I'm 51 and haven't felt any emotions other than fear and anger since I was 12. Watching this video and the one with Sam Harris forced me to feel such an intense wave of gratitude that I literally cried. I'm still struggling to absorb the idea that I'm not alone in valuing deeply profound thoughts. If you read this Lex/Bret/Sam please know you've all impacted my life in ways I'd not thought possible. During the Pandemic, as I exercised daily, I turned to the Darkhorse Podcasts in search for some actual science to break the monotony and think about science that Heather and Brett provided. I had no idea in what direction they would go. These people are so heroic! Thank you Lex for interviewing Brett. That required courage as well!
If you can listen to, and absorb the info from, a podcast while exercising then you're not really exercising. LOL
@@Jinsun202 Born with cerebral palsy affecting my legs, I have been exercising regularly since I was 32. You are right,, I have never been able to exercise at your level, I am sure. But, I have been driven enough to get a BsN and an MD and started a booming practice in Ob/Gyn! I am retired now and yes, I am still exercising, still ambulatory, AND listening to Darkhorse Podcast gratefully!

In Australia, vaccines were mandated for construction workers. Having a big mortgage, the choice I had was to take vaccine and keep everything I’ve worked my life for, or stand by my morales, and loose it all. I sold my soul, had to tick a box on the form to consent it as well.

I couldn't agree more. I've mentioned it before with respect to Bret and Heather and Evergreen: "As for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today." Genesis chapter 50, verse 20 (from the Joseph narrative). It rings more and more true to me the more time passes.
What happened at Evergreen was a disastrous collapse due to rot. This rot was caused by etiquette trumping truth. This decay is widespread in our academic institution. It may cost Evergreen its existence and have already devalued their diplomas.

Lex gets better and better at interviewing, and Brett is becoming super-efficient at getting reasoned points across. This was a great listen.
When I started I thought I will just check this out because it is a long video. But now. I’m taken back and am thankful I took the time to listen to it all. The spontaneous responses both of these men engage in makes me thankful I took the time to watch this entire segment. There’s so much to digest in this exchange that I will spend the next few days thinking about all of the information provided in this great podcast. Awesome is all I can say.

I don't know enough about virology to be able to sift, but I do feel confident that Bret was not speaking in bad faith and noted that he avoided excess hubris to his assertions and possible hypotheses and questions. I don't see him parallel to Q-Anon crap like Plandemic (resentful ex doctor) or the first-aid clinic doctors.
On the other hand the fact that they censored Bret when he was speaking with a renowned experienced medical doctor (and censored his US Senate testimony), and have censored other legit medical doctors with mainstream cred .. except for a bit of a critical angle or even questions and curiosity, that's disconcerting.
I mean if YT wanted to censor somebody who said SARS-COV2 is a plan from the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, well I prefer no censorship but at least that reaction is understandable. Not this.

Totally understand. I’m so challenged by this low culture time and luckily have found some projects that are open to a new system.
Life doesn't seem real
many feel/felt like you. never loose TRUE SELF no matter what circulates..
I truly believe that we are in a transitional period at this time specifically in regards to media, which is pretty obvious to most, but by extension culture. There is way more out there than ever has been before, as a result culture is more fractured than ever before as everyone sort of retreats into their own bubble of media of preference. All in all I truly believe it's a good thing but it's a bumpy road, to be sure.
I remember the first time I improvised a guitar solo that was truly " inspired". Inspired in the sense that it did not come from me but rather from somewhere else. I know what you're thinking because I used to feel the same way. This is what people refer to as anything from being in the zone, to feeling the holy spirit, to being possessed. All I know is that I was no longer "thinking" about what to play, which is what one does even while improvising. Typically while improvising you're playing things that you know will work in a given context, but I only thought about the first phrase and after that I just played what the song wanted me to. It's like I noticed it after it had already been going on for awhile. I didn't have to think about anything at all really, the music was playing me! That's really the best way I can describe it. Get some freinds together and jam out, just do it, there is nothing like that feeling. Probably the only thing that I would ever call spiritual to happen to me.
I like the idea of publishing my poetry for real instead of just clogging up my belongings w scraps of paper and notes and memes and sketches...it's a waste!!

It used to be 10 years ago I could come on here and see 30 different cellphone camera angles all proving that the legacy media was blatantly lying about a story, or deliberately ignoring really important events, but that was really bad for the manufacturers of consent that demand total control of public thought perception and discourse. This podcast and numerous others like it (not to mention the open-minded types of opinions and points of view espoused here) are extremely popular. If the censorship had ANYTHING AT ALL to do with business strategy, then *this* is not what they'd be censoring. But I guess I'm speaking from and idealized "in a perfect world" position. The censorship being employed is cynical, anti-human, nonsensical, and in some cases just damm evil.
Lex has inspired me to be a better listener.The quality of his questions are evidence of the quality of his ability to patiently allow the speaker to present the material.
Regardless of other things he said, the thing about children is exactly right. There was no precedent of mass vaccinating children against an illness that is not dangerous to children in order to protect old people who are reluctant to vaccinate themselves.
The problem isn't a lack of restraint, the problem is corruption, we have far too many people ignorant of what they are involved in, making operational decisions with a profit motive & we never hold these people accountable.

People die in their sleep, and have heart attacks while playing sports, flying airplaines. Vares isn't much help at all now and neither is the CDC or WHO. Insurance companies, and morticians have their statistics and observations. But, not much information comes out.
Bret is wrong about a lot and one of those things is how little we have control over much of anything and luck plays a huge role in life, to think you can avert things that happen by luck by just programming your brain to avoid situations is the immense hubris of human beings.

This all has me reliving my old hippie days of protests and sit-Ins about our military losing at one time 100k brave soldiers that were my friends that were drafted without choice to join military. Vietnam was a war that we felt was for nothing good but for invasion of another country for assets. I’ve never trusted the government since. Perspective is very important. That’s why I’m sharing my story with you. I’ve never forgotten how manipulated we felt as they portrayed us as kids who used drugs. That was farther from the truth! Besides even if we were smoking marijuana from Mexico (that’s a big hint on the government too) we would just eat and sleep. While alcohol was killing people. Tell me what’s up with that?

Barely second to the development of vaccines, the lack of curiosity about the origin of the virus on the part of the media, the CDC, the WHO, and every talking head "concerned" scientist on TV, for such an extentend period of time, has been the most concerning thing to me.

Viruses are what cause inflammatory reactions within the body of every living thing. Bacteria, allergens, or other chemicals or endocrine disruptors can be cause for immune system responses. For example the flu,& common cold are also Corona viruses, & cause upper respiratory distress and digestive issues as those parts of our bodies are the first step in ridding the body of the foreign substance, bacteria. If the bacteria causes viral symptoms & cannot be isolated & identified, we simply go with the symptoms & probable bacteria that could have caused the viral inflammatory response. You are the type of people we need to run for office. We need to take back our government. Government exists to serve the people. The people do do exist to serve the government. I feel we have lost our way on this fact.

I worked with an Italian dude at a government contractor job in the EU, and he was telling me that in order to be a successful politician in Italy you have to "really like kids", be coke addict, or have a very serious gambling problem, SOMETHING. You must have some serious vice by which you can be controlled. He said "honest men cannot be trusted."
For example, secret societies often require members to do things that would completely destroy their life if anyone found out, because it creates an "honor among thieves" with mutually assured destruction blackmail materials all around. Or at least those a layer behind you. You are locked into a circular firing squad where everyone important has metaphorical nuke codes, and nobody wants to die.
A LOT of high level government folks, if not all, are members of such organizations.
If you somehow manage to get past the gatekeepers and into anything meaningful in government without being controlled, you WILL be treated like Trump was by the media, as well as endless corrupt judges and agencies and their apparatchiks.

This must be why I haven't seen Brett and Heather's podcasts of Dark horse in a while. I used to watch their podcasts in the beginning in 2020 and all the time and suddenly it disappeared. I just start running across their podcasts in the beginning of this year. You tube is a piece of work with all this censorship.
All of the methods you list were used effectively (with varying degrees of success) by China, New Zealand and South Korea, each with different political systems and cultures. It proves the goodness of science and fact orientation verses ideology. It seems that cause-effect relationships actually exist and knowledge of them (complete or generalized) can guide rational action.
One of the rare videos I wish I could like multiple times. A joy to listen to such thoughtful and nuanced honesty these days.

Sigh. It’s so sad how there have been numerous legitimate physicists on this show and people who don’t understand any better eat up the shitty physics ideas that don’t work. I can tell you as someone who has spent years around high-energy physics that his theory is roundly rejected by almost everyone for highly technical reasons. I understand that the average person who hasn’t studied physics doesn’t know any better. But believe me, it’s an incredibly poorly-defined theory that makes almost no testable predictions. There are better ideas on which one can spend time thinking.

Real practicing theoretical physicists at top physics departments are the people who work on this. Look up people like Ed Witten, Nima Arkani-Hamed, Gerard t'Hooft. These are the people who are worth listening to. They work on quantum gravity daily. Eric is not a practicing physicist. It is impossible to keep up with the massive volume of technical developments that have occurred in a field if you have left it for over 20 years. It is simply not possible. His paper on geometric unity has no reference whatsoever to numerous developments in recent years. How do you link it to the standard model? How does it make testable predictions? If you can't provide adequate answers to these and numerous other developments which have occurred in the last 20 years, then it's not worth anybody's time. It either makes testable predictions or it doesn't. His theory does not. It's that simple. Crazy ideas are a dime a dozen in theoretical physics and almost all of them are wrong. It is incredibly hard to come up with a great new idea in physics and if you haven't been following hte field for 20+ years, it is almost guaranteed your ideas are incorrect, because how could you possibly explain the most recent developments that actual physicists who work daily on a given topic have developed? Dan Bongino has been covering an interesting angle of this I've heard nowhere else. Apparently the Wuhan lab was working directly with the Chinese military to develop a vaccine even BEFORE the lab leak was supposed to have happened. That alone is a strong indicator that the virus was developed expressly as a bioweapon and possibly released intentionally, as uncomfortable as that may be to accept (if true). Also there's a developing story about a CCP spy chief who may have defected to the US with major secrets in tow. Hopefully we'll get more on this soon.

There is absolutely no reason to take his opinion more seriously than the experts who have actually authored and studied the effects of ivermectin for a living, who resoundingly say it is not effective against Covid.
Why doesn't anyone talk about the fact that the NIH has a study online that Ivermectin is successful in 86% of early, mild to moderate cases of Covid but they said they (still) were not recommending it because the number of participants was too small?
Lex, we must also admit that much, if not a majority, of what we have declared as definitive through scientific method has constantly changed, morphed, or been outright wrong. Science said leeching was effective. I’ve been covered in leeches up to my knees...there wasn’t much I would consider as therapeutic benefit from that experience. I love what you’re doing. This is all so compelling...the flopping and flailing to gain definition is only unique to our species. We are the only species that is uncomfortable with a temperature fluctuation of 5 degrees one way or another. We contemplate our existence, while other species just exist. There is only one legitimate answer and you’ve consistently brought it forth. It’s love and compassion. It’s noble to attempt understanding, but sometimes it is advantageous to throw our hands in the air and realize we don’t understand a thing. We are so quick...here and gone...we want when we should give. I love your thoughts about music. I attempt to play a number of instruments, and although I’m terrible at playing, I love being in my studio with my guitars, keys, sax, and percussion. I can burn days were I not interrupted. We are an anomaly and we fool ourselves into the idea that definitive knowledge is a thing. We are in the cave, defining shadows, until we see the real thing and run back to the cave.
