  • Repairing the rear quarter and heater channels in this video. Thought it would have been a quick repair but there was more rust than what I could see. #VWbug #volkswagenbeetle #volkswagenbug #volkswagen #vw #VDubRun23

Hi Brandon, Here you have a lot of crispy metal so a lot of cutting away and replacing with new metal forming, good luck with the restoration👍🏻🍀🛠. Greetings.Hubertus🙏🏻🇳🇱☮🇳🇴

Great video. Chasing the pinholes is never ending. What you think will take an afternoon takes 3 times as long. You are making good progress also I think a propane torch and putty knife will take off the undercoating.

Ah thats a good idea I'll have to try that! And yes the pinholes are a nightmare. Over that 4 days I felt like I got nothing done. I guess because I was expecting to knock out more than what I did.

Should just replace the whole heater channel that is the support of the whole frame.

If this were a oval or something more desirable I probably would have dished out the money to do channels but these weren't in that bad of shape and I already had the spare metal laying around so the repair to them didn't cost me anything but time really.
