing. De Gea as a ball playing keeper? Every single manager tries. only for De Gea to lose confidence in himself after making mistakes constantly. Completely directionless management.
I'd prefer Man United to give Ten Hag to understand that Premier League is much tougher than Ajax's league or any other league and he needs to be able to proactively change his tactics to win every game. He also needs quality players who can dribble, shoot outside the box, and contend for the ball. If he gets this, he will survive in Premier League. Else, he will soon be sent packing.
Ten hag should stick to his plan and develop the team. To accelerate developement he should buy players and get rid of players like fred and shaw as soon as possible. With these players nobody can win anything
Eriksen is a wonderful secondary pivot tough
@7:11 you suggested that Bruno could make a short pass to Eriksen but i disagree about that being the right pass. If Bruno passed the ball wide to Dalot at least 5/6 Brentford players would have been taken out of the game and UTD would have broken through the high press and could counter leaving 5 Brentford players in the wrong half of the pitch.
can i ask which software you use for this analysis, thank you!
There is a reason de Gea is not Spain nr 1.....great analysis by the way.
Idea for ManUtd - De Gea to play long to Sancho or Rashford down the channels. It's 5 v 6, good chance of success and half the Brentford team on the wrong side of the halfway line.
Use it as a counterattack from keeper kick off.
I hadn't realised they were using any tactics!
The full backs supposed to make the pich smaller by coming in the middle and create triangles..3 vs 4 situation, but they never did it..Dallot and shaw are so poor
1:45 Would Dean Henderson solve this issue? Im pretty sure that he is also a pretty good stopper, even if not as good at De Gea at stopping shots.

Ole was pragmatic, he used the limitations of united players when he came. He only began to lose when he tried to be fancy with the press and possession. If Man U want to survive without additional players, they should park the bus and counter. Know your place boys.
Great analysis. Looks like Ten Haag got out thought
So basically ten Hag played a short defender and a slow defender combination. Wow. I hope ten Hag plays the same against Liverpool so that we can write off the season immediately
Erik Ten Hag is a successful manager in football that won Silverware in one of Europe's recognized leagues. He is generally considered an excellent Manager. Erik Ten Hag wants to play a certain way with his teams. The way Ten Hag wants to play requires his team to play out from the back. If Erik Ten Hag wants to play out of the back, his players should be able to play out of the back. If Erik Ten Hag players can't play from out the back then Erik Ten Hag should do one of two things. Teach the players how to play out from the back or get the players who can play out from the back. If Erik Ten Hag still doesn't have the players to play out from the back, Why is Erik Ten Hag trying to play out from the back? Additionally, Rashford is not a "highly skilled winger". No sense in trying to get him one on one against a fullback or CB, because he's not shown the ability to beat anyone off the dribble, so why play a system that can isolate a winger when it's not to their advantage. Bottom line is Erik Ten Hag wants to play a certain way, but he doesn't have the personnel to play the way he wants. To my mind, he's either got to change what he wants to do and play the way his team's skill set is designed to play or continue to have days like this.
If Ten Hag wants to play a certain way, he needs players that are capable of doing so. This means getting players in that he wants, and getting rid of the current squad. Until that happens, he is screwed.
Worried for Ericssons health playing for man utd.
Roy Keane said these players would also throw Ole under the bus and that was in 2019. It seems little has changed and Ten Hag is next for the bus!!
Man utd should just try baily and varane in the next 5 games. Imagine what Liverpools press will do to maguire 🤣 🤣
Do, Ford, Cho, Tial, Nga
5 fast attackers
Suitable for counter attacking football...
This Man U may thrive if they start playing Mou brand of football
Hag is too proud to do so though
And the management and the fans are too stubborn to admit that they don't have enough firepower to play any brand of football except park the bus and counter...
Can you make a video on present PSG tactics ??
Ten Hag can be fired in November, I swear.
😂😂😂
And then what? That doesn't solve the problem of the players being lazy and incompetent.
He should leave ASAP i love him and believe he is a world class coach, but this team and board are throwing him under the bus. Our whole club is rotten to the core
@@dentonyoung4314 it won’t help United. But I hope Ten Hag gets out before he becomes the nest managerial scapegoat
End of the day, ten Hag showed he is gullible and inexperienced in the EPL with his mind boggling player selection. He is also gullible in retaining Maguire as Captain instead of leveraging on Ronaldo's experience and leadership abilities by giving him the armband instead this season. This lack of decision making has alienated Ronaldo and added to his frustrations at helping make Utd great once again. I would have thought he brought Steve McClaren in to advise him on the nuances of the EPL but what we have seen thus far doesn't show that has been the case. To top it off, the clown show put up by Arnold and Murtough in this transfer window has once again shown nothing has improved in the board room level. Them two are just Ed Woodward reborn. My prediction is that Utd will be in a relegation battle this season and will finish bottom half of the table.
Long ball to Martinez side will almost always successful because he's 5'7. A taller opponent would head the ball to his mate's quick run which Maguire couldn't keep up.
The pre_season squard, where is it, we had 3 younger players eg Ekber and other's where are theys?
The camera on the tactical screen wasn't well placed. But good analysis as usual
It's obvious that Ten Hag hasn't the men for the play Ten Hag wants to play. Moreover, Ten Hag doesn't seem keen to change it's tactics to exploit the current team points of strenght (i.e., Sancho, Shaw, Rashford, Dalot...).
Eighter the team change (A LOT!) or the manager change 😢
All fans now need to rebel realizing that degea has been silently destroying the team buildup play for many years, at least 4years.
Been saying it for a long time, de gea cannot plug for united if they want to play this style. He's horrendous on the ball
They lack problem solvers on the pitch, those who take initiative and move the ball around.
Ronaldo for the most part plays his role perfectly, but he can't do anything if the midfield and wingers can't provide a decent pass and cross to him.
The back line of Man utd is pure entertainment for past many seasons. Now its mere comical. Sorry, but its the truth.
Any idea why Utd spent 40 million on an unknown unfinished product , Amad Diallo to be loaned out? The money could be spent to buy a quality first team player. Same goes to Pellistri
Manager: I want Sancho
Board: he is too expensive,
Manager: I need a winger badly
Board buy two young wingers
Board: there you go, I even get two wingers for u

World class analysis….United need to play 532 like Brentford this weekend v Liverpool and be aggressive with the high press….might give us a chance or at least damage limitation
United doesn't have 3 good centre backs to play like this. They don't even have two good.
@@Cubus-zapasowy Only Varane. Oh my 😅
@@Cubus-zapasowy United doesn't have any good players, as far as I can tell. Give them one more chance against Liverpool, if they bomb again clear out all the deadwood and bring in a bunch of 18 year olds. At least a youth team will be able to run and they won't look like slugs on the pitch.
Now make a video about how city change with haland .
Another problem is United players not spotting runs fast enough. You're losing a game and your first instincts should be to progress the ball into goal scoring situations as quick as possible. This team exasperates me.
Perhaps they should put some of their ball boys in the squad!
It is shocking to see how much rashford and sanches are weaken
What is the app ?
Fred is a disgrace both deep and high up in the midfield. They should get a solid CDM. As a city fan, it's sad to see a glorious Manchester United is this situation.
Don't blame Fred. It is screwed up Manager (Ten Hag) continues to use him for both games. Very surprise Ten Hag is so bad in selecting players for both games.
Buying Martinez was a costly mistake. He'd work well in a more technical team like Madrid or Barca, IMO.
hijacking martinez manu will pay twice. The price and during the season he will get targeted.
ETH will never get what he aims to do with this set of players, its impossible. I feel Fred has a lot of good attributes in terms of shifting the ball but he has 0 physical presence and it shows horribly in these games. The first de gea mistake set the tone for the whole of the game, this team seems incapable of recovering from a goal down anymore. Huge rebuild is needed ggmu
This is basically what I've been saying about this squad they're not technical enough for the way ETH wants to play. You don't even need a tactical breakdown to deduce that.
Is there a reason eth isn't using donny?
I think ten Hag thought De Gea was better on the ball than he is, but there still should have been another option in the midfeild avalible. It is shocking tho that he didn't adapt a back three until after Man U. conceded the second goal. I know it's only 10 min. in, but Klopp, Tuchel, Conte, Pep would have been all over there players if they gave up posession in their final third off a goal kick. That doesn't seem to be ten Hag's style, but he needs to get some fight about him if he's going to survive in the PL. Also you knew Brentford played with two strikers. It's just embarrassing.
Would it be better to play Martinez at DM where his height is less of an issue? Also, him at DM means we do not need Erikson, who I think is a more offensive player, to be at DM, offering more defensive solidity while still having a good passer as the pivot
that and supported by an inverted full back.
the entire first eleven should be benched in the next match. Except for Ronaldo, Martinez, dalot and Sancho.
Dalot is not good enough to be first team player
@@THENAGES i think that Dalot is good, he need more freedom when he attack. He's good at dribbling, he also like to cut inside and shoot
Looking back at Jose Mourinho period at Manchester United, now everybody must be agreeing that "The Special One" did an excellent job by winning the FA Community Shield, Carabao Cup and the UEFA Europa League between 2016-2017. 🤣🤣 Btw, I am from the Netherlands, and I can say that in general Dutch coaches are very inflexible. EtH won't give up his ideas even he knows that the current players aren't suitable for his high pressing game.
Ten Hag needs to play Lisandro CDM
Heaton
Dalot Maguire Varane Malacia
Eriksen Lisandro Fred
Sancho Ronaldo Martial
Rashford Bruno Shaw McTomincay and De Gea are just too bad to keep playing.
In video advert segue level 100 lol
This is why I prefer Varane over any other defender currently in United. He's faster, better positioning and good in the air. I don't understand how Ten Hag can play high with Maguire when it's clear he's very slow tracking back, leaving the back exposed many times in the past because of this and which led to one of the goals.
And yes, United needs to sign players that fit his style, current players seem (again) too safe on their positions, they need more internal competition so they feel threatened and start putting in the work.
United lost the game in possession, and blaming the defense for their defending is unfair for all of the goals I think. The last one was brilliant brilliant play by Brentford, I don't know if even City could have defended that one. But the key problems are that Ten Hag is a possession based manager with a team that isn't really good with or without the ball. United can't play short, because a majority of their defense can't be trusted to get the ball out of their own half. They can't play wide, because Dalot and Shaw aren't really threats out wide, and because sending both of them forward leaves Maguire and whoever he is paired with 1 on whoever is attacking. They can't play direct, because everyone and their nan can see that Ronaldo is who they'll look for and most CBs today can outpace him. And the worst part is, the players act like they won the quadruple every season since 2013, and won't listen to anyone telling them what to do. This is confidently a mid-table side, and I think this year is the year they finally realize it. For the sake of United's prestige (and trust me I only care because at this point it's sad to see them fall so far), I hope the Glazers realize that ten Hag is the only way forward. I said it before, if Mourinho, Ragnick, and Ten Hag can't get this squad to play well, no one can. Changing the manager will only make the players' egos worse.
System creates 11 vs 10 in possession but de gea and Fred makes it 9 vs 10.
Fred replaced by de jong and and de gea by a good ball playing gk will improve performance this season but won't be enough to win anything.
But they can't rebuild quickly atleast they have idea and manager.
They need de jong and a keeper for sure to save this season. De jong when pressured is very good at getting away and carrying ball forward. But thry will definitely need
New full backs midfielders and forward to become title contenders.
De jong not wanna man United right now after this 4-0
He wanna Chelsea
And you add that wasteman Fernandes into that and it becomes 8 vs 10
