- Well I finally got this figured out enough to get pinky in the air. I have a lot to learn and already suck at tuning helicopters, especially the tail. one day at a time. sorry the camera was too high at the end to show the screen. still getting the hang of the gopro.

You're pretty brave flying so close to your porch. Beautiful car!
Thanks! 1999 996 I spruced up!
Beautiful ¡
The sun is just saying "Hello".
You can add wag suppression to help with that tiny wag.
ya I can see I am going to like this radio/controller!! you were right!
how would you know when to use wag suppression instead of playing with gain?
I had the same question even though I don't even have Vbar 😅@@RotoRCol
Thats a good question! Im not that far along yet!
@@RotoRCol so from what I understand, it’s mainly used when you adjust gain and you still have that slight wag you can not get rid of you use wag suppression.
Nice! I’m building my raw 500 right now. What headspeeds are you running here?
Thanks! Im running 1850, 2200, and 2600
Gimmie gimmie gimmie
heli guy and a porsche guy. nice.
Thanks! Im not sure which is a more expensive habit tho!!
@@mykel1969 how's the 996 life? i'm looking at getting a 991.1 but 996's are so darn cheap
yep, you just can't beat the value if you want a driver! I did the clutch/IMS thing when I bought it at 89,000 miles. it's got 135k on it now, it's been backed into, sandblasted on the interstate, sits outside and gets driven in any weather. a true daily. Thanks! and good luck looking. I would do it again with a 996 and forget the IMS hype, look up the engine number and if its a dual row bearing (the first were single row) then buy it and forget about it!
If it helps I use 4000mah & get 5 mins with my Raw 500
ahh cool, I didn't really realize I could go so much bigger on the battery untill after I had bought two, I just bought what BK had on the list with the heli LOL. but im pretty happy after I put a meter on them I should be able to run 7 min at that low rpm I like to fly. I do think I want the overdrive fully for the tail. Thanks !!
Mine is dead stock, I love the way it flies, so smooth & stable. Altho I’m fairly new to helis
I do have several; (a bunch) I would say I fly the 500 far more than the others.
man your right, its very stable, feels more like a small Piuma rather than a big 420!
