Hello how are you doing I just looked at your video and I’m trying to do the same thing you did but it’s asking me for a serial number and I don’t know where to put that in
Does anyone know if this resets all the monitors for the smog check? i turned off the dod and not realizing i needed to get smog. The smog station said the truck wasnt ready. I wish i would have checked before but luckily my boy has a scanner that tells you if the smog is ready or not and i have 4 monitors that were not. I drove around with the time i had and 2 monitors cleared but now waiting for O2 sensor and Evap
Do you remember about how many miles your vehicle has when you desable the AFM? My 07 avalanche has 240k mikes it runs smoothly but I'm looking to do this to prevent a future engine failure but im hesitant about it.
Hey mine make a lefter tap because of this.. so I put a new lifter in mine . And was sounded great then 10 mins later it made a tap again. So I was told to turn off the dod with hp tuner
I bought and used a Diablo tuner. Wish i would of known about hptuner because now i am constantly resetting my fuel composition because of the virtual e85 sensor throwing off my fuel ratio and making my truck run too rich. Hptuner could of fixed that and so much more.
No. When you just turn off the system, like in the video, you are actually just 'electrically' turning off the solenoids that allow the oil to pass through the manifold passages to the special lifters. The special lifters are physically still in the engine - but the computer will not let them collapse like they do when the system is activated. A FULL delete is the one you are referring to. Replacing all the lifters with normal ones - along with the lifter trays, cam shaft and blocking the oil passages by replacing the valley cover - is the FULL DELETE.
Yeah, that’s enough however the camshaft selection will be severely limited by keeping vvt sprockets. If you want anything hotter than bone stock when running vvt, you have to install limiting blocks inside the vvt sprocket to limit advance, unless you want a stock cam.
I wonder if you have to return back to a stock file before dealer service or taking it to the emissions test just like you do with the Diablo Sport tuner, Pulsar LT, and the Range disabler (unplugging from OBD port). These 3 prevent certain systems from showing ready.
It depends on the vehicle most GM vehicles are 2 credits per vehicle once you license that vehicle on your MPVI you can read/change/write to that vehicle as many times as you want
But will it pass Idaho emissions Ada County and Canyon County? That’s my question I have the same Tahoe the same mirror the same color and I live in Nampa
I’m just trying to figure out what I can get away with when I do a 6 L or 6.2 L swap I have the the dongle and no it doesn’t run your battery down I’ve had it in my Tahoe for 2 1/2 years never had a dead battery and I drive truck so it let gets left parked for weeks at a time but when I had to do omissions last month I had to go and do a full OBD to drive cycle which is 50 miles round-trip freeway speeds basically 2 Eisenman Rd. and then back to Napa which is about 70 miles and then it passed on the same day but you just can’t unplug the range programmer and not do a drive cycle so basically what I’m saying is is that everything Hass to be kosher after you unplug the DOD disabler for it to pass emissions so if I replaced my engine and left everything in tact it went through a code that it wasn’t working and it wouldn’t pass
@@blautomotive7230 I’m assuming both because it plugs in to the OBD two port I am in Idaho emissions technician but I got my license back before OBD one and OBD two is Eli’s and it was it was a sniff test
You have to keep E85, cus all gas has some E85 in the gas. Normally up to 10% ethanol in all the gas unless you buy straight gas with no ethanol., expensive!
@@nathanlomeli3900 higher oxygenated e85 makes higher HP & less MPG. So yea it will burn faster. I don't know who your talking about removing it from their gas? I know QT, HYVEE, & CASEY'S sales 93 without ethanol And some without in all grades
@@martyb4815 I never really noticed any difference I have a 07 Tahoe and a 09 Tahoe with AFM and they are flex fuel I believe e85 actually gets less MPG then regular gasoline since it has lower energy content, maybe it’s cause they are trucks when I run 91 or 89 the gas will typically last 2 days longer
Got the same horseshit afm/dod bullshit going on with my 2013 Avalanche. I’m ripping out all of it, cam/lifters valley cover solenoids ect. Then throwing in a Doug Herbert hydraulic billet roller, fresh set of roller lifters , and his beehive springs. Why the fuck would GM design such an elaborate asinine system in the first place?
That's insane they want you to buy damn CREDITS for every single time you flash? Sounds american for sure. Rom raider, ECU flash and others for most Japanese's platform's are all free because they care.
This fixed my tahoe, thanks
Thanks... Gotta do this on my Silverado

Don’t you got to block the oil passage from the vlom manifold first before tune it? I’m asking bcuz I saw it on another video

How big does my lap top need to be for the hp tuner
Doesn't take much Im running on a 11yr old Thinkpad T430
Is it enough to replace LS3 cam, VLOM, LS3 lifters and ECM tune to delete AFM and save VVT ? L99 2011 camaro ss

Yes you can upload the original file back into the ECM
Why would you want to go to a dealership in the 1st place? 🙄
If disabling the dod will it not pass inspections?
Yeah it will.
This is happening to my truck. I need help 😢
hey man i got the same tahoe you think i swap my engine with a non flex fuel 5.3
reason being low compression on 1st cylinder and 7th cylinder

you don't buy credits every time you flash that vehicle, but you do have to buy credits for each vehicle.
